Woke up screaming and kicking

I had this dream that there are big red wings flapping very fast next to my bed where I am sleeping, flaping noise was very loud and I am screaming and moving my arms and kicking with my legs those wings. I am screaming for wings to go away, I did not see any bird, just the wings. I woke up kicking and screaming. What is this mean?

If this is one and only one dream, I wouldn't get too concerned.
If it does happen now and then or even just once it is probably a case of REM atonia or muscle atonia - this is when your brain paralyzes you while you dream so you cannot get up and move around and thereby hurt yourself.
(Some people even learn how to unlock doors and windows in their sleep!)
People who come awake during REM sleep believe what is happening is real - they feel, hear, see and smell terrifying imagery.
That is probably what happened to you.
