Serial Killers

Postby BLUE on Wed Apr 04, 2012 9:58 pm

So I was talking with a friend of mine, we both have a fondness for all things spooky. We started talking about serial killers. So I was wondering what serial killer to you like the most...or which win freaks you out the most?

My all the time favorite has to be H.H. Holmes for obvious reasons. He was the first documented serial killer in the United States. He made his gruesome debue during the worlds fair of Chicago where he used the fair in his advantage to apprehend people who had left there old life to start a new beginning only to find themselves pray to Mr. Holmes. If you want scary the man had his own death castle which was filled with doors opening to no where and Stairs that went right into the ceiling. Countless other things like trap doors, gas chambers, and sound proof walls. After the act had been done Holmes would sell the victims skeleton to universitys for cash. Further studies have shown compelling evidence that Holmes could also be none other than Jack the Ripper. Yes i said it. His story is very interesting with not just morbid storys but also rich history of Chicago. If anyone wants some reading material I would suggest Devil in the White City. I enjoy others but Holmes to me sets away from others.
Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the War Room.

Ed Grin freaks me out :worry:

This is a near and dear subject to me. I began researching and following the profiling of serial killers before it was as popular and public as it is now. My intitial interest was piqued by Jerry Brudos, the lust killer who in the 60's began by breaking into womens houses and stealing their shoes and underwear and graduated to killing the women, keeping their bodies for an extended time, then amputating either one or both feet and keeping it/them in a freezer so that he could photogragh the foot/feet in the stolen shoes. He had a garage that had video cameras to protect his privacy, the garage was in fact a torture chamber. He also had an intercom system that his wife had to warn him anytime she was approaching the garage. Upon being discovered/caught it was learned that from a small child his mom would secretly dress him as a girl and call him by a girls name until he grew into a young adult and moved away. His father and other relatives were never aware of this. What made this case so unique is that it became on of the primary cases that not only helped the profiling of killers that we have today, it used more than one profiling technique to help discover him.

To clarify his is not a favorite, nor do I "like", "admire" or have anything but disgust for all of these criminals. My interest is in learning what caused and/or what can be done to prevent future evilness. The things all of these killers have in common is that they are always: Narcissistic, have Borderline Personality Disorder and are either pyscopathic or sociapathic. The ohter thing that is of interest is that for much of history it was thought that only the human has serial killers, it has been learned of late that they have discovered what they believe to be serial killers both in the Ape/gorilla and Dolphin species.
Just my thoughts........

Clearly I speak from the abstract when I say this, but that's pretty impressive as far as an 'artistic touch' goes.

This is technically not a serial killer but mad scientists that did stuff on humans and animals like years ago used to freak me out.

Vladimir Demikhov: The Two-Headed Dog Surgeon

On 1954, soviet surgeon Vladimir Demikhov, revealed his masterpiece to the world: a two-headed dog. The head of a puppy had been grafted onto the neck of an adult German shepherd. The second head would lap at milk, even though it did not need nourishment — and though the milk then dribbled down the neck from its disconnected oesophagus. Although both animals soon died because of tissue rejection, that did not stop Demikhov from creating 19 more over the next 15 years. See a video of the surgery

WWWWWWTTTTTTFFFFFFF

But some scientists did things on humans too. :worry: It seriously makes me shiver.

Sorry cap I know that "favorite" was not exactly the best word to use but at the moment fit.

The broad spectrum of killers. Boys with their domineering mothers to the super intelligence that has crossed over that line. An intelligence that always seems to fascinate me. When a man becomes Dr. Frankenstein with the puppy world but more with Holmes. Building a castle of death. Killing in more than one land. From what I understand he had family in England and was their visiting at the times of The Ripper murderer. I am not sure why but Jack The Ripper has and will always hold my attention if you will.

I agree, he did things that now are almost always shown as cartoonish in most movies. The Lust Killer by Anne Rule is a good book on the subject. What created such interest for me in this case was the veiled attempt to have a "normal" life. In the late 60's he was ingenius in his ability to hide his garage from normal people and his mental manipulation of his "wife" was extraordinary. The profiling and investigative information learned and shared on that case created a jumpstart in the way they began to investigate what they deemed serial murders. For what's it worth Ann Rule was the lady that wrote the book on Ted Bundy, she was driven to it as she once worked with Ted Bundy.

For an insight into a really freaky guy, google/read about a guy they called the "iceman".......his name was Richard Kuklinski.

I actually find it very interesting how someone could just...shut off some of their emotions. Walk up to someone...and proceed to chop up the other person to bits. ..without anyone in their real life realizing who..and what they are.

Now shall we continue?

Calm down. I only read the first 2-3 posts. Why would I have asked if I had read that already?

Savantism, sorta.

I watched his interviews a while back, and he definitely earned his moniker.

I'd have to say....man I honestly don't know. The one I know the most about was John Wayne Gacy, but that's because I did a research project on him.

If you don't know who he is, he raped and killed a pretty big number of teenage boys and put them in his crawl space under his house. He was found out after he kidnapped the wrong boy and people started searching for him. He tried to stay with runaways so people would search for him. He was also known as the clown killer because he often dressed up as a clown and went around to children's hospitals to cheer up little kids.

Ooh another one is Charles Manson. I'm sorry, I think anyone who can convince a group of people to go around and kill people is pretty badass. Just in a bad way. I guess another reason why I say him is because he just had his parol hearin yesterday and didn't show up. Which he never shows up. I mean, honestly, if I could I would have a group of people, however instead of killin, I'd want them to worship a stick, just because I could.

I am kinda like Smile. I am not really into serial killers. But I am interested Docs who do experiments on ppl. In a way they are serial killers, I think.

Like Dr. Mengele "the angel of death"
He was a Nazi concentration camp doctor. He was truly a sicko. He did a lot of studies on twins. He would takes twins from birth and cut limbs off and poistion limbs differently or sew on other body parts and sew the twin together without any anesthetic and then he and the staff would raise them, see how long they can survive etc. He would give one twin a deadly virus and after that one die he would kill the other one to compare the organ. Some of his work they still cant figure what he was studying like the eye color, take kids and inject dye in their eyes. He also did a lot of other sick experiments not just with twins. In the name of science no he was mad doctor.

Others ones that have interested me was Unit 731 lead by Shiro Ishii, again world war 2. They did it to learn mostly about diseases and everything about the human body (can only learn so much from animals which I am against to) and how to protect themselves if enemies try to use "chemical/biology warfare" on them. Germ testing (warfare), they freeze limbs then thawed to study untreated gangrene. Cut babies out, used burn chemicals to their faces etc, flame throwers, pull all the teeth out of your mouth with nothing to see how much pain the human body can take before passing out, anything with diseases, you named it they did it. They did unconscionable things. Reading this stuff making me feel dizzy and nausea so I cant read too much at once.

a part of me that I really dont like to acknowledge, says this was for science but it is stuff like this is how most of what we know about the human body comes from.. I guess this is why I read this shit, I cant stand it but at the same time this is how cures and operations are learn along with a lot of other bad crap, but we all want the Novocaine or gas at the dentists. but I am also disturbed and fascinated by the fact these docs could do these things, watch this, the suffering of it and have it not bother them, I just cant wrap my mind around it. Truly a dark side of human nature, we damn this when we talk about it but we used the benefits of it for ourselves.

I like spooky things too, but more along the lines of ghosts stuff like that. Tho, for some reason I find mental illness very fascinating, maybe because I have family members affected by it, really creepy sometimes. I find old madhouses interesting and the experiments. The types of Mental illness, like multiple personalities is probably the one I find most interesting.
