violin or mandolin

Ok guys I'm getting ready to get my refund from school and I'm wanting to buy a new instrument, I'm at conflict with my self as which I should get. which would be easier to learn and to take care of etc? your advice would be so appreciated Thanks

Which ever one you like better.

I love the violin but that is me. The mandolin I dont like, it's like fiddle music or Celtic sounds.

Personal I wouldnt be worry about the one that is easier to play, play the one you most want to or think you will have the most use out of and you would enjoy more.

I would chose the violin as well, my mom's father played the violin, she still has it. The cello is another that creates beautiful music but is too large to carry about. I'd say chose which ever calls to you the most, the feel of it when you hold them, play them, try both out, one will definitely call to you more.

The easiest instrument to play is the one you enjoy the most. I own a mandolin too and let me tell you, it's a little tricky to play (not even close to the guitar, but the concept of the instrument). I'm a music guy myself and i would try to learn all the instruments
So, think about what would YOU enjoy in the first place.
