Update 7/3/2010

Postby studiodc on Sun Mar 07, 2010 1:09 pm

For some reason, it won't let me edit the core post, so whenever this happens, I'll do a new update. (BTW this is my 100th post)

Will update throughout 2010 as the year progresses...

New Year's Day/2010 Top 10 (part of Big Fun Holidays) (January 1): YTV's 20 hottest programs were listed on their website in December 2009 to mark the New Year (and New Decade). On January 1, 10 of those shows were played. This was part of the 2009 Big Fun Holidays lineup, since there are several special blocks within that one giant, month-long block, I will do a special post devoted to the 2010 version of Big Fun Holidays as Christmas (and the block) approaches.
MeoWoof(January 17): A variety of pet-themed YTV shows (such as the Fairly OddParents episode where Timmy and Vicky turned into a Tom and Jerry-esque cat and mouse). Includes a marathon of Kid Vs. Kat episodes, All Dogs Go to Heaven, and the two live-action Garfield movies.
Pants On Fire Day (January 29): A variety of YTV episodes revolving around "lies that blow you up [MuscleBob BuffPants] and get you busted [iPromise Not to Tell]". Includes the aforementioned episodes of SpongeBob and iCarly respectively, plus the premiere of the How To Be Indie episode How To Party Like Chandra and the Jim Carrey movie Liar Liar.
Up, Up And A Weekend (February 5-7): "Faster than a speeding sponge..." an entire weekend devoted to superhero-themed YTV shows. Includes the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, three back-to-back Superman movies (including Superman Returns), Teen Titans: Trouble in Tokyo and the YTV premiere of the movie Zoom. "Don't fly yourself, leave flying to the pros! *clip of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy in rocking chairs from their first appearance. Up, up, and away!* Or not."
Valentine's Day/Big Fun Crush Week (February 8-14): A full week of love-themed YTV shows in celebration of Valentine's Day. Includes the Drake and Josh episode Girl Power ("underwear goes under" ), How To Be Indie, a marathon of love-themed iCarly episodes, and movies such as New York Minute (which was actually filmed in Canada because it's cheaper to shoot movies there), Ever After: A Cinderella Story, Just My Luck, and A Cinderella Story.
[Big Fun] Family Day (February 15): A variety of family-themed YTV shows for the hopefully (thanks to the World's Longest Signature) newly Canada-wide Family Day event. Similar to Big Fun Music Week back in August 2009, Pump Up The Weekend includes the SpongeBob episodes Band Geeks ("Is mayonaise an instrument?") and Krabby Road, new How To Be Indie episode How To Be Ridonkulous, David Archuleta's guest appearance on iCarly (in the episode iRocked The Vote), and the movies Raise Your Voice (with Hilary Duff), Spectacular! Thanksgiving and Halloween

Postby studiodc on Tue Oct 05, 2010 10:16 am

Thanksgiving (October 11)
Most US members should know that we in Canada have Thanksgiving a lot earlier, the second Monday of October as opposed to the fourth Thursday in November. On that day we have four animated films, including a Land Before Time double feature with The Great Day Of Flyers and The Wisdom Of Friends, as well as Surf's Up and Ice Age, plus a special episode of How To Be Indie called How To Be Thankful, in which Indie vows to show the world the most regular, normal Thanksgiving dinner ever when a clueless reporter asks her one too many questions about her Thanksgiving tradition.

Halloween/Fang-Tastic (October 16-31)
A variety of Halloween YTV shows and movies. More in special post

In this 2000 flick, a spooky new neighbour arrives along with mysterious fog enshrouding the neighbournood, and Alvin insists he hears howling at night. Later, Alvin Meets Frankenstein when the Chipmunks discover that Dr. Frankenstein and his beloved monster are inhabiting a world famous movie studio.
-After the first of two Alvin movies (see above) it's Halloween again, and SpongeBob SquarePants is the easiest scare in town. And on Casper's Scare School, Professor Thurdigree Burns learns of a medieval themed restaurant in Deedstown and goes there seeking revenge against the knights who chased his ancestors into near extinction in Dragon Quest, and in Opposite Day, Wolfie’s experiment with moonlight goes awry.

October 19:
-On an episode of Casper's Scare School, the kids go to Deedstown and find that no one is afraid of them.

Big Fun Holidays part 3

Postby studiodc on Thu Dec 09, 2010 10:57 am

December 13:
-On Santapprentice, Nicholas is worried that Santa might take early retirement and finds a way of taking his mind off things – sorting old ‘letters to Santa’ in the attic. Later, Nicolas is snowed under: between school, the Factory and his apprenticeship, he doesn’t have a moment to himself anymore. If only he had a magic wand to do everything!
-In Merry Christmas Drake And Josh, a spinoff of the hit show Drake And Josh, the boys promise a little girl that her foster parents and siblings will have "the best Christmas ever." It's a pledge that's tough to keep after Drake's antics at a holiday party land responsible Josh in jail.

December 14:
-Engrossed in his favourite pastime, Santa is busy creating a new toy when his invention explodes in his face! Nicolas comes to the rescue and discovers that the shock has given Santa amnesia on Santapprentice. Then, in the middle of a storm, Santa picks up Circella, a beautiful young woman, who is semiconscious. Nicolas is sceptical about her identity.
-A new episode of The Penguins Of Madagascar. In The All-Nighter Before Christmas, The New York Zoo is closed only one day out of the whole year - Christmas. To rejoice the season the animals take over the zoo for "Kidsmas;" their annual celebration complete with decorations, food, gifts and Santa.

December 15:
-On Santapprentice, Nicolas unintentionally sets the snow monster free. At once, the dragon unleashes a ferocious storm. Santa, who has set off along the ice-bank to collect a delivery of spare parts, is trapped in the middle of the tornado.
Then, letters from young parents are pouring into Santa’s House, asking for the musical mobile Santa brought them when they were little.
-A Kung Fu Panda holiday special, followed by a brand new Holly Jolly Special hosted by The Zone's Carlos Bustamente and featuring your favorite YTV stars as well as a new song from this year's The Next Star Top 6. http://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/the-ne ... d406226733

December 16:
-On Santapprentice, Maurice, the son of Santa’s best childhood friend, arrives at the North Pole. He’s an old magician who loves his job so much he won’t face the facts: his show doesn’t crack any ice and he’s too old to go on the stage. Later, Nicolas is keen to leave his ‘mark’ during his time as Santa and tests the idea of breathing new life into those little details that make Christmas traditional.
-In the new special Merry Madagascar, Alex, Marty, Gloria and Melman take over a big job on Christmas.

December 17:
-What if Santa were Nicolas’ father? Nicolas firmly believes it. Santa chose him from amongst thousands of others: it’s a sign. And Santa loves him like a father on Santapprentice. Then, during a training session, Nicolas discovers he lacks the patience required to deal with his problems. Luckily, Santa knows a little trick that will allow Nicolas to relax when he finds himself in difficulty.
-The Zone gets into the holiday spirit, starting with a winter-themed Fairly OddParents, followed by a holiday League Of Super Evil episode, The Night Before Chaos-mas. Also includes a winter SpongeBob SquarePants, the Christmas Penguins Of Madagascar, and classic Christmas episodes of Fairly OddParents and SpongeBob.
- It's A Wonderful Life is spoofed on a special Christmas iCarly. When Spencer accidentally sets fire to all of Carly’s presents, she wishes that she had a normal brother. A Christmas angel then visits Carly and shows her what her life would be like if Spencer were normal. Followed by a special holiday Big Time Rush, guest starring iCarly's Miranda Cosgrove.
-Call Me Claus, followed by the YTV premiere of This Christmas.

December 18:
-Crunch, YTV's Saturday cartoons lineup, also gets into the holiday spirit, with several of the shows mentioned in The Zone's Christmas lineup, as well as a Kid Vs. Kat Christmas special, the SpongeBob episode Survival Of The Idiots, and a new Sidekick episode, Beneath the Missile-Toe.
-Specials all day! In A Year Without Santa, Mrs. Claus tells the story of the year that Santa Claus decided to take a holiday. But when the elves show Santa all the toys they are preparing, Santa dons his red suit and drives his gift-laden sleigh for his annual rounds.
-Followed by A Miser Brothers Christmas, Casper's Haunted Christmas, Yogi's First Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas, It's Christmas Time Charlie Brown, A Flintstones Christmas, Tis The Season To Be Smurfy, Garfield's Christmas Special, He Man and She Ra Christmas Special, Alf's Christmas Special and the YTV Holly Jolly Special.
