Poisoned, Traumatizing Blood Transfusion

Postby Periwinkle on Mon Mar 26, 2012 5:59 am

Last night, I dreamt I went with a former classmate to go shopping. She was getting ready for a party and I wanted something to do. We separated once we got to the store and I picked up some figs, Nutella, and a bottle of wine. Hours passed and I finally met up with my classmate. She was mad because I was late. I was made because I realized my figs were missing. My classmate got over her anger quickly and helped me look. They were out of figs. Then, I noticed my Nutella was gone, too. The store clerks explained to me that sometimes interdimensional creatures showed up to steal groceries. I asked them why they seemed to favor my groceries and they really couldn't say.

Next, my friends and I took a trip to our local arboretum. We had to stay on a certain path, but following the rules seemed boring. We went off the path and quickly found out why the rule was in place: the arboretum was surrounded by yellow poisonous toads that left their residue on everything they touched. I was walking barefoot and my feet started to burn from the effects of the poison. Soon, it started spreading to the rest of me and I tried to get back on the dry, safe path. Unfortunately, I collapsed and, in my poisoned state, I had a dream:

I was watching the poppy field scene from The Wizard of Oz. Dorothy and Lion were already knocked out from the effects of the poppies. Scarecrow and Tinman sat by Dorothy, pondering how to wake her up. Rather than freaking out until Glinda appears and fixes the problem, Scarecrow nonchalantly stated that he'd summon his crows to rescue Dorothy. Tinman laughed and asked how a bunch of crows could help wake up Dorothy. Scarecrow glared at Tinman, saying, "You'll see." Then, he gave a whistle and a fleet of crows were soaring over the poppy field in seconds. Each crow's beak was as full of blood as possible and, once perfectly over Dorothy, they released the blood from their beaks to her mouth. Dorothy's mouth began to overflow with the crows' blood and this made Scarecrow hungry. He started lapping up the blood from Dorothy's mouth, the Tinman watching on in horror. I tried to get the scenario to stop playing, but it had a mind of its own. It played until my alarm clock went off.

Were you sleeping with the tv on just curious. I also think caffiene played a huge part I'm this. The fact you saw a classmate means you may need to catch up with someone or miss a friend etc. You also may have a lot of stress surrounding you being in school currently. My guess is the obvious. Exams.

I used to sleep with the TV on when I was a kid, but I don't do it anymore to conserve energy. This isn't the first time that I've had an Oz-related dream, though. I'm also not in school anymore (I graduated last year), but I volunteer at a school once or twice a week. I haven't been in as much, lately, because of half days and _CAS exams, but that's more stress on the full-time teachers' part than mine.

:eat: a lot here to take in... a dream within a dream :?

The dream starts out as the chit chat girl lets go :rarara: shop/party as your path is looking at the practical side... you take your time and get yelled at by your friend as you hook up again.

figs (bible term comes to mind) as basic needs (as money gets tight kind of saying) jobs :?
As you are walking your path in life ... local arboretum. We had to stay on a certain path, but following the "rules seemed boring" and we know there is a lot of "toads" (boys)... Poison might be the state of mind your in right now :?

so a dream within a dream is coming up where you find yourself getting the same bloody advice crowed down your throat over and over again from a character that is trying to grasp at straws because he has no brain. :dummy"

:whoa: Hey Dorothy ... I have no brain, but I grasping at straws here, did you go off the beating path and step on a toad? P ;) of coarse the lion is going to look on and think something...and roar gross.

My friend pointed out a general theme in the dream: things that are beyond my control (ex. loss of time, interdimensional beings stealing my groceries, the poppy field scenario). I suppose the only thing that could have been avoided was what happened with the poisonous toads. I'm just gonna write some notes to see if anything clicks:

A lowdown of what's going on right now: Someone I had a crush on years and years ago contacted me recently. It started innocent enough; we talked about what we did once we got out of high school. Then, he invited me to a party he planned to throw at some point in the future. Then, he suggested we hang out and we exchanged numbers. Then, he told me he liked me all those years ago. He also started using more "comfortable" language (ex. He threw in the word "sexy" a couple times). Ever since then, I've been thinking about him more than my current partner. I knew this was a problem and went to some relatives for help. They said these feelings were normal, as my current partner cannot be there for me on a regular basis. They suggested I not treat it like an issue until I had evidence that this other person wanted to date me. This other person hasn't really tried to contact me since and I'm dying for some type of answer so I can either "not treat it like an issue" or plan ahead accordingly. I always thought I was dealt a weird card when it came to time and dating (this is not the first instance in which something like this has happened to me).

I agree about the biblical components of the figs and wine. The Nutella is what throws me off. The only type of nut that's really mentioned in the bible is the almond and Nutella is a hazelnut spread. Although Jesus cursed the figs, the wine is revered as the Blood of Christ. I guess what's important is that, no matter what strange outside occurrences happen to me (the interdimensional beings), I get to keep my wine in the end.

Arboretum, house of plants and trees. Looking back on this part of the dream, staying on the path was "boring" because most of the beautiful sights were off the path. I guess walking the straight and narrow can sometimes be a punishment in itself; our lives are enriched by experiences - both good and bad. If we always followed the rules, there would be no more opportunities for learning and growth.

You're probably right about the poisonous toads being men, but why so many of them in the arboretum? I sometimes think of that conversation I had with this person being poisonous. Up until that point, my feelings for him were a long-since-dead memory. By telling me his feelings for me all those years ago, he managed to rekindle some of my feelings for him. I guess those types of feelings never really leave us; they just go into hiding. Thinking about him has really sucked the energy out of me. For a while, I couldn't eat or sleep. He was so sweet and sincere during our conversation, but he seems kind of indifferent now. I wonder what really happened that night.

Interpreting the last part of the dream seems, to me, the hardest. Watching The Wizard of Oz and seeing how Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tinman, and Lion interact, I thought of all three of them as Dorothy's suitors. Although all three of them are ineffectual in the poppy scene from the actual film, the Scarecrow in my dream believes he can fix the problem. The only thing is, there seems to be a misidentification in what the problem actually is. Scarecrow's attempts at a blood transfusion seem to suggest that he and Tinman believed Dorothy was dying when, really, she was just sleeping. My friend pointed out a stealing of life force (Scarecrow lapping up the blood), much in a way that my waking life scenario is stealing the energy away from me.

These figs and nut :neer: ... Wine
My :rarara: (scarecrow) - blood = Wine ... as wine and dine
The lion :king: would not like that. (current BF)

Relationships are about a lot of things "timing" is a part.
Walking the yellow brick road, you meet :rarara: at the fork :eat:
:dummy" I know  and moves in for :noisemaker:

Remember all toads have long  :noisemaker:

As part of lifes journey is walking the road is looking at your choices. Dating is kind of hard to do if we walk the "straight" line. As I see sexy as curves! :whistling:

The rule of thumb is fair game until Emerald City :wideeye: ring!
And then you meet the Ozz  (you can get a good night sleep)

We all build our own road, and walk it. The sooner you find the right person(s) to walk it with it looks like a big Church.. But it's a city

Personally.. The Characters all have traits that Have to be brought out my :2cents:
