So true! Whenever people ask me to explain my spiritual philosophy, I always end up saying "You cannot effectively teach this stuff, no more than you can learn it from another. It must be understood from within."

No...those who take money for their gift are not really taking it for the gift themselves. They (the real ones) take money to restore the energy they expend while using their gift.

When you read someone you expend a certain amount of spiritual energy. Afterwards, that energy needs to be restored.

And mind you, money's not the only way a psychic gets paid; some take donations, food, even simple gratitude (and speaking from personal experience you have to be careful about taking gratitude, because it doesn't restore energy as quickly).

I don't fall for the whole "taking money for readings is evil" argument. It's not.

I know a few people who think it's wrong, because they believe it's sacrilegious to be paid for using a gift from God. But consider this: There are people in Hollywood and on Broadway who sing, dance, act, etc., all the time and get paid handsomely for their efforts...and doctors do, too, for improving health and saving lives. And these are all God-given gifts. So clearly a double standard exists here. How is it okay to be paid millions of dollars for using all these other gifts--these God-given gifts--and yet it's blasphemous and sacrilegious to be paid for using the gift of psychic ability?...

Psychics who take money are not all doing it for their own gain; most of them do it for the sake of helping and reaching out to others. And they don't openly advertise themselves because they know that their line of work carries a stigma. In all fairness, though, they do have to earn a living, too, so naturally, some of it does go to them. But all psychics are not shameless con artists.

Everyone is psychic. Everyone has a spiritual connection to God. It's just that most of us, living in a world where such things are discredited by human logic and skepticism, haven't awakened such abilities. No one is "specially chosen"--God may speak to some louder than others but He-She sees all of us as equal and has blessed us with the same "cell phone" (as Sylvia Browne put it--and I do not want to hear anything about how she's "deceiving everyone" or how she's "talking to the devil"; I've heard it too much already). God spoke louder to these individuals in the days of the Old Testament because their people needed it then...just as some are spoken to the same way today, because we really need it.

Psychic abilities, sensitivities, clairvoyance, ect., is not the same thing as Biblical prophesy, imo.

Psychic abilities are to Biblical Prophesy as a python is to a jungle floor.
(A dangerous part of an ecosystem, or food chain, as in that example)

i'm a psychic medium. i first noticed my abilities in hgih school. the ability that first showed up was clairaudiance this happened durring school while i was at school. then at a friends house i had my first ever channling experience. the channling was the experience that made me realize for sure that i have these abilities. :neer:

well theory i haven't really honed that ability it's just naturaly really good. since i've noticed other abilities. other abilities such as clairvoyance. today i noticed my clair voyance is getting stronger than it was cause b4 today i only had one experience with it about a yr ago. what does dec stand for by the by?

I always saw this thread at thetop but I just ignored it lol.

But I have a question now. And PLEASE other explanations also accepted that arent too 'psychic' ( ie more understandable, not floating on air kinda stuff)

My mum has been having hunches when my cousins are going to come around. Each time she's right. It's really freaky. At first we just thought oh it was chance, but then there's a line between chance and just too much coincidence I dunno.
First she was brushing her teeth when we told her our cousins were coming. She just had this feeling right before we said that they were coming. Ok then. Next time she had a dream with them in it, nxt morning my aunty called said if mu cousins could cum over. Dream thing happened twice.
Then she's had similar 'hunches' quite many times. Like last time we were at the shopping centre and she felt that they were there, then we turn around and my cuz and aunty were there.

I dunno what to think.

She gets really freaked out when this happens. All I can say is that may be it's some kind of 'motherly instinct' because at one time they pretty much lived with us.

I don't even know what I'm asking here. Just some thing.
