Monists and Duelists

Those who believe that they have another within them, being the soul, looking out through the eyes as if they are windows, are duelists.

Those without that belief are monists.

I cannot understand how monists think, how they see the world, their perception is foreign to me.

Perhaps one has to make the assumption people are born with the way they view the world and that changing that perception, honestly, is a very rare thing.

Either way I believe most of you are duelists, how can you not be? If you are not explain to me because I am confused.

Duelists just believe in the presence of the soul, that they are inhabitants essentially, in the body, the body merely a vehicle that the soul controls. I seem to have two personalities at times, at one moment I am a ruthless fighter, someone who defends his family and his home from whatever threat comes, and the next moment I am fearful and thoughtful. I do not think you are crazy and you should not think so yourself, it could be because you are a Gemini, I personally am a Taurus, but it could be for many reasons, not because you are crazy however.

This is very interesting. I have never heard of this before.
I would say that I am a Duelist. I believe that the soul cannot die and we use our bodies for a time, and we can be spirts, and angels... again very interesting.

As for my fello gemmini, you are not crazy. We all have our moments of strengeth and moments when we seccond guess. We are human. Its part of our free will. We can decied each day who we want to be.

My understanding of "dualism" is that it is a doctrine that the universe is under the dominion of 2 opposing principles one of which is good and the other evil. Also another definition I am famiIiar with is that it is a view that human beings are comprised of 2 elements which are matter and spirit. I am not familiar w/the term "monists" . From my perspective, it seems you have heard the term monists yet do not have any understanding what it really means or maybe you do. I had to look it up on Wikipedia which had several pages of information you may be interested in. One important information there said the following: Monistic theism is not to be confused with montheism where God is viewed as transcendent-only. In monotheism, the notion of immanence or actual presence of God in all things is absent. There are 3 kinds of monism in philosophy: (1) Idealism which holds that only mind is real: (2) Neutral monism which holds that both the mental and the physical can be reduced to some sort of energy and (3) Physicalism or materialism which holds that only the physical is real and the mental can be reduced to the physical. Based on this info it seems you are asking do we believe in the spiritual or the physical reality? Is that your question?

For me, when you break everything dowm in laments terms there is flesh and spirit, and then you have good or evil.
All of that in between is nonsense to me.
