INTRODUCE YOURSELF! ^__^

..actually, if i could say a bit more here, im 31 and have two years of philosophy under my belt, i enrolled mainly due to my interest in spirituality and dreams, and how our dreams really do mean so much to who we are. To me theyre spiritual journals, the truth of who you are, beyond all the ego and external humanity that can seem all encompassing. Ive been studying my dreams ever since i can remember, and have learned that theres so much more to learn...
Ill admit right off the bat that i, like probably so many others, own a rough childhood, which has a direct influence over who I am and subsequentially what i dream...
without my dreams id be lost in my own imagination id say...
they say the truth is out there..
im of the belief that the truth is actually held within...

on that note i look forward to meeting others who are like me, i feel that this may be the place to do so...
after reading a bunch of the posts i finally got the nerve to sign up...
as i dont sign up to much, if anything on the computer...

Hello - New here tonight- I stumbled upon this very cool place in search of like-minded people who dream as I do - and search for answers to my dreams. I dream every night - and remember much some nights - only fragments other nights.

I have many questions, and I also have some answers to share.
My Name "Waking Life" is an ode to a Richard Linklater film about lucid dreams.
If you haven't seen it yet, you may like it. It rocks.

Plot
Waking Life is about a young man in a persistent lucid dream-like state. The film follows its protagonist as he initially observes and later participates in philosophical discussions that weave together issues like reality, free will, our relationships with others, and the meaning of life. Along the way the film touches on other topics including existentialism, situationist politics, posthumanity, the film theory of André Bazin, and on lucid dreaming itself.

I'm Charles(at school), Coco(at home and at parties), and people on the net just call me Chad. I like to think deeply on everything and anything. But it usually ends up with me thinking and not speaking. I was a little indecisive before, but now I'm not sure.....anyway...I never take anything further than it needs to be. Basically I'm "that guy that always hangs at the back of the group and never wants to open up". I only open up to people that I really trust...which would be...um.....well no one in particular. i am going to college in september if i get the grades - if not then i am going to try and get a job at an activity centre doing mainly archery and kayaking.
i would love a pet snake or lizzard or somthing

but mum keeps saying no

i play senior hockey and my team have recently been promoted into the next league up - im not sure if im happy about that or not as im the goalkeeper which means people hitting the hockey ball at me harder than im used to :S
i also am part of the guiding movement and through guiding had my own radio show - until the community station i was at went bust :\
anyway enough of my random mumblings...

I'm Patti. I'm 45 yrs old and have been married to Shawn for almost 25 yrs. We have 2 beautiful kids; a daughter who's 23 and a son who is 19.
I'm originally from central California but relocated to Austin Tx in 2005 and I absolutely LOVE it here!
I am a certified medical assistant but am now disabled due to fibromyalgia and reumatoid arthritis.
I have 2 dogs; Archie (a 6 year old Norfolk Terrier mix) and Scooter (a 4 year old miniature Dapple Dashaund).
I love hitting the clubs in downtown Austin and listening to live music. Austin IS the live music capital of the world and has the best local bands...hands down! I like beer and am a member of the "420 society"...and consider myself a free-lance hippy!

i'm never very good at these 'intro' things but here goes:

i still consider myself a bit new to the world of dreaming since i've only been actively dreaming now for a little over a year after having lost the art of dreaming during most of my adult life. for the most part, i tend to remember most of my dream sequences and keep a rather detailed dream journal. i record the more interesting dreams, or the ones that seem to convey messages or subconscious thoughts. :lol:

it's curious how sometimes the mind interprets day to day events.

i'm pretty tired tonight but i thought i'd post up an intro anyway - i signed up a few days ago but hadn't found the intro thread until now.

anyway, i find the dream moods dictionary to be a great resource for dream interpretation, but i am now very interested in learning more about lucid dreaming. there is a chance i might be setting the dream bar a bit high since i had my very first flying dream only recently (!) but i am very eager to learn more about such techniques.

well, thanks for reading my rather long-winded intro and i hope to learn more about dreaming and lucid dreaming.

i take pride in my sleepin ... and all the dreams i remember according to how great it is ...
im very poetic... ive won contests ...
i skate ,... ive won competitions, i love to do it
i sing ,... i've won competitions .. i love to do it
i can spell ,. i won my 4th grade spellin be so dont correct me ... i use slang to save me about 20 minutes of typeing a day

i just enjoi to do anything that makes me happy ....
but im very chill .... i use to smoke weed... i quit ... im joining the reserves next month for college funding im gunna study pscycology
im not very steriotypical but very agrumentive on peoples point of view on things... i care to hear everything ...
but i dream alot of stupid wierd crazy things so i looked into here i am : D .
