Why did you come to DM?

So, I was curious about all of you. What were your reasons for joining DM?
Did you need a dream interpreted and just stuck around? Or did a friend introduce you to the forum? Why did you stay and how long have you been here? How has DM changed since you've been here?
There that should be enough questions to get the creative juices flowing.


And of course, it's only fair for me to go first. I came here a few years ago. Yeah, not my first account, sue me. I'd been having some freaky dreams and stumbled onto the DM dictionary looking for meanings. Then I found the forum. I had never been on a forum and had no clue how to go about talking to people on it. My first few attempts were awkward to say the least. After being on a year I left due to a lot of fighting and trolling. I came back last fall out of curiosity to see how things were going. Also needed some advice that I really couldn't discuss with anyone in RL. Which were answered very nicely by the way.

The dream dictionary and researching dreams. Most times I can understand my own dreams but sometimes you have things happening in life that distracts you and you need input from others and elsewhere and that was the case for me.

Most likely just some on the surface facade, I would not go looking too deeply or you will see what you once saw when on your last account.

Oh I don't doubt it. There will always be people like that. But I've learned to ignore it, over the past year or so I've been forced to grow a thick skin.

I had known about DM for weeks before joining but the specific reason why I joined was because of a particular dream that was bothering me. I needed it to be interpreted and as I waited, I visited each of the sub-forums and by the time the day was done, I think I had somewhere around 45 posts.

i stayed my reason on another thread but i'll repeat it here.

i became interested in dream interpretations on late may of 2011. i didn't start out on the dreams section because i don't believe anyone can interpret my dreams but me nor do i believe i can interpret anyone elses dreams. as a matter of fact i don't recall me ever posting on that section. (i feel dreams are personal and only you can interpret your own dream) i came to the forums because i had an urge to express myself. before that i rarely use the computer or spoke to anyone.

Well when I first joined DM I was around 11 or 12ish and I had just recently moved from the bay area to the central valley. Back when we lived in the bay area my mother worked late and so I would always be left at the school's after school care. There was one "teacher" there with purple hair who was so kind to me. She made the other kids stop bullying me and she would always sit and talk to me, not like a child but like an adult.

I was very sad when we moved because I would never see her again and would have to be in a school where no one would be there to stop the bullying. Well I had a dream that she was in, it was outside a grocery store and there was a lot of warm rain outside and people filling up water bottles with rain and it was very peaceful. It made me feel better in my apprehension. I woke up the next morning feeling happy and like someone was watching over me.

I didn't realize there are people on here that young. I always dream of water in some form when my emotions run deep.
