4 Line Poems

Postby pisces_dreamer » Wed Sep 16, 2015 3:22 pm

Ok I saw some pretty dope poetry on here lets see if anyone wants to try this

Basically just keep your poem to 4 lines max, and see how much you can say

Call and response works too if you tryna do it like that

But basically little shorts like,

Dreams I eat
But my plates at my feet
I nourish on pain
Deceit forever ingrained

Poetry, you know, does not have to rhyme.
Colloquial and pithy, it's rhythm
Does the job. Or mystic
Here's the moon, Fool, been waiting there.

Iambs or dactyls
Hexamic or quad
Consistent except
Can be broke for effect.

Effect like my money
Broke in a proper form
I'd rhyme money with a word
If the word had power in the effect

Pain present, pill presents
Presenting pillow pessimism
Sitting down to write
When you have not stood up to live.

Are you clowns just trying to get the last word?
If so that is completely absurd
As these comebacks are the worst i've heard
Oh hell, i'll just flip you both the bird

Yeah, I need to learn how to ignore people on these forums..

I'm a clown.
But I was given the face paint,
forced and smeared blotches taint
my face and crown.

The abba clown one is at least poetic. Work on meter.

The most discouraging way to start a morning
Is to hear the sound of rain that's pouring
But at least you don't feel defeated
With a sunshine that's overheated

I encourage rain to go away
by sweeping the skies with sun and shine.
Hope it's not overpowering; play
in the warmth, let your skin bask in mine.

Some things that are good can be a pain
Sometimes useful but at times are lame
It never happened its what you pretend
When you cross it out and start again

In four lines you don't have to use
Rhyming couplets and abuse
The readers. Instead choose
Anything. Tie your shoes.

Blurred, bedraggled morals
comprise my brokenness:
thought process is viscous
with these morals, bedraggled, blurred.
.... the Cambridge ladies do not care, above
Cambridge if sometimes in its box of
sky lavender and cornerless, the
moon rattles like a fragment of angry candy
closing lines of the Cambridge ladies who live in furnished souls by e. e. cummings

A shining blade reflecting the sky
I relish your tears as you scream and cry
Dodge it mortal, I dare you to try
Smiling, I laugh as I watch you die
