I hit a mental barrier

I lucid dream all the time. Usually when I have a lucid dream I instantly take advantage of it, and I can do literally whatever I want. I can make things happen, make things materialize, fly, breathe underwater...whatever I can think of.

But this one time, something very interesting happened.

It happened a long time ago, but I've been wondering about it ever since. I was having a particularly lucid dream, meaning I had more control than I had ever had, and since I was so aware, I decided to do something I really wanted to do. I already had many people on my beck and call, giving me everything I wanted. (They were random dream people that didn't exist to me in real life) At the time I was still getting over a really bad breakup with an ex, and he was refusing to talk to me or give me any kind of closure. He hadn't even let me explain why I wanted to end things. So I told my dream servants to bring him to me so I could make him talk.

It was the strangest feeling, but I hit a wall. Not like in my dream a wall suddenly appeared and I walked into it, I mean like a mental wall. I didn't see it, I felt it and it was so strong and bounced me back with such force that I got frightened and I didn't ask for anything else.

I've speculated on it alot since then, but I believe that I hit a wall because in asking to have my ex brought to me I tried to do the one thing you can't do in lucid dreams, which is bring someone else's consciousness into yours. I hadn't asked for a dream version of my ex, I wanted HIM. I hit the wall of my own consciousness trying to leave my own and get his. At least this is what I believe. I would love to hear other people's thoughts on this.
