Memories from a time gone by....

I thought as a nice thing to do in memory of my aunt I would post some photos I have taken over the years on various cameras, some mine, some other peoples. My aunt loved photography, she said myself, sister, mom and niece were all her muses. Her favorite medium was black and white photography, my avvie photo was taken by her.

I'm not asking how to improve, just sharing some photos from the last 4 years.
I'll add to this from time to time...

Every lizard/salamander I call "sallymae"

Our water is still cold in June here, lucky to get into the water in July. I'd rather hit your beaches. The birdie is a chickadee, they will eat right out of your hands, such joyous little birds.

We used to have one in my parents basement when I was younger, I made friends with it, then our cat killed it. That's life.

Some of these I played with.

These are at my parents house:

My niece on the beach I played with this and only made her in color. I like this one

My cat ( posted it in rant too)

My aunts lil kitten from a few years ago. I made the photo black and white.

This was taken by me of me on a timer but my boyfriend at the time helped out. Isn't exactly what I wanted but it looks peaceful.

Aw *huggies* Thank you, Shift. I am a sucker for a nice sunset. That one you liked was taken at a local park overlooking the basin. I like that time of day, very relaxing. I have a few more from my sail pass that I can post for you another day, have to scan those.

Thankies, Jeff. I should really update this thread with new piccies. Been lazy, I guess. I am from Canada, some of those pictures where taken away on trips, some at home here. My dad and uncle were and are in the navy so we would get to go on these great sail passes, and got a different view of things. I have really great piccies of dolphins and icebergs. I never took them though but maybe I will post just to show.

Fabulous photos Bubbydoll. The hues of autumn are so serene. I relate autumn to your title, “Memories from a time gone by” and presented in your aunt’s memory. It’s a reflective time of year when summer has passed but winter hasn’t arrived. Somehow autumn gives me a sense of ‘parting is such sweet sorrow’; when light and nature soften to a colorful sunset of seasons. I love the paths through the trees; it draws me into the photo (yearning to take the stroll) and the drama in the photo of the church is remarkable: The intricate design of the spires reaching into the heavens as to touch the clouds is inspirational. Thanks for sharing, I enjoyed them tremendously.

Aw, bless. Such a lovely reply from you, Brake4wind. Thankies. I loved how you worded it all too, I made the path ones smaller to give that close feel of wandering through the forest, and the church piccie is one of my faves, it was taken on the cheapest lil digital camera, 25 dollars I think, same as the heat waved weeping willow tree/lake ones, but I loved the feel it gave off too. Autumn is one of my favorite times of year and it is lovely here, especially where my parents live in the country.

One of my sister's has a duck pond on her property-- I feed them when ever I visit her. Your pictures are captivating and joyous, Bubbydoll-- it is nice to see what other people's surroundings and lives look like and what they enjoy, it seems not many on here share images from their lives.

I love going to the duck park, when I was littler and had to go to the Children's hospital mom and dad would always take me over to this park in the center of the city and I would get to feed the ducks and it made me feel better.

Thankies, Nossie. I need to take my old tower into get the usb port fixed and system cleaned. I bought one of those thingies that should transfer all your piccies/info over to the new tower but bc my usb ports were borked off the virus I couldn't. So I have like 500 plus photos sitting on my old system :\ But, I will try to keep adding here and there, odds and ends

Might add some more of my niece, I have a definite lacking of human subjects in this thread, haha.

I do like black and white a lot, Shara my aunt loved that medium, I like it for people mostly, and animals, only some outdoor shots. It is super cold here, tropical, we cannot even swim in the ocean in June, burr! We have a nice summer but not lots of hot days, this year we had mostly rain, not good at all. Last winter we had some pretty bad snow storms. We you live has much more agreeable temperatures.

Thankies, Jeremy. The lil girl is my niece that piccie was taken at the side of my parents home, a found bunny happened upon the party while we visited and my niece wanted to follow "her" bunny. It was very sweet, her and I then went inside and drew a picture of the bunny. It was a colored photo I switched to b&w. Well, this thread isn't really about pictures of me

Only from the past few years, some nice memories. I will add a piccie of me into the Rant Photo Thread today, to start the new year. :cheers:
