He pulls Sabe closer to him...With all his blood loss, his is getting really cold. He also saw her shiver alot. two birds one stone. Samuel is still holding Sabe's hand

"Sabe... I Don't care if you killed an entire village. You've saved me 4 times.. You've earned my trust, and my respect" He Takes a few deep breaths.

"Yes i know the village"

"It was my home...It now lay ruins. My 'official name' is Regas Sabel, I'm sure you've heard that name somewhere, right?"

She refuses to look into his eyes, "Your home was a days walk from Ogden. My crest is gold and silver with a red sheild, Sam. My family is the reason yours is dead...You can't possibly trust me now. Those men we killed, were all surviving relatives of the Ogden Massacre."

She hangs her head and for the first time in a long time, cries.

"My father killed yours. I come from a long line of assassins, but they didn't want me. I didn't look like my brothers, they are light-haired, they have light eyes of green and blue."

Sabe looks down at Samuel and then back up, "Sam, Don't move...I'll be right back." Sabe says slowly as she gets to her feet again, her eyes catching a glimpse of someone moving inside the tavern.

Sabe reaches down to one of the men lying next to samuel and pulls her shiv from his chest. She slowly creeps into the bar, despite Sam's protests.

"Who's there?" She calls out viciously, her blade held high. She hops up onto the bar and looks down on the scared little girl. "What the fuck...Sam, it's just a kid." She calls back.

"The name is Sabe...and you definately look like a kid." Sabe says defensively, ignoring Sam's complaining from outside. "Question is though, what are you doing here? You from the crew or something, making sure the job is done? I swear you take another step and my blade will be in your fucking foot." She tells her as she steps foward.

Margaret put her hands up. what the fuck have i gotten myself into? "i'm not from no crew! I swear i mean you or your friend no harm. I live here! And i run this little tavern. I saw what just went down, and it looks like your friend is hurt..." She pointed toward the man laying outside the tavern.

Samuel sits there...Stunned. The only person i have ever cared about since the death of my family... is related to the men who killed my village. Her father, her brothers...Killed mine

He sits there, emotions coming onto him, he begins to weep as Sabe walks away.

She helped you Sam... Dont punish her for her families misdeeds.

He stops weeping, and falls limp. Weak from Hunger, exhaustion, and blood loss

*Sabe hears Samuel outside*

"Sam!" She yells as she rushes to his side, "God we need to get you out of this cold..." She looks up to the young girl standing in the King's Retreat, dumbfounded. "You need to help me pick him up...I can't do it by myself."

*Sabe looks back down at Sam* "I'm sorry, for everything. For what my family did, and I can't undo the past, but I can help you..." She tells him, her eyes still tear filled. "If you'll let me..."

*Margaret slowly moves outside and looks down at the man. Sabe looks up at her* "There must be a room that wasn't damaged in the fire..."

***I write in my free time and started writing in second-person instead of third because of this, lol***

"Margaret, get him under his legs" She tells the girl as she picks him up underneath the arms.

*They slowly manuever their way yp the singed stairs. Margaret lets his feet down slowlyand opens the door behind Sabe. They get him onto a bed and Margaret leaves to get some more blankets, hot-water, and supplies.*

Sabe pulls the covers up to his chest slowly and sits on the edge of the bed, watching as he sleeps. "I'm sorry Sam. I should have told you..." She sighs and takes the blanets from Margaret with a nod, the girl leaves again. Sabe watches as Samuel shivers. she shakes her head and lies next to him, cold and tired herself. She slowly falls asleep.

Margaret busies herself with fetching more things to help Sabe and Samuel. What am i going to do now? She thinks to herself, slowly peeking in the door of the only non damaged room. The two are still passed out, both lying next to each other on the bed. "If only i knew his blood-type" she whispers.

Sabe takes it and hastily downs the strange liquid. "I'm trusting you didn't just poison me." She tells her sarcastically.

"Um, you don't have thread and a needle do you? We should probably close those cuts he has. Um, and hot water, we need to clean them out."

Margaret laughs. "Of couse I didn't poison you.. and yeah I have what you need. It's in the bar. I'll be right back." She leaves the room and heads downstairs to grab a glass of hot water and a needle and thread. "I'm back" she says entering the room again.

"Thanks." She says, "I'll take the cloth and water." She takes it and sets it on the stand by the bed. She puls the blankets back and rolls up the pantleg, hissing at the gash. "Damn it Sam, i shoulda stayed." She says dabbing at it lightly.

Sabe looks back to Margaret, 'You have any nicknames? Can I call you Maggie?" She asks smoothly as she finishes cleaning the wound. She reaches for the thread and needle.

*You notice the older cut stiched up on his leg*

"Another fight. More members of my family...You heard the story, I'm sure." Sabe hides the tears in her eyes again as she slowly starts stitching the gash on his leg. "Like he said, I saved him...It's kinda gone from there. We went from strangers to friends in a night."

this isn't safe Sabe, Sam is clouding your judgement...Get him off of your mind

"He's my best friend now. I guess that's the reason I keep saving him. I mean, besides the fact my family killed everyone he loved." She cuts the thread. "What should we do with his hand? He's missing two fingers..."

"oh.." Maggie mutters. She has heard the story only once before, but it is burned into her memory. "um, i'm not sure... i've never dealt with finger missing before." As a matter of fact, this is the first real incident i've ever dealt with..

"I Beleive there's some in that old closet over there.." She points toward the closet on the opposite side of the room. She grabs the wrap and tosses it to Sabe. "i'll see you later, i need sleep." She walks out of the room.

*Sabe says her thanks, wraps his leg and hand and lays back by his side, shivering*

"Please be alright..." She whispers as she crawls underneath the blanket on his left side, her head resting on his chest. She comfortable and not so cold and falls asleep again, tears in her eyes.

Sam begins to stir... He feels warmth around him. He opens his eyes and sees that he is in a building.

This looks familiar

He looks to his left and realizes Sabe is laying with him. Am i dreaming? Would she lay with me?

He notices the blood covered cloth on the ground next to the pale of blood colored water.

She stitched me up again. She really did come back, i thought i was seeing things.

He smiles, and wraps his arm around Sabe. Pulling her closer

*Sabe barely wakes as Sam pulls her closer, only moving her head against his chest slightly. She whimperes as his hand touches her side, it's tender from her last fight still. Shes exaushted, she'd lied about sleeping in the forest, and now she was paying for it. Five days with no sleep and injuries took it's toll on her.*

Sam opens his left eye and looks at her. He gives a light hearted smile, "You know...You could have asked to sleep with me. You didnt have to wait till i was unconscience." He looks outside, the Sun is just rising. How long did they sleep? One whole day? 2 maybe?

He Sees her wince. "What's wrong with your side Sabe?"

"How do you know I wasn't trying to take advantage of you in your sleep," she laughs, "I was cold and tired, so just slept next to you." She tells him with a smile, but she winces again as she moves to get up. "That fight in -shire, that big guy broke a table with me, literally, I mean it hurt before but I could deal with it but now it's killing me."

Her fingers barely graze over her side again and she lets out another wimper of pain, "Fuck." She hisses, "It think I bruised something. It'll be fine."

Sam sits up stil facing you. "I'm hoping if you would do that, you would at least wake me up."

He grab's Sabe's arm. "Come here, lemme take a look at that," He lifts up her shirt.

The Bruise is a nasty green and purple color. There are no breaks in the skin, but its definitely a bruise. He also takes the moment to admire her. She has a gorgeous figure...
Wait! What are you doing? Her family killed yours!
But she didnt kill me, she has had plenty of opportunity. In fact she has saved me twice now.

He puts her shirt back down, and looks at her. "Thank you for coming back Sabe. Thats twice you have saved me. I owe you more then my life is even worth"

She lets out another hiss as she lifts her arm for him to look at her side. "Like I said Sam," She tells him as he puts her shirt back down, "It's an honor system." She looks down, tears in her eyes again. "My family killed yours, if anything I owe you my life ten times over, what my family did was wrong. I can't ever take what they did back...but I'd like to think that I can fix the future as well." She tells him, her dark, haunting eyes meeting his once again.

He Stands up, he takes Sabe in his arms and holds her for a moment. 2 different paths in life, and somehow their lives have become so intermingled, he cant imagine being without her.

He kisses her on the forehead. "All is forgiven Sabe." He releases her from his embrace, "You probably need more sleep Sabe. I also need to stretch out my wound."

He looks down at his clothes "And some new clothes"

"Mm...I'm fine, I'm pretty sure we've slept a couple days...But I don't think it will make up for the time I spent awake in that damned forest." She tells him with a smile, "Maggie is down stairs, I believe. The girl helped me get you up here, and gave me something for my head. She might have something for you, and perhaps a change of clothes." She scratches the back of her head, "Will you see if she has anything for my side, while you're up?"

Sabe sits back down on the bed, "I guess it couldn't hurt to lay here a little while longer..." She laughs lightly. "I swear if I wake up with you next to me, we're going to have to do something about those odd sleeping arangments." She calls to him as he leaves the room.

She pulls the blankets back up over and drifts off once again.

Sam Smiles back at Sabe as he walks out the door. He slowly limps his way down the hall. It takes him a few minutes to get down the stairs, but he makes it eventually..

Upon getting down stairs, the first thing he notices is the smell. Maggie must be cooking something amazing

It smells like fresh cooked eggs, smoked pepper sausage, fresh milk, and homemade bread. He stomach growls loudly.

I still havent eaten in 5 freakin days

He moves down to the Bar, and sits in the spot where he meet Sabe. He looks out over the dance floor and tables. Everything is shot to hell, but he can still hear the festival. He begins to hum to himself, with the beat of the music...

*Sabe tosses and turns in her sleep, every move like a knife to her side. She sits up after a while, little sleep gained.*

"Oww..." She mutters as she pulls her shirt up to examine her side herself. It was a nasty looking bruise, perhaps she'd busted a rib or two.

*She throws her legs over the side of the bed to stand up and ends up collapsing, a shrill squeal leaving her lips as she hits her knees in tears. She refrains from touching her side as it throbs, she wipes away her tears.*

In the middle of his humming, he here's a crashing sound, and a whimper from upstairs. Sabe!

He gets up the stairs and down the hallway as fast as his bloodied leg will carry him. He swings open the door to see Sabe On the floor. Trying to hold back her tears

"Sabe..." He says softly to her as he moves to her side. He helps her back up into bed.

"You stay here ok? I will bring you some food and water." He moves back downstairs as Maggie just leaves. She brought in the wonderful breakfast made for 2.

What a god sent. He Grabs the food and drink, and takes up to the room.

Breakfast in bed for Sabe? Why yes, i do believe my brownie points just went up!

Sabe can't help but laugh as Sam limps in with the food and drink. "That looks good" She says as he sits on the bed next to her, "I must say, there is a part of me that absolutely adores you." She tells him with a slight blush. "I think I might have broken something..." She rubs at her sore side, above the bruise.

Sam lets out a little chuckle as he takes a big ol bit out of the eggs. "I've heard im the best lookin guy in town!" He lifts up his hand with 2 missing fingers. He then looks out the window and points to all the dead people in the road.

"Not that i have much competition in town!"

He holds up a wrap, "Your getting your side wrapped. It will restrict your breathing, but it will help support the ribs if they are broken."

He lets out a loud laugh, "Oh so NOW the eight finger jokes are gonna come out hu?" He smiles, and starts to wrap sabe up with a Half eaten sausage stickin out of his mouth like a Cigar.

He sems to do alright without his fingers. You can tell a few times he struggles, but overall not too bad. "Good thing it wasnt one of these 3 important ones!" He lifts up the other three.

"I cant still do alot with these!" He lets out another chuckle

Maggie knocks on the door that the two are still in. She Slowly opens it and peeks in. "Umm, could you use any help?" She asks the man with the sausage she made earllier sticking out of his mouth. Maggie might not be good at a lot of things, but cooking is her specialty.

"Me butter you up? Please, Sam. You brought me breakfast in bed, how is saying the truth buttering you up?" She laughs along with him. "Besides, who am i going to sucker into helping me out now? Maggie? She's still just a kid, Sam, she can't be any older than us...hell she's probably older than me."

She eyes the piece of sausage sticking out from inbetween his lips as he finishes wrapping her, she leans forward and snakes half of it with her teeth. "Be creative Sam, and guard your food."

He looks at himself. Brutually stabbed leg, sliced arm, bashed head, and he is missing 2 fingers. "I dont think you are gonna get much more use outa me." He takes another bite of egg.
"We might need to find you another sap to con into your dirty work." He gives her a sarcastic grin

She lays the inuendo on thick as she stares back at him with that half-lidded gaze that caught his attentions so many nights ago. She smiles at Maggie, 'You were saying something, dear?"

Maggie looks at the two in front of her, beaten up, in rough shape, but yet there was a spark in their eyes. Sabe seems nice, she wasn't quite sure what to think about Sam yet..." Oh, that? It was nothing. I um guess ill leave you to alone then, i' d rather not intrude on your..err, private life." She closes the door and walks back down to the bar to fix herself a drink.

"I think I embarrassed her," She says to Sam with a smile, "Hmm...Did I ever tell you that you have amazing eyes?" Still laying it on thick.
