Violent nightmares

Postby Libertine85 on Tue Jun 19, 2012 11:41 am

For the last few months i've been having terrible nightmares, wich always wake me up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat and out of breath.

When they started, i dreamt of a smiling girl getting burried, with her head visible for throwing stones and kicking. The girl is smiling until people start to throw things, pull her teeth out with tongs, kick her in the mouth, and i stand beside her, looking at her face, and can't do nothing. I cry and her screams hurt my ears.

The other one i remember, is me lying in bed with my best friend(like a brother to me), surrounded by other friends. He's holding me and smiling like he heard a funny story, even though he has three arrows shot through his upper body. He turns to me and laughs, and starts stabbing me with arrows. I cry very loudly, again i can feel the screams hurting my ears through the dream, but this time it's my own. I try to get loose, but i'm stuck in the arm he's holding me with. He laughs and stares at me as he stabs me again and again, and i can feel the arrows through my body, enters the stomach, exits the back.
I finally get loose and run to a dark forrest to hide. I bleed alot, but i don't feel fatigued at all, only very sad and scared. Finally, a girl dressed in a witch costume finds me, and takes a picture of me. Then i woke up.

The third, i had today. I'm a caretaker for hurt animals, and i feel alot of wamth and love from and towards these animals. A gigantic black horse and a racoon. But my favourite one is the racoon, because it follows me everywhere, and feels like a friend. One of the other caretakers, a very large man with a cap and an axe, asks me to cut the racoons claws with a tiny bear trap. It hands me the paw and looks at me, it trusts me, i smile at it and pet it.
The large man grabs the racoon's paw i'm clipping, puts it on a block and chops it off. It screams and tries to run, blood is everywhere, i can see the terror in it's eyes. I cry very loudly and panic. The man looks at me with black eyes, and i wake up.

In all of these dreams, i can see myself like it was a movie, but i know that i'm "there". I have very long black wavy hair, i'm skinny, and have aninnocent facial expression, and i'm wearing an outfit close to Wednesday Addams'. I "feel" alot in these nightmares, i've never tried it before.

I can't figure out what these mean? Please help, i't confuses me and i worry all day.

Hi,
If you feel pain in a dream its likely that you experience actual pain during the sleep. It is pssible that you have a headache or migrain come on during sleep. Even when you watch object people or animals suffer, the dream is masking your own pain. Have a medical check-up to ease your mind.

Thanks! I just had a CT scanning of my brain and an epilepsy test, nothing was wrong. Så it can't be that!

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
So why did you have the CT scan?
If you're looking for "meanings", you'll be disappointed. Drems don't mean this or that. They are responses to what happensduring sleep.

It was a check my nurse wanted me to take.

I know that dreams don't mean thing in that way, that if i dream this, that will happen. But it often has a connection with disturbances in the waking life,
that the concience is trying to get you to notice. I have alot going on right now in my waking life, but it would be nice with some kind of explanation as to why my nightmares are so unbearably violent and bloody.

Libertine,

The one thing that may be going on while you dream is that you could be suffering low blood sugars during sleep. They have the effect of
magnifying the emotions tremendously. I know, 'cause I have suffered them all my life as I'm diabetic. Diabetes, hypoglycemia, dieting
can all cause the low blood sugars. The description at the end of your post I can't tell if that is you in Real life or how you appear to you
in your dreams. It just wash;t that clear to me, sorry. That's why I mentioned this. Now..on to your dreams!

The first one seems to be about getting buried to make someone helpless. Can't move arms and legs to climb out and then has to take
the abuse that is given. The teeth refer to one's words and appearance, like an Identity. To pull them all seems to reflect a possible
fear of your own. It's about your own helplessness, in my opinion.

The second dream seems to be similar, believe it or not. The arrows again can be messages that he is trying to drive home. It's as if
he wants you to know how he feels, and keeps pressing the idea's to you over and over. Is he the opposite gender of you own? If so,
then he may be referring to an attitude of yours concerning you attitude to men. He may represent a wounded masculine aspect
and he wants you to do something to fix his problem. When you run away to the forest is seems to some sort of wild refuge to you, but also
has a story-book feeling to it, especially when you meet the witch. The witch, by the way, refers you to your identity again because
she takes your picture, or an ID of you.

The third dream seems to be about nursing your more natural, instinctive side. You seem in the dream to have a great relationship
with this part of you, but the large man in the cap seems to act like someone critical of this. Thus the chopped off paw. HE may
represent some form of conscience to you, or some actual person or type of person that you have a conflict with. Perhaps in real life
you sense this sort of attitude from someone? Perhaps you are getting pressures from someone about issues that you have no problem
with, but he/she/they do! Perhaps this is the pragmatic versus your more ethereal side, like someone at your job/life who wants you
to be simply more stoic, down to business?

The idea that these seem to be appearing lately might give you a clue as to when something in your life has changed. What has happened
the last few months in real life? I'd like to know what you think of this interpretation. Best wishes,
TLC

That's me take on these. I hope this helps you.

Thank you, that helped me very much! I am a female, so my "brother" is a male.

It makes sense to me what you explain, alot of things have been going on lately.
I've been in a stand still in my life for over a year, and i'm about to rejoin the "real world".
This stresses me alot, because i have no money, no job, no education.
I fell in love again very quickly after my fiance of five years found another woman in Brooklyn, it all happened so quickly, and i'm now living with my new boyfriend.

I often dream that my ex is trying to be my friend, but i flip him off or beat him. I don't really think that one needs a "translation" ; )

But i also dream that my boyfriend is mean, cheating and trying to push me away.

Libertine,
So then if your "brother" is male then the question becomes which male in your life does he represent? With the comments above,
the conflict within your life might be that you are not only raging angry at your ex, but that your present BF may be trying to tell
you that he has heard enough? Thus the arrows might be two-fold since your ex cheated he obviously caused similar pain to you,
but your BF may be seeing that unless you get over it, you may be giving him all the reasons to do the same, thus either or both
can be the one stabbing you with the arrows. The last line in the quote might hint at either your confusion of the two in your
dreams, but also that either one responds to the common denominator.

My sympathies, and wishes for the best for you.
