glimpse of hell...?

Postby horseshoe97 on Sat May 19, 2012 3:58 pm

okay. so i am slightly freaked out. i've always been kinda atheist/agnostic on and off, and recently i had a near death experience. like very close. and i saw something very frightening. it wasnt even a building. it was kind of in a pit. there were people locked up with their worst nightmares. screaming, begging, pleading. i got a glimpse into the "cell" in front of me, and it had something that really scared the s**t out of me. luckily i came out of it.

Is this my imagination? Or did I see hell? I am very confused. I asked one of my baptist friends about it, and he said it was probably the first layer of hell that I saw. I really have no idea. but the image haunts me in both my dreams and waking hours.

Any help on what i actually saw or how to get the image out of my mind so i stop having nightmares?? :?
i like rock and roll. i belive its good for the soul, not modern or rap, but good, old classic rock and roll.

I do not believe in spirituality, so I can tell you one thing: Perhaps it is just your subconscious telling to 'confront your fears'. You stated that you had a near-death experience, so the message carried could be "life is too short to be scared by X thing".
"Spirituality" is a code word of sorts: "I have a confession to make — I believe in God! I'm so sorry!" - "Your 'science' cannot explain my transcendental experiences!" - "I'm a quack. Give me all your money."

You aren't the only one. Some time ago i was really wild and did lots of crazy things. One night i had a dream about being sentenced to Hell. I literally woke up screaming. I haven't actually seen Hell in my dream, but i remember being so damn scared. I never felt like that in my entire life.
I shamelessly admit i haven't changed too much, but i dropped off some of my bad habits and i can say I'm a little more "tamed" than before.
I only hope Hell is not that scary IF it exists.

i dont beleive in hell being anything but a concept - traditionally used to scare people into 'joining the club' so i will address the other issue -

you can program your dreams so you can dream whatever you want. try focusing on an image before you go to sleep. picture it clearly in your mind before you go to sleep. after practice this will be the image you will dream of, certainly be involved in the dream. simple as that.

you can use your other senses to program the dreams and eventually even thoughts while you are actually dreaming but generally an image is the easiest to focus on to start with.

so the question is - what do you want to dream of?

I am a believer in Heaven and Hell. I think if you're concerned after that, then try to do good deeds and make amends for past mistakes to loved ones. Reading the Twelve Steps could really help you to recover from regret and guilt by just repenting your sins. You cannot really change what you've done, but I think we get a second chance in life to change and evolve as better human beings. I'm not trying to say that you're bad and it's none of my business why you are afraid of Hell, but you can just start a new day and create a more positive lifestyle if that would make you feel better. I just sense a big, heavy weight on your shoulder, like you have shame from the past. Forgive yourself and others, and try to make up for the hardship you've caused. We all have to worry about bad karma if we act in selfish, greedy or evil ways...so try to create good karma by helping others. When you help others, you're helping yourself to the milk of human kindness. We are only human and make mistakes and an apology to others can really clear the air. Good luck.

I have had two NDE, once as a small child and once in my 20s. I have a belief about the afterlife, because I have experienced it and have tried to describe it. You, there are lots of people, athiests or not, who have different experiences when they have a NDE. Christians experiencing hell, Athiests experience heaven and vice versa. Because I believe the spirit world is made up of energy, we will see what we have created here, over there. Now, that doesnt mean because you saw a pit or hell, that hell is where you were going. It is a frame of mind. At the time of your NDE, where you going through hard times, where you guilty of causing your own NDE, do you look down on yourself because of the way you live, is there any reason that your mind would have condemned you in any way? When you die, God does not judge you, you consciousness judges you. Many people will see many different things as soon as they die or have a NDE, most of the time, it will go away after the consciousness has been cleared. Any one can see hell, good or bad. It depends what kind of energy you are carrying at that moment and how you are dealing with negativity. I do not believe God or any other spiritual being sends people to hell or condemns anyone to such a place. There are different energetic levels and vibrational frequencies in the energy world, you will go to the one that your energy is likened to. Like attracts like. So that being said, the longer you hold onto negativity or look down on yourself for mistakes or the way you live, the lower your energetic field and frequency will be. Its best to not hold onto mistakes, or negativity. Just move on and let it go.

I really and honestly dont believe it matters if you are religious or not, as long as you can live with your own conscious. God would not set up people like that, there are many different religions and all those people need that for the time being, its where they are in their spiritual learning. You on the other hand, have to be guilt free about being an athiest, because its where you are meant to be, right now. I am agnostic, I learn from my own experiences. Whats happened is between me and God, but I got to live with it. The same with you, you do not have to believe in God to get into heaven (he's there whether you like it or not) so long as you are athiest but you are living up to your highest self and standards. What comes around goes around. A persons belief in the afterlife does not affect their physical life, so long as that person is living, learning and growing in the right direction. Doesnt matter what you call it, or what religion helped you, as long as you are moving in the right direction. What matters is that you are in the here and now. That you are learning and raising your consciousness, you can worship a donkey if you like, as long as you are raising your consciousness and vibrational frequency through learning and growing as a spiritual energetic being.

Occasionally I'll have a dream where I'm crawling through dark corridors, usually with other people. The hallways get narrower and narrower until I can't stand up and eventually I can barely crawl on my stomach, and it gets hotter and hotter. Toward the end, I realize we're all crawling toward Hell and wake up terrified, usually just before I would've caught a glimpse of the Devil.

I had a near death experience (NDE) as a kid. I fell off a slide and hit the flat lines and saw a glimpse of Heaven. I saw angelic doctors and nurses hovering over me in this beautiful white room. I never felt so at peace and protected and safe and calm and happy. I shall never forget that fantastic experience of no pain in my life. I read up on NDEs all the time, just recalling the sweet smell of Heaven and amazing music up in the Heavens. I'm scared to death of going to Hell...every time I'm tempted to be bad, the angel on my shoulder (my conscience) leads me to kind deeds and turning away from the seven vices. I really try to atone my sins and believe in God and Satan completely. Damn, nothing can stop the will of the divine. I leave it all in the hands of God and Jesus, my personal savior. I turn away from evil as much as I can. The Lord is a lamb. God is love. :heartpump:
