What's for Dinner?

Got something on your mind? Get it off your chest! Talk about anything here...well almost anything.

Meatloaf with bacon and cheese on top.

What have you got? Mine, which is really my son's garden, but I contribute to the work is kind of spaced out as far as what's producing. Some things that were supposed to be ready at the same time are kind of doing their own thing. But I'll have tomatoes till November here. Yikes. Lesson learned for next year. :)

A ton of tomatoes are about to be done all at once. Time to can. Peppers of all kinds, zucchini. We have baby cantaloupes and watermelons on the way. There are so many we will have to give them away. Green beans are about ready too.

Tonight we are supposed to be having -- Two different pasta meals, spaghetti and turkey meatballs and lasagna, with two different salads. My mom always cooks pasta up for my brothers when they go over for dinner, I think they must put in some kind of request in advance.

Do you find it is easier to do your dinners now, Krsty with less of a full household?
And I want to wake up with the rain

While I'm safe there in your arms
So all I ask is for you

Absolutly! It's like this.....

If you see it, eat it cause I'm cooking for dad and I only. lol That is true more often now. I guess I just got burned out. That's when frozen food comes in handy. :cabbagepatch:

Tonight I am making carne asada with beans and guacamole and some salsa, unless of course hubby brings something home.

I do all of the cooking at my house. One of my hobbies is cooking/catering. When time and other issues allow I do party trays and some limited catering for dinners, parties, small events. I have also taught some general cooking skills classes to the women in our neighborhood. It's something I enjoy ( along with ghost hunting, sports, golf, long distance biking, etc......)

My wife and I have a non-traditional relationship, as I may have said before. Even before we had a child, I still enjoyed doing the cooking and much of things like laundry and traditional men things like lawn care, car matainence. I also have always worked in a corporate position. My wife works in the hair business and used to travel to hair shows, etc, now we own a hair salon and she does hair shows/teachings as an independent contractor, she also does salon management consulting for shops that need assistance. So to make a short story long..... I do the cooking, always have (even for my parents somewhat toward the end of my college days). Also soon after my daughter was born I stopped traveling in my company postion as I became an absolute in love with his child dad, My wife got an oppurtunity to travel in a dream job and I changed my job to limit travel. From when she was just a few days old I bathed her, changed 97.5% percent of her diapers, did her hair, laundry, took her to and from daycare........she is 13 now and still along with my wife, my best friend.....I realized that I was the luckiest man in the world.......still am..........I'm still the same guy I was, former jock, yada, yada, but what really became important to me was to be a "dad" and I can't say it enough how lucky I am..........anyway sorry for the long spiel......hope that answered your question.

wellllllll.........I have to admit I couldn't be any more confused, but that seems to be my usual place in the world! LOL

I was thinking more along the lines of:

Grilled Salmon burgers ( I used cans of pink salmon mixed with chopped celery, seasoned salt, lemon juice and eggs to help hold them together) drizzled with Worchestshire sauce served on a bun with sliced white cheddar cheese.
I like to make twice baked potatoes with these and for me I spice the potatoe I'm going to eat with some diced jalepenos.
I also like to serve this with ceasars salad.

So ok, Im not ranting at you, I like you tons.

This is how you do it. Take a totally fucking normal relationship thread, fuck around a little, get all nice and wet, then bam! Throw you fellow DM members into a fiery BBQ pit and let them fry. Get one fed up bitch to tell it streight and waala you have a wonderful dish of free fucking speech regardless of who see's it or who is offended or who could give 2 shits or who only has a single give a shit left. Hell, some bystanders are so God damed dried up from ass fucking that they dont give a shit at all.

Anywho...hows that sound?

wellllllll.........I have to admit I couldn't be any more confused, but that seems to be my usual place in the world!

Those salmon burgers sound delish. I'm going to have to try that recipe. I thought the white cheddar cheese was an interesting touch.

Krsty, your BBQ'd Free Fucking Speech sounds absolutely delightful! Will be trying that one soon too :D
