A Scary Dream

Postby Dreemr on Fri Jun 01, 2012 1:17 pm

There is a dream I had that has stuck with me. There are a few key details I remember. I know i was in a graveyard. I headed toward a large, gray building. It was raining fairly hard. In fact I only remember gray in that dream. And black. And white. You could say it was in black and white. Anyways, as I approached the building I knew I was desperate to find someone. And i was running from someone. Or something. I tried the doors. They were locked (or there were no doors). Either way it was impossible to get in. I climbed the building and stood on a balcony.I clearly remember gargoyles. I looked over the edge and saw someone I knew. I stood up on the edge, knowing in was very slippery. Suddenly a dark cloaked figure jumped from the roof. I felt like i knew them, but i didn't. This surprised me and i slipped. I was able to hold on to a gargoyle and i reached for the figure's hand. The rain seemed to pour heavier. I pleaded with the figure, but it only stood there. I started to slip. I looked down. The person who was standing there was gone. Only stone awaited my fall. The figure was speaking, and I was speaking. I don't remember what we were saying but I knew it was passionate. Very heart breaking. I was able to convince the figure to help me, but as they reached for me I slipped and fell. I awoke in tears.
Please note some details may be invalid. This was a dream from a while back and I may have some of these details mixed up.

It sounds a lot like my late brother's burial plot that you came upon. He was cremated. Some people want to practice necromancy and bring him back and I will say be careful what you wish for! My brother is protective of me and my mom, and doesn't want to be bothered by silly nuts anymore. He guards me in my house from danger, because he was a good brother I could depend upon. I think these nuts and their stupid problem with me and my mom is bordering on the pathetic.
I think you reached out for the gargoyle, because you would do anything to escape this Druidic presence. I think you are seeing that ashes to ashes, dust to dust, that the soul lives on and guides us toward salvation. There is no point in turning to a demon or incubus during your trying times. Good prevails over evil eventually and that is the will of God.
I think you should go to Stonehenge in England and see the stone age clock the Druids set up to tell time and celebrate their harvest festivals and the seasons and see that your ancestors weren't stupid, just more interested in the matriarchal ways, like from Crete and Mycenae. Open your mind to different religions and have fun! :cabbagepatch: :P :)

It's like that movie Pet Cemetary. People need to let people rest in peace. Bringing someone back from the dead is a no no! Forgive my bitchiness but people don't want to be disturbed in their final resting place. Thank you for respecting my family's wishes and being considerate of privacy. :)

It looks like you might have been feeling down around the time of the dream (graveyard, gray building, rain, black and white vs. color) but you possibly weren’t really very aware of this situation, so the dream tried to show you what was really going on at the time.

The person that you were trying to find might have been yourself, the real you, and the person chasing you could have symbolized certain feelings of feeling low that could maybe “overtake” you if not dealt with effectively enough over time.

Depending on how long ago you had the dream and whether this type of feeling is sometimes currently around or not, the problem might arise that, unless you’re able to penetrate and understand the reasons for having some dark moods (can’t get into the building), you might try to overcome them by “going too high up” (climb the building onto a high balcony) and getting too far away from your own “earthy reality” as a person (someone you know on the ground).

Gargoyles of course are grotesque stone creatures mostly found on old churches and cathedrals. They were meant to warn people about the horrors of hell, but their connection with water (they often served as conduits for rainwater away from the building) points to the idea that certain overly rigid ideas that tend to reject too much the instincts (the natural flow of water) can tend to become “dangerous” (high up on slippery ledge).

Also, from a psychological point of view, “hell” can be viewed as instinctive feelings that “torture” a person because they have never been properly faced head on and dealt with over time but have been relegated to the unconscious mind too much.

The dark figure who appears could represent a “retaliation” of the instincts for being “imprisoned in stone” as it were.

The ending of the dream might have pointed towards the need to become more “passionate” and “emotional” again as soon as possible.

This idea of being more loyal to your Feminine emotional and instinctive nature probably appeared in your other dream in the form of the beautiful moon.

Also, perhaps that dream was hinting that you SHOULD be angry that you might apparently be cut off from the “real you” and your emotions too much (angry that everyone is laughing and having a good time; later you realize “the person I am viewing this dream from isn't me”).

Again, the “retaliation” against such a situation could be an “attack” (the wolf) which can take the form of things like feeling anxious or down for no real reason, or in having too many headaches etc. etc.

The brilliant blue glowing leaves on the oak in your other dream could symbolize that sometimes you might be too caught up in the intellectual and “mind” side of things (symbolized by the color blue as well as the implied wind that blows through trees).

If so, the dream could be hinting that this is not really natural for you (the leaves should be green).

Also, an oak almost always symbolizes the unique potential of a person and the idea is possibly implied that “mind” isn’t really the right way for you to go as your main destination in life.

Being with the band members probably shows that sometimes, you don’t feel worth very much because the real you isn’t really being lived in enough, so there might tend to be understandable fantasies of wanting to be seen as “very in” and valuable as a person etc.

Hiding from the guy who possibly really could be a life-long match as opposed to hanging out with Linkin Park might suggest that you haven’t yet found a good enough balance in your life between emotion and such skills as thinking, assertiveness and focus for example.

However, without knowing anything much about you, this approach to your dreams may not fit your personal circumstances very well, but I hope these ideas can be helpful in some way.
