Mom

Postby KRSTYSTLCLR on Wed May 02, 2012 12:28 pm

I just had a very lonely feeling come over me. I thought about my mother who passed away in 2003. Maybe it's because mothers day is coming...i don't know.
My mom was an awesome woman. Raised 5 kids, PTA and girl scout mom. She was a successful Realtor and had one of the biggest land sales in Orange County back in the 70's. She drafted and built 2 homes in Hawaii. I mean actually built them, didn't hire a contractor. Diverse artist, and business woman. She had the most beautiful handwriting I have ever seen. Mom never left the house without at least mascara and lipstick. Always dressed right for what ever occasion. Rarely heard her cuss and speak crassly. She never met my boys, but she always made sure they had Birthday, Easter and Christmas gifts from her. She loved Halloween and loved making home made costumes. One year when my kids were little, we didn't have extra money for costumes. I don't know how she knew, but she sent the boys little costumes and pumpkin shaped candy buckets. There are so many things I miss about her. Like the smell of Halston. Yeah, she loved the mens Halston for a while and wore it! In some way's she reminded me of Liz Taylor. Mom had a kind of class and way of presenting herself that was just uncommon. Smart too. We used to say she was smart like a fox. Lol
Mom, I miss you. :blowingkisses:

It's weird how I can totally appreciate when people love their mothers, while on the other hand. I can't stand my own.
I'm pleased you had a good person for a mother !

Sounds like you had a great mom, Krsty. Sorry for your loss, hun.

I love my mum and miss her heaps.
She didn't always make the right choices and still doesn't but she's an amazing person.

@ Nos, That's what a lot of people say, but it's honest and I respect that. My mom was not a perfect mother but she was an awesome woman and a good role model for a lot of things. Hope you had a good time with your mom recently. :blowingkisses:

@ jojo, thanks. She was a neat woman. I wish I was half as talented as she was. Seems like you get on well with your mom. :heartpump:

My mom passed when I was 15. I don't really think about her much anymore, just makes me miss her. I'm not much on the afterlife. But I do love her. She worked hard to support and provide for me and my siblings being a single mother. I never really got to know her, she didn't talk much. And that makes me want to be more involved with my little one. I want her to be able to talk to me about anything. But my mother had a passion for cooking, gardening, and DIY house repairs which have rubbed off on me without realizing it. We really do turn into our mothers :heartpump:

@ GG, I think Jojo was asking me if I have piccies of my mom. Which I do, I'll have to work at getting them downloaded and uploaded.

I'm sorry that you lost her at such a young age. Teen girls really do need their mothers. Cooking, gardening and DIY is great! My mom was a little short on the coking one, lol... but great at the others.
