Question of the Day

Got something on your mind? Get it off your chest! Talk about anything here...well almost anything.

Happy Friday!!

I <3 Friday!!

operatormike wrote:What is/are key ideals by which you live your life?

I also agree with OM and RP: Love is all you need! (Beatles tune!)
I believe that there are two paths in live: The path of Love and the path of Fear. Love leads us to places in alignment with our hearts and opens us to all the Universe is. Fear leads us to places to hide in the darkness and protect an ego to fragile to cope with the world.

There are so many defniitions of Love out there. The best one I've come across is this:

The defintion of Love from the book "The Road Less Traveled" by Scot Peck: "Love is not a feeling. Love is an action, an activity. . . Genuine love implies commitment and the exercise of wisdom. . . love is the will to extend oneself for the purpose of nurturing one's own or another's spiritual growth. . . true love is an act of will that often transcends emphemeral feelings of love or cathexis, it is correct to say: Love is as love does"

Oh can I say two things?
1. Giving birth to my Son. 2. Giving birth to my Daughter.
I love them so so so much!!!

I wish all peace and joy for the weekend!

Take care,

2 weeks ago I was so sick I coughed so much my whole body hurt and I'm still getting over it. Hated taking so many meds, but with a combination of allerga, antibiotics and a sinus med I finally beat the worst of it.

i tend to feel sick a lot, be it from stomach/intestinal problems, frequent headaches, feeling faint, horrible periods, etc. but the last time i was sick enough to miss work was about a year ago. my mom had gotten sick right before i did and had to go to the doctor, only to find out she had pneumonia. when i went to the doctor, i was diagnosed with a bad sinus infection/bronchitis.

Hello All,

OMGoodness. I hope that everyone is feeling better and that everyone had a great weekend.

I don't recall the last time I was sick. I am lactose intollerent and have many other food allergies, so I get tummy aches a lot, but sick, like a cold. . . I don't really remember. (My memory is shot BTW).

Okay, new day. . . How does daylight savings time affect you?

Falling behind is awesome - hour extra of sleep!
Springing Ahead Sux.
Everyone in the household over slept. We were cranky, missed breakfast, kids were late to school, I had to get gas, I almost got a traffic ticket cuz of road construction (people behind me were honking something fierce, so I drove slowly passed the officer - who yelled at me to wait my turn), I was upset the rest of the way to work (late), but my boss didn't yell at me and there was a fresh pot of coffee ready for me, I didn't have too many pressing emails, so the day is getting better. LOL!!

Hope you all have a good one!

Take care,
SG

The only thing I don't like about it, is having to wake up in the dark, but by the time I leave for work, daylight is coming up. I've been sick, so it hasn't effected me yet. Only this morning before I went to the Dr. So far, so good.

There's a dream mood's contest?

I have no idea about that! I think that whenever there is competition or even a bunch of people getting together for something, there is always drama!

Hope everyone has a good day.

RP, go to R&R section, there are polls going...
Question for today:
Do you have an internal alarm clock? And if so, what time does it go off?

Yes, it goes off everynight at 12:30, then 2:00, then 4:00, then 6:00 and then I get up, been this way for the past 12 years.

I dont even have a clock in my room except the one on my laptop. I do have an internal clock but it doesnt have a set time. I always wake up about 10mins before I have to get up no matter what that time is... it always different.

) :loony: :cabbagepatch: :balloons:  :excited: YEAH!

Thank you oh master of the web :unworthy:

So a quick catch up: I have considered jumping our of a perfectly good airplane, but when my cousin actually asked me, my wife objected with much drama, so I remain on terra firma.

My internal clock goes off at 5:00 am standard time, that is now 6:00 am daylight time, which answers the other question.

I also have not seen or heard about the DM contest until now. I was once a runner up for Dream Moods Uncle with Kermit (aka Rainbows or something). That made me happy. I will go try to find it or them on Rant and Rave. To the point of the question. There have been times where there was much drama on here, but it has been very peaceful for the last year or so. I hope this continues. It is a great site. If we all respect each other; especially each others beliefs and opinions, we should be able to get along in harmony.

I did not get sick this year. I usually get sick about once per year. Sometimes it morphs into bronchitis. This is the first year I got a flu shot. Maybe there is something to that.

The best thing that ever happened to me was meeting my wife. Everything else good that happened to me grew out of that. I became a better person because of my love for her. We got married. Had and raised six beautiful children and now have a nice home and seven grandchildren.

So, new day, new question: Tomorrow is St.Patrick's Day. Do you celebrate and how?? (P.S. Are you of Irish descent?)

I am 5/8 Irish if you consider the background of my great grandparents. We go to St. John's Cathedral in downtown Cleveland and go to mass. There are bagpipers and choirs, quite a shindig. There we meet another family who we have befriended because of our kids friendships. We go out to breakfast, then walk to the parade site. It is a fantastic parade. Everyone downtown is wearing green. Hundreds of thousands of people. We meet my family at the parade as in my sisters, brother and their families..along with any of my kids who didn't make it to mass. I might have a beer, possible two, but that is truly it for my imbibing.

Peace,
OM

i am a mutt, but as far as i know, i do not have any irish ancestors.

Hello again,
It is a new day, but I would like to add my two cents to RPs question:
rp0059 wrote:I remember most of my dreams but it seems here lately I'm not remembering them its kinda like writers block does this ever happen to you?

Dream land is like a special magical place that you can visit, but when you leave, you have to go through this maze of levels of consciousness until you get to this world. Sometimes, you close all the doors behind you on your way out. If you wake abruptly, you often remember what you were doing back in dream land. If you have some serious issue to resolve, you get to bring the memory along with you to this world. It is like a gift. If you think of this memory of your dream as written on a piece of paper, the writing will dissolve if you ignore it too long. Sometimes you can only make out a detail or two, but when you focus your energy on it, all the words fill in.

What beverage do you "have to" have in the morning?
For me, it is orange juice. It gives me that boost of energy that I need. I used to drink regular coffee, but for a couple of reasons, I now drink decaf coffee. I still like to drink it, but only after I have my orange juice.

Re: Question of the Day

Postby operatormike on Tue Mar 20, 2012 5:50 am

Hi PK,

So I never had Mio water. I googled it. You squirt it into your water. Do you use those energy ones or the "classics"? Do they have vitamins or just flavor?

New day, the above does not count as the question of the day. I have been putting the question of the day in bold. I think that helps posters who are just skimming to look for something interesting.

So, what do you do to strengthen your will when you need to? Like when you are starting or re-starting some bad habit, something addictive, or whatever behavior that you decide to change about yourself.

I fast and pray. Right now it is Lent and in my tradition we give something up that we like. For instance, I am giving up chocolate. Now, eating chocolate in and of itself is not so bad. It is not real healthy, but, in moderation, not really so bad. I do get obsessive about it sometimes, so it can be unhealthy. But all that said, the giving up chocolate strengthens my will to give up other bad habits. This combined with prayer helps me to grow, mature, become a better person.

Peace,
OM

I actually use both. I mean I recently tried the energy one. But I use the classic ones more XD. I prefer the classic. And I did a quick google on it. It doesn't have any vitamins. So they just have flavor XD.

And to answer your new question. I usually end up seeking advice if it is something minor or I pray at night for strength if I truly do need it. I don't have any examples I can think now but they'll probably come to me later XD.

So, new day....
What do you do to relax???

After a hard day, I like to play music loud on the way home from work; that helps me unwind. Then later in the evening, my wife and I watch TV and have a glass of wine with a snack like crackers and cheese or something.

Hello All,

OMGoodness. I've been offline for a while. Sometimes I like to take a break from technology and go out into the woods!! I was going to try to answer all the questions that I've missed, but there's been quite a few. So I'll just answer OM's question of the day.

For me truely relaxing is when I can give my mind a break. I do yoga and I also meditate. I also snuggle up to my Man and try to let go. But honestly, the most relaxing times that I have ever had without "trying to" are when I go hiking in the woods or just sitting in nature.

I hope everyone is doing well!

Take care,
Ally

This is it. I'll throw on my ipod, listen to music and come visit DM or FB. This is how I visit family and friends.

I relax by watching my favorite TV shows, or sometimes cooking relaxes me.

Even though I'm sat down half the day, sitting on school chairs suck. I like to come home, since I come home at lunch 3 days a week, chill on my bed in silence with some lunch cause I hate a lot of people noise. Sometimes do some art work for school, read a bit. I like sticking my earphones in and taking my dog for a walk down the field too.
My head is tilted skyward,
eyes searching the night.

Well, this is refreshing...more than just you and me, PK!

Welcome to SG Ally, Guardian, GG, Vikki, RP and PK. Thanks for sharing. It looks like we are all similar when it comes to relaxing.

Ally is this a play on words?

OK, I am the first poster of the new day, so I get to ask the "Question of the Day":

Is the weather really whacky where you are??? Do you believe that we are causing global warming?

Here in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, we have had one of the mildest winters on record...and from St. Patrick's day to and including today, we are breaking high temperature records. It has been in the 70 and 80 degree Fahrenheit. (That's in the 20's degrees C for Vikki and other friends out there). This just never happens here.

OK, the second part. Yes, I do believe that we are putting way too much Carbon Dioxide in the air and causing a greenhouse effect that causes uneven warming and cooling of the planet and oceans. We need to do whatever we can to control this. An ice age is a possible result of carelessness.

What do you think?

Peace,
OM

I think we have caused global warming, and it will keep getting worse too. :(

Today we have a 76 high and a 62 low. Partly cloudy. Not too bad.
