Whispers in the dark?

My mom and I keep hearing whispering from what sounds like a little girl... she always says something about her mom. For example, I woke up one night with whispers saying "Red! My... mommy!" (Red is my nickname). The following morning I told my mom, and she apparently has been hearing a little girl too. I honestly doubt this is paranormal, because I was reading that when you fall asleep, your mind tries to keep you awake, by making you hear things. But how did me and my mom both hear a little girl, on the exact same night? I've been hearing numerous different voices in the past month or so. Does anybody know how to make it stop? It's pretty creepy, and leaves me paranoid during the night..

hey to me it is sounding paranormal, atleast a bit...

if you are unable to sleep properly you may want to try some relaxation techniques.
If the mind is trying to keep you awake, Why? when you sleep, do you get nightmares that make you fear going back to sleep??

Also, if it turns out to be paranormal,
the little girl might be trying to tell you something. what she whispers may through light in the matter. Listen closely what she had to say.

maybe it has something to do with where you live. Did you move into the place recently? If yes, you might want to check out the history of the place.

I've been told that people under deep stress will hear there name out of nowhere, like there mind is calling it out and also if you hear a radio or music all the time in the distance its a stress thing. so maybe theres something your not dealing with and you mom is connected, thats just an idea.
