Frogmen in the Desert

Postby roseredd on Thu Dec 29, 2011 8:30 am

I was in an Arabian-style palace that was deserted and covered in sand.
The only people there were the dead King's army of shirtless men wearing frog headdresses that rested on their shoulders which were frames with cloth pulled over them, hollow inside. Even these headdresses were so coated in sand dust they were completely tan with no details showing, just the shape of a frog's face.

As with many cultures, now that the king was dead his army was to be sacrificed so he could have them in the afterlife.
Miniatures of these men were made to be buried with the king and I was trying to get just one to take with me. I was frantic to do this.
_______________

I have been trying to think of what frogs symbolize to me, and all I can think of is that their hearts stop in the winter and when they thaw in the spring they're still alive -
So they can be resurrected. Frogs cannot survive in the desert. Also the frog prince thing, only because of all the men.
Thanks!

Frogs represent the potential for change in your life and or unexpected events. It could, however, be a pun of the "frog prince." You may have some sort of hidden potential that is trying to make itself known. Palaces can mean wealth and prominence, reaching your full potential, and your goals. Since it was covered in sand, you may not be taking the correct steps to get there. Sand may be symbolizing a waste of time, think of hourglasses. the army you saw could mean that you're feeling outnumbered and pressured and are unable to deal with the current situation, in this case, your goals. Headdresses suggest you'll win an argument, battle or negotiation. It's telling you to face your problems "head on." Seeing dead people in your dream suggests you are being influenced by negative people or are in the "wrong crowd."

Overall, I think this dream is just trying to show you how to reach your full potential so that you may fulfill your goals in life. Hope this helped :)

Thanks Madeline! :yo:

I was having trouble putting all the symbols together. The sand = wasting time and army = pressured are especially insightful.

I do feel like I have great potential, that I'm wasting time, and am overwhelmed/pressured by headstrong men in my life.
I'm still a little confused over who the dead king is if the army itself represents these men. Since the men are wearing the frog
headdresses maybe it means I hope they'll change or maybe they unexpectedly will.

Your welcome :)
Oops, I forgot about the king!

Here is the website's idea of what it means:
"To see a king in your dream indicates that success and prestige are within reach. You will rise above your problems and adversities. The king is symbolic of power and control. Alternatively, the king symbolizes your father or some father figure. You are looking for support."

It still seems to follow the rest of the aspect of the dream. the fact that they all piece together so well instead of being random should be an important sign that you pay attention to and try to apply to your life :) Because the king was dead in your dream, it could mean that you are feeling "powerless" or which ever of the interpretations apply most to your life.

Hope that cleared it up!

Like The Frog King, you might be taking advantage of your situation because you've done something for somebody or a group of people in this case. But you've caused them to venture into a place out of their natural habitat. There is a lot of sand in this dream, especially in places that the people in this dream don't want it (in the palace, on their faces), and this might symbolize that your attitude or voice might be affecting them negatively.
Because I love people.
