Stigmata and Virgin Mary

Postby sweetipie on Wed Jun 13, 2012 6:44 am

Last night I had a dream that I had both my feet punctured as Christ had when on the cross. I had a gaping hole in both of my feet, and it was awefully painful. I was then laid down on a soft bed that resembled something like what you'd might imagine snow white lying in when in her deep sleep. I laid there, with my eyes closed and still for three days. It was as if I was in a light sleep or a trance because I was coherent, but unable to move. I was at peace, yet I could feel the wounds in my feet. Somehow in the dream I knew I was the Virgin Mary, or perhaps that there was a strong connection to her. When I arose, I was congratulated and felt very accomplished because I had endured, and I was healed after those three days of rest. Can someone please help me translate?

Thanks,

Wow! I love your dream. I never would have associated Jesus with Snow White, but of course they are both tied together through the theme of ressurrection. Fantastic! Snow white is also and interesting phrase to indicate purity - which of course ties into themes of purification, and the Virgin Mary tie-in makes perfect sense as her symbol deals with carnal purity. Snow White of course was also a virgin, a maid, until "awoken" to married life by true-love's "kiss."

The stigmata is a pain that is meant to challenge your faith, spiritual strength - or to make you stronger. By enduring the suffering gracefully, this purifies the spirit - because the pain creates many opportunities to fall away, or to resort to graceless options, it is a powerful temptation - by resisting and staying the course, you grow stronger, gain merit and so on.

The rest for three days mirrors the three days until Christ's resurrection; the stigmata is analogous to his torture/ trials before hand.

So the themes of purification cannot be overlooked. Likewise, the spiritual/ religious orientation of the dream cannot be overlooked. In general I'd say you've been through a great ordeal, or trials, which after passing through you feel purified and strengthened. I'd venture to guess that it is sexually related, such as becoming a born-again virgin (the resurrection theme, the virgin theme).

Best Wishes.

::Edit:: the stigmata appearing in your feet, rather than say in your palms or from your forehead, probably speaks that whatever the trial/tribulation was, affected your ability to walk through life or stand on your own two feet - it emotionallly crippled you.

Thank you for your reply! Yes I'd say that I've been spiritually and emotionally challenged. Emotionally crippled is very acurate. I had a certain plan in mind, and was going that direction before I was suddenly thrown for a loop, and now I feel that my life is at a stand still. Thank you again, and hopefully I'll feel accomplished at the end of all of this like I had in the dream :)
