Recurring Dream - Disjunctive Cognition

Postby Amity on Sun Jul 29, 2012 2:35 am

I've been experiencing disjunctive cognition in a few of my dreams (a disparity between appearance and identity - you recognise the person as someone you know but they may take on a different appearance). Some of these dreams are recurring, and the most memorable of these involved a guy I have been seeing lately, who changed appearances at various times throughout the dream. He also seemed to keep disappearing; from what I remember we were headed to a concert but as we were walking to the venue (through various and completely random seeming places including a shopping centre and a movie theatre) he would wander into darkness and I wouldn't be able to keep up. This happened a few times and I was eventually able to find him again. At some point I remember sitting down and giving up for what seemed like a prolonged period of time, before I took up the search again and found him sitting talking quite contentedly to a friend, although at this point I think we had missed the concert. I remember a feeling of general uncertainty and sadness throughout this dream, particularly at the times when I lost him, and the relationship at present is rather confusing as I am not sure how he feels about me. What could this possibly mean?
