The man with no face

Postby jenster on Sun Jun 17, 2012 6:20 pm

I have had the exact same dream about 3 times - I wish it would come back so that I can get further but it hasn't in long time.

So its almost like I am transporting myself into a future time (I dont know why I think this? but I just get a strong feeling that I am either really there reflecting back at my life before or I am being shown what my future holds?)

The same dream goes like this:

I am at a party in a very large house that has polished marble floors, someone is playing a grand piano, people are sipping champagne, eating canapés and obviously celebrating something.
I look down on myself to see that I am wearing an exquisite green taffata dress (not something that I would usually go for!) but it feels and looks amazing.
As I stand and look onto the party from the corner of the room two children - 1 boy dressed in a mini penguin suit like the rest of the men at the party and 1 girl that is wearing a mini version of my dress run to me tug my dress and exclaim 'mummy, mummy come and look at this'
Intrigued I start to move but I can't. Instead a hand rests on my right forearm of a man wearing a penguin suit and he says 'darling are you ok?' i look up towards his face and get as far as a beard (I don't usually go for guys with beards) and I wake up without seeing the face or following the children even though I have tried to stay in the dream longer it always plays the same scene.

Just to add I have had this dream on about 3 occasions but it is so profound that it has stayed with me as it felt more like a tele-transporattion than a dream and the colours were vivid (which I am told is not normal or impossible to dream in colour) First time I was about 16 then the other 2 times in my twenties.
I am now in my early 30's I am single, not married and with no kids

Can anyone shed some light on what this dream/experience means ?

Thanks

Here are a few comments based on my experience, though some of these will be stating the obvious.

When you have that 'teleported' feeling it doesn't mean that the event will happen, or even that it can happen. But it wants to happen somehow. For example, if you wind up not getting married, or have an accident that makes you unable to have children, afterwards you can still have 'premonitions' about the kids you would have had if things had gone differently. But if nothing obstructs the event that you dreamed about, it may happen very much like you dreamed it.

One possible reason the man's face isn't filled in may be that no particular person has been slotted into that role yet. Another possible reason is you don't know how to reach that knowledge with your feeling and incorporate it into an image. Or it may be that if you did recognize the face, it would alter your behavior in a way that goes against what wants to happen.

A man who you would marry in your mid 30's is likely to be different than who you would have considered when in your 20's. Hence the beard. A downside of this is that it can be difficult to bridge the values/personality gap with your spouse. An upside is you can have a more enriching experience if you do manage. Also what your future kids need usually isn't exactly what you thought you needed.

It is common to dream in color, in fact many people see colors in dreams that are more vivid than those they have seen while awake. I remember dreams from every night, and if a dream contains visual imagery at all it is pretty much always in color. But of course that's irrelevant to whether your color dream has special significance to you.

I hope that helps. Best wishes.
