The Candy Striped Creeper

Postby Periwinkle on Wed Feb 22, 2012 3:06 pm

Last night, I dreamt I lived at a boarding house. It was a nice place, but it gave off an uncomfortably vintage vibe - the same feeling some old people's houses give me. The walls of the main hall were dark green and the floors were somewhat worn; the owners tried to hide that with a giant green rug. My room had a very different look from the rest of the house: I had a red rug, red walls, white furniture, and a candy cane bed. As I unpacked, residents warned me about the woman that haunted the house at night. They said my room was one of her favorite places to visit, but that I'd be safe as long as I pulled the covers over my head as I slept.

When night rolled around, I found I was too scared to do anything else but prepare for the woman's arrival. For some reason, I couldn't bring myself to remove my contact lenses; perhaps I figured it'd be less scary if I could see her clearly. Finally, though, I decided the woman wasn't worth risking my vision for and went to bed, covers over my head. I laid in bed for what seemed like several hours, worrying about whether or not the residents gave me the correct advice. Finally, the woman did come.

The woman's legs were mangled and she had to drag herself to get around. She wore a red and white striped dress, much like my comforter. My room was her first stop. She wandered around my room for a bit, breathing heavily as she went. Her inability to find me proved I could trust the residents of the boarding house and that I had no reason to be afraid of this woman anymore. I kept a small part of my face exposed in the covers to breathe and, at some point, our eyes met. We stared at each other for a couple of seconds only for the woman to return to what she was originally doing. I felt peace and went to sleep.

:wideeye: Sucker! Stands out with me. But you could be a treat. :candy:
Boarding house, kind of goes to the state of where your at..
Are you still waiting for BF to come back? or is this some other matter that has you under covers as you wait and see how the red stripe wraps around you?

Sounds like your unsure of the direction your headed as you travel over the green rug that old people lay out for you to walk on.

Your room sounds like hot floor to walk (red rug) action room (red walls) clean clothes (white fruniture) and striped past (bed) symbolism interp

I like the red/white comforter symbolism
you might like to research the meaning behind the "Candy Cane"
as it is striped too.

A verse also says... By His stripes we are healed/comforted

when you are under that spiritual covering (comforter)
it is much less of a big deal wether you make contact or not
(contact lenses/seeing the other side)

The dream seems to have made you FEAR-LESS

My BF was originally supposed to be here by the end of the week, but he got sick and had to postpone it to next week. It' a shame, too; the wait's driving me nuts.

I don't feel particularly unsure, career-wise. Over the summer, I flirted with the idea of working at a daycare. What I didn't know is that daycare workers need to be EEC certified. It doesn't really take much to get one: off the top of my head, a passing grade in a Child Development class and nine months supervised work in a daycare. I already have connections to a daycare where I could spend the nine months, but I need the Child Development class first. This week, I plan to look into the cost of one course at my college. If the price is too steep, I'll have to start looking elsewhere. Meanwhile, I'm still applying for teacher's aide and counseling positions. I was pissed last week because I found out about an opening at an elementary school in the town I already volunteer in. It was posted on the thirteenth and I passed in my resume on the seventeenth. By that time, the position had already been filled. Seemed awfully fast for them to just hire someone like that.

Good idea. I'll post again if anything clicks.

I've never heard of that verse before, but it makes sense in the context of how the blanket was used.

politics, politics as a lot of times post are filled before the job is created, and that is just a formality. If you want a job like that, you volunteer and work your way in... The hardest part is getting in the door, as the higher the pay the more people apply.
Is this the direction your headed. A teacher? As I thought you were thinking about going back to college and getting a higher degree. But a BF / relationship always changes things.
This dream setting is in a bedroom, so I would say it goes more to personal, than to work. I think the woman who haunts you is you as you drag around waiting...

Isaiah 53:4-5
Isaiah's prophetic words speak of how Christ's sacrifice for us would heal us. He writes that by his stripes we are healed and that he has taken our grief and carried our sorrows.

Also Jesus said to his disciples before He left them... John 14:26 “The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, what ever I have said to you”

there is also a song :whistling: "The Comforter has come" about some of these verses

2Corinthians 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort,

So... go forth and be... FEAR-LESS :rawr:
