2011 in review!

January: started my first semester at U of L.
February: began writing poetry.
April: had my first open mic experience.
July: new phone (finally).
September: started (officially) writing a book.
December: here I am, 30 poems, 4 chapters and 100 index cards later...

July - my birthday, secured rental on a house
August - moved out, broke up with Gareth
September - started dating Tyler
October - nothing exciting
November - LONDON!!! and had operation
December - Christmas time!

quite a boring year really :-/ mostly the trivial stuff that made the year great!

Jan through to april: pregnant, tired, awake all night from heart burn.
May: gave birth to my adorable little man lucien. Mums visit.
June and july: enjoying the days with Lucien
August: brothers visit
September: back to work Lucien starts on solids.
October: first work trip for 3 days. Missed Lucien.
November: Enjoying watching Lucien grow
December: work starts in our flat.

i don't remember much, and it wasn't interesting, to be honest:

january: after a very slow 2010 holiday season at work, we suddenly were hit with an unusual size workload.
february: my youngest niece celebrated her 1st birthday. busy at work.
march: work work work. had privacy fencing installed around most of the backyard.
april: even more work with a bit of OT. i got switched to another area in my department, where i still remain. also, i developed an abscessed tooth. i had it and two other teeth pulled.
may: work and ?
june: work and ?
july: had a birthday. adopted a kitten, who is a total brat.
august: work and ?
september: work and ?
october: i really needed some time off, so i took a 6-day weekend. i was really bored and frustrated with having long hair, so i pretty much hacked it off. also i was busy working on the haunted house at my brother's house, and had fun scaring kids and adults alike on halloween.
november: got all the windows in my house replaced, putting myself in debt for a while. i also replaced the dishwasher, and got that just in the nick of time for thanksgiving, which took place at my house. also, the bitch i couldn't stand at work got fired when i got back from my vacation.
december: working like a dog, lots of OT. the fatigue made it hard for me to be motivated for xmas, so i mostly just concentrated on the kids regarding my shopping. i also got an unexpectedly huge xmas bonus, which unfortunately came with a price (layoffs for some people). i was able to pay off my credit card, for the most part, and get my brakes taken care of with the money.

January: Wrote a novella and almost killed my mom and myself as I started driving.
February: Brother moved out and went into the navy. I won a national award for writing about robots being sold to children.
March: Sent out my work and got tons of rejection. Had an intense few weeks of reading and writing non-fiction, all of the latter a failure.
April: Won a full scholarship to the Iowa Young Writers' Studio because I got bored and thought it would be fun. Became the assistant fiction editor of a literary magazine.
May: Re-evaluated what I wanted to do with my life. This was a lazy month though, full of testing and final exams.
June: Read a ton. Went to the IYWS.
July: Lazy as hell. I don't think I did anything productive during this month.
August: Reading. Got my driver's licence. Went back to school.
September: Explored poetry.
October: Read a ton. Somebody I knew killed herself. College started to make me worried. Sunk into some severe depression for a while.
November: Read more. Wrote more. College panic. Weather got a little cooler so that made me happy. Had a Thanksgiving dinner at Waffle House. Shook off the depression.
December: Crazy process of editing sixty pages of work, lost sleep, wrote and presented a literary analysis, read more, wrote more, got published for the first time on Winter Solstice.

I'll try to make this year a little more exciting than the last.

Thx. 8 months now. He's the cutest little man. His name is Lucien.
He will be crawling soon, he's started to swim across the floor.

january - a pretty depressing month. alone and injured. its was difficuilt just to get food because i had no car and a jacked up knee. became jealous of anyone i saw jogging or working out. that jealousy made me even more determined.
february - started doing light weight training to strengthen my knee and take longer walks.
march - finally was able to jog again. it felt soooo good but i became worried because sometimes the pain would come back. joined muay thai sometime around this month.
april - started to experiment with supplements for my joints and overall health. started planning my trips for the summer.
may - used the computer more before i would only use it for planning trips.
june - spent a nice 2 weeks alone at the beach. it was a beautiful time.
july - pushed my body harder. almost passed out twice from working out in extreme heat.
august - went to see my family from the new york and new jersey area. visited most of the tourist attractions. had to stay an extra week because of the tropical storm.
september - my workouts became alot more smoother and effortless. i would even pass a jogger while jogging backwards (i kid you not).
october - spent alot of time thinking about what to do next. had an amazing halloween day. a family member died.
november - not much
december - not much


2010 was by far my best year but 2011 was also amazing.
