Boat Dream

I was on a boat to Catalina Island with my late brother and folks, God bless them both. It was a strange recollection of a childhood trip we took. I could hear Barry Manilow tunes as the Summer breezes blew by. I felt such comfort and peace, like these were the days of innocence, like a childlike memory of being young and free. God bless my brother in Heaven, the sweet sound of the 70s struck a poignant, bittersweet note in my heart.
I think we all have the remembrance of being a child before we grow up and have to make our own decisions and deal with stress and be adults. The whole point of the dream was returning to being a kid again, to that moment in time when I was five years old.
The feeling I had when I woke up is calm and tranquility, like the past was beautiful. Although maybe I was looking behind me with rose-colored glasses. It was before the divorce and my sweet brother dying of a brain tumor. I was happy waking up that he was no longer suffering in agony from his pain...he'd always been sickly, with Scarlet Fever as a child and seizures. . Perhaps the dream was an indication that I needed to get a life and quit reminscing about the 1970s. I don't know, but I guess it's just you can look back in time and get stuck in the past.

Sounds like a good dream. Those experiences in the past make us who we are today.
It's bittersweet.
One of the nice parts of getting to be 'of a certain age' is the looking forward and backward at the same time.

If the boat was still ( Stagnant) on the water means you will stay a long time in a travel then back.
An island means a new workplace which is far away.
