Well, you got a friend in me.
Same thing happens here.
But don't expect too much. I realized i won't be of much help.
The force (that held me down) is too powerful too me.
I could barely even move.
Everytime it happens, i just end up falling asleep.
Really, I couldn't move. i couldn't even open my eyes (if i've shut them already). That's the only thing i can do.
I ever fight once, trying to break free from the force. But i end up exhausted and still, i'm on the exact same position.
I get tired from struggling and guess this: what's the best thing to do after struggling?
That's right. Having a long nice rest.
You see, either way i end up the same, so whenever it happens, i just try to sleep.

Good luck with your search of answer, though..

This is the answer

Postby midnight_screamer on Sat Jan 02, 2010 3:18 am

When your body drifts into REM sleep, your brain paralyzes your body to keep you from acting out your dreams. As you slowly start to wake up, you slowly gain control of your body. This explains feeling like you are being held down, or cant move!

Sounds like you're describing sleep paralysis, an unexplained sleep disorder. Its got a lot of scientific theories, but a lot of cultures believe that sleep paralysis is caused by supernatural events, so its open to discussion :P

Its not a sleep disorder, its an actual force holding your down. I know this because i too have experienced it. But the difference is i saw what it was. It was a dark mist. Right over me. Its never good to see shadow figures, they represent the darkness and negativity. They try to attack because we are a threat to them!

It's sleep paralysis.
It's just the phase of sleep before REM(when you dream).
We go through it every night.
All it is is your body paralyzing itself so that when you dream you don't actually go off sleepwalking or doing whatever you're doing in your dream. To explain the "mist" the user above me was talking about is that sometimes sleep paralysis comes with hallucinations leading people to think demons are doing it.
To escape paralysis all you have to do is either wriggle your toes a little, or swallow hard.
It's nothing to be afraid of.

There are times where i just leave my body and im awake the whole time, yes my body is technically paralyzed but there were definitely times when something was acting upon me to do so. I know this because ive see angels and demons and spirits. Sleep paralysis is not a disorder if it happens to everyone. I do believe that you lose feeling of your physical body when you sleep, like, obviously, but when you experience being held down is different than sleep paralysis. Not all the time tho. Ive experienced alot of phenomena when sleeping. But i know that there are beings that act on you when sleeping. They manipulate your dreams or come into contact with you. Ive been in my full mind in other worlds and come into contact with extra dimensional energy beings. I know alot about this kinda stuff, ive been dealing with it my whole life lol

Yeah, don't think too much of it.
It happened to me a lot, well, maybe a bit different. I felt really uncomfortable and each time I tried to struggle, my body would feel like its being placed into uncomfortable positions, but I knew it was all in my head. I just calmed down, took deep breaths, and cleared my mind of all thought. Yep, its a form of meditating i guess, but the point is, just relax, it worked for me, hopefully it will to you.

Heard it before: not to sound alarming but this is an actual demon holding you down, all of you. they're called "strangling ghosts" and they try to strangle you in your sleep. Someone saw it right? It was one of those shadow people, right? You felt a negative presence, right? It all fits in. I've heard this story hundreds of times. Some say its a ghost, some say its sleep paralysis, 75% say its a demon/shadow person/strangeling ghost. I personally have never experienced it, but I know for a fact that demons can interfere with one's sleep

My husband has something like this he has worse tho since 6 yrs old there has been something asking him to join them and in dreams hed have test of strength different types but each time hed pass the test and when it asked hed say no at 11 yrs old when he told it no w/e it was put his claws into his chest and lifted him up and said join me again he said no and started to fight him he could not wake up at all when he did wake up the next morning he was across the room in a corner with the claw marks in his chest as if they had been there awhile and healed. he has dreams of 3 evil witches which do not allow him to wake up and recently he had one of a female ghost coming out from his pillow and trying to possess him he is very strong as he could tell what he can only see as the devil he would not join him but he couldnt fight this he couldnt wake up from it the only way she went away was when he started thrashing around it woke me he accidently kicked me and when i started shaking him to get him to wake up its as tho it instantly went away. but yea this is not just your body stopping u from sleepwalking some cases yes but more intense like this is not he has the same kind of feelings and me i get them when i have blankets over me or something on my feet or legs but yet theres never anything there that i see holding the blanket down and it feels like its on my feet or legs but again i see nothing. you cannot instantly say this is what it is too 1 someone u dont know 2 your no expert and even if u were u wouldnt be able to correctly assess that person online

hi ,im gonna try to explain this very quickly..you are being oppressed by the demonds, like what another replied to you they attack you cause they want to keep you bound, you must be trying to do something good cause thats when it usually happens..it used to happen to me all the time especially when im trying to get right with God,i use to be afraid but i fought it with saying (i rebuke you in the name of Jesus)sometimes i couldnt even speak cause it wouldnt let me,but i wouldnt give up and i would scream for Jesus and it would leave by me just saying Jesus name, you can ask any pastor to tell you about this or show you in the bible where it tells you about being oppressed..for some people the closer you get to God it will attack you more but dont give up cause greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world..you are special and the demond knows it so keep fighting God will pull you through these spiritual battles..

Yup! theyve tried to kill me and they have also had sex with me. Messed up i know. but it all stopped once i realized they dont actually have power over me. Its like the power of a lie. Its not really a lie if you know its not true, then its just a false statement. The point of a lie is to play off the unknown. Thats what they are doing but with fear. If they make us afraid of them, then they have the power, but if we realize they are afraid of us, THEY GOT NOTHIN!

i too have been a victim of this and i agree with a little of all your replies yes i do think that there isa scientific reasoning to it (sleep paralsis) but also i think there could also be some paranormal approach as well have u ever heard of the old hag this is what is holding me down on a regualar basis.i know when she is near and approaching but as much as i try to move or scream i am unable too paralysis sets into my limbs. she is a crikety old lady with long bony fingers and a wheezing breath long scragly hair and big eyes she gets to touching my throat as if to choke me out i feel her cold hands around my throat the wake up i have had this dream since i was five year old constant every night till i was about 15 years of age and on and off again till the present i am also 30 now. i have done some research and apparently if you are under some majorstress or strain in your life and if your health is not the best these factors can increase the old hag to present your self to her. i have read that if you change your lifestyle and get away from the stress even in some small ways the hag's strength is lessened. trying to eat healthier and exercise can promote physical and mental health which can also play a part in the old hag if you are prone to mental illnesses like depression, anxiety by polar etc or have them in your family u are more likely to experience the old hag. i have also done some paranormal research and have found that if you have somebody who can be with you while your in the dream they can help u wake up quick by sprinking table salt around u in a protective circle on the bed and saying your name 5 times in a stern loud voice this will weaken the hag's strenght and allow the dreamer to wake take from this what u will i just hope those of u find some relief in what ever you may decide to beieve or do blessed be

Postby Millitantmind12 on Fri Jan 08, 2010 4:48 pm

I actally experienced this twice and twice only. It was in the same apartment in 2 different rooms. My sister experienced this once as well in the same apartment. It has never happened again and I dont think it ever will. I was trying to go to sleep but was WIDE awake. All of a sudden I could not move one bit. I heard a loud wind noise coming from somewhere but the window was closed. I tried to scream for help or move my lef against the wall to prove that I could move, but I couldnt. I tried to scream to my sister that was next door for help but I could not say a word. I tried to move any part of my body but was unable to. It was around 1-2 o'clock in the morning and I was sober (no booze, drugs ect.) When I finally explained this to my sister, she told me it happened to her as well when she was going to try to take a nap. It has happened to neither of us again and the loud wind noise happened to both of us. I honestly think it was something holding us down but have no other way to explain it. Sleep paralisis makes sence if it happened in another place even once. I think it was something in that apartment. Any responce or relation to anyone else's experiances would be greatly appreciated or even an explanation! thanks

it's funny, for a while i thought that i was just going crazy or having some really unusual sleeping problems, but it's somewhat relieving to come on here and read about people who experience the same thing as i do. im still not quite sure if its actually an entity or some form of serious exhaustion or something. or maybe im just trying to convince myself its really nothing, i still havent quite decided.
but, when my sleeping "problems" started happening, almost a year ago, it was right after my friends and i had decided to try out a ouiga board in a cemetary to see what would happen. i know i know, it was really stupid to do. but we were pretty ignorant at the time and had never tried one. since then i've experienced some serious sleeping paralysis which ive never had problems with before, and while im in this state strange things will happen. my body will start tingling, sometimes ill hear loud whispering in my head, my room will creek non stop at night, and sometimes ill get this feeling like im separating from my body. my dreams have been interfered with strangely a couple times, one being the first time all of this started happening and twice just the other night. i'll be having a very normal dream and then suddenly the atmosphere will go gray, all the people who are with me in my dream will either disappear or hide so im left standing completely alone. ill jerk out of my sleep to find myself completely paralyzed, unable to even talk. sometimes ill even wake up in a position that i cant breath it so ill be fighting to get out. it scared the hell out of me when it first started happening, but ive been doing my best to ignore it which has helped, but it still hasnt completely gone.

when these things first started to happen to me i was completely terrified. my best friend's aunt is sensitive to the supernatural and gave me some advice that really helped my situation. you have to try blocking it completely out of your head all the time. i know i can often hear it or feel it coming and when i do i just start thinking really hard on any random topic. even if you can feel it touching you or hear it creeking and moving, dont give any notice. it wont be easy, but if you give into your fear it has complete power over you. if you let one bad thought in, it can sense your fear and it will work off of that to gain control. the only thing to fear is fear itself.

Ya i was completly mind blown when i found this site and started reading all the dreams on here its good to know im not alone all though i wish it wasnt cause of these hellish nighmares. I strongly believe that its evil very evil the devil is trying very hard to over power and get as many on his side that he can before the end comes and they do feed off of your fear and weekness they are only as strong as you will let them be. I have had bad dreams for as long as i can remember and i have had quite a few of the ones of being held down but.... Just a few weeks ago was the first time i have had the dark figure come in through my bedroom door come over to me and was trying to have sex with me it was awfull i could see my husband laying next to me and im trying my hardest to scream, move, anything but i cant!! When i come out of my nightmares i just pray and pray i asked for my loved ones that have passed to come be with me and help protect me from the evil. I walk my house asking them to leave over and over through all the windows door ways everything . I have a boxer hes a very smart dog i have had him since he cas 6 weeks old and i catch him laying in front of my bedroom door staring he stays their i know he sences things and i believe he trys to keep them out !!! Never open a door for them in any way cause once you to their in to stay !!

It has never been while I was sleeping, or even close to sleeping. Also for the people who it happens more then a couple times to and frequently, it definately is something to do with where you are sleeping whether it be a house or an apartment. When it happened to me I told my sister about it and she said it happened to her once too. We moved from that apartment and it has never happened again. I was thinking it is a minor form of possesion but I could be mistaken. Does it happen even when you sleep outside of your normal bed?

Yeah it ever happened when i was sleeping outside of my normal bed.
In fact, i ever had it when i was sleeping on a motel.
We (my family and i) were travelling to another city and it getting dark and we haven't reach the destination so we just look for the closest motel to stay over the night.
It happened when i was nearly sleep. The next day, i woke up with my pajamas wet because of my sweat. :(
It's so uncomfortable..
My mom then asked me why is my pajamas wet and why was i sweating.
I told them that i felt of being pinned down, etc and i asked them if any of them experienced the same thing or not.
Apparently, i was the only one who experienced that thing.

I think that it is either something like paralisis in your body or a force of some kind.im guessing it is the second one bye far.this force could possibly follow you.

I am an older soul now. I have read through all of the shared events of all of you, some with the opinion that this is a sleep disorder, some saying this is a demon, or strangling ghost.

Now I need to share my experience with you. In my much younger days, when I was a young wife and mother, I had my first experience of being held down by something. This kept happening many times, and for many years. At first I was scared, to the point that I was afraid to go to sleep because it might happen again. Then after years of this happening I grew stronger, and was not afraid anymore, but, very tired of the game. I call it a game because I felt like I was being played with when in my vulnerable sleep state. I went from being afraid, to now being angry. I would get so angry everytime it would happen. I felt tricked. But, through all of this one thing I got really good at was knowing what the feeling of how it started felt like. Pretty soon I got to where, not everytime, but sometimes, because I knew that holding you down feeling, and I felt it coming on, I would wake up and intercept it. After much thought, I decided to get me a dimmer switch and put it on my bedroom lamp light. I slept with the dimmer switch on so I could see in my room at night. It was just enough so that could also see the clock. I started tracking the time of these events. They were happening around 3AM in the morning. I thought that was really strange. Some of you might night think so. But, 3AM is the bewitching hour. One night I woke up to laughter of a man, it sounded demonic, bouncing off the wall. I looked at the clock, it was 3AM, I was awake and could still hear the laughter. The I didn't say anything to anyone. I didn't want to scare my kids, I definately didn't say anything to them, or ask them if they heard anything. But, my 12 year old daughter came to me and told me what she heard. She said she was asleep in bed and woke up to this loud, horrible, evil laughter. She said she was so scared she could not even get out of bed. Then I knew, I was not the only one who heard it, that thing. Then another time, not long after, I was asleep in bed, with my dimmer light on, I felt that feeling oh too well, that holding you down feeling. Like I had said before, sometimes I was able to intercept it. This time I was too. My eyes opened. I could see around the room. I felt the presence of something there, someone, it felt male. It always felt male. It felt evil I looked around very carefully. I could not see anything. But, I knew what I felt. I was laying on my side, with by back almost against the wall, and my head propped up on pillows. I had fallen asleep that way. My eyes kept searching the room. I knew it, he was there. Then all of a sudden I knew where he was. I turned my head towards my wall, that was the only place left, and there it, he, that thing was! You need to listen now. All of you. Let me discribe him, it for you. First he was hovering in air, lightly, and already slithering up the side of the wall to my knee. This would explain the holding me down feeling. But, he was not on me yet. The craziest thing, he, it was blue. Yes, that is right, BLUE! And transparent, but, not completely. I say he was a Demon. Or, maybe trying to mimick someone who died... but, he, it was Blue! I was surprised about that! He was naked. I could see his upper body well, and his feet. I can still see his, it's face. The face of a man, which was oriental. He had a wave in the front of his hair. Now I am still talking about a so called spirit body here. Once again, I was not afraid, I was so tired of this crap, I was pissed. He could see I could see him. I think he was surprised. I will never forget that experience. I was so mad, the first thing I thought was he was gonna hold me down. Hell no! I turned toward him, with out even thinking, and put my human face right in his face. And I know I was making an ugly face! But, you know, I must have passed out or something. Because the next thing I knew it was the next day. But, I put my life on this, that this is the truth, and this really happened. I believe God let me, after all of these years, see what was doing this to me. Praise God! And you know, this does not happen to me anymore.

Thank god I'm not the only one! I've tried searching an searching for insights on this matter! Wish I wouldve found this earlier! those events happened to me when I was 11 yrs old, they progressed till I was 21yrs old. First one's I was getting was a black mist holding me down,an the evil laughter but as I got older they progressively got worse.they started showing themselves an throwing me around like a rag doll! I would have huge bruises of hand Marks on my wrists, ankles, throat, arms, etc.these things were so grutesque I cannot even start to explain! It was like clockwork. Then I got so fed up with fighting for my life, not to mention sleepless nights of being afraid. I finally started forcing to be brave.the night it stopped wasn't like any other, or any others I have read. I kept hearing whispers throughout the night tellin me at 3 o'clock he's coming, as if warning me. I couldn't sleep an kept whatchin the clock. Mind you, I kept my hall light on an my door open. An at 3:00am I sat up an saw a figure of a man in my doorway, all black couldnt see a face. I said to him,"what do you want?"(Kind of angrily) "They told me you were coming" he dissapeared into smoke an those "demons" have never come back. (Knock on wood) I don't know who that man was an still don't know why he came, all I know is that their gone! (Thank you whispers) ;)

I've had this terrifying demonic experience as well. I did some research and found out it's a worldwide paranormal phenomenon known as "old hag's syndrome" a.k.a. sleep paralysis that has been documented as far back as ancient times. It is unnerving. If it continues and gets worse I suggest seeking help from a Dr. for a sleep aid of some sort to prevent it from happening. :nodding:

Held down, but not the killing part. Fight back with your mind power! Concentrate on forcing it off you and be stronger than it is. This does work, but you must concentrate really hard.

Am I the only one who has experianced this only twice, quite close to each other and hasn't had it happen since? There were no voices, only a loud wind noise and I hadn't fallen asleep yet, Wide awake... It seems that everyone elses were re-occuring and happen all the time. I am starting to think it was some sort of paranormal activity and I know it wasnt sleep paralisis. I guess I am lucky that it only happened twice, but it seems that it is a different situation then everyone else. I am very glad it doesnt happen again, but I honestly think it was something to do with where I was. also, I couldnt even move an arm, never mind sit up and move around, TOTALLY frozen and couldnt speak one word while I was trying to scream, sure you can explain being held down with paralisis. but what about not being able to talk or scream, that is something totally different. anyone else have the same experiance with not being able to MOVE or SPEAK/YELL because I think this is something completly different.

I can definately relate to the 'demon' or spirit holding you down! this has happened to me about four (4) times now, and the first time was the worst!

I 'woke' up to the scariest feeling in the world, it felt like my body had been paralyzed- i couldnt speak, hardlly breath and something felt really heavy around my chest area (like something was sitting on me). it then started rising my chest up? thats how it felt.. My eyes started rolling back into my head and i couldnt say anything or move! it felt like something was trying to get into my body.. trying to possess me! i tried screaming and nothing would come out..!!! my body was fully paralyzed and i couldnt move.. i started thinking of god and i became fully concious.. i thought i was dreaming so I went back to sleep.. and woke up to find this happening again! i told it to f' off and saying the lords name and it went... i didn't sleep the next few nights as i have never experienced anything like i did that night. i cried and cried!

about two weeks later mum called me over to the tv and said watch this.. i started watching a documentary on people who experience this all the time.. and they called the spirit an 'entity' and explained it as best as i could!!... i have never met anyone that has had this happen to them. i would never wish anyone to experience this. I have seen ghosts before, and had some pretty freaky things happen to me.. but never anything like this! The room where i first experienced this no one sleeps in anymore.. this was my old bedroom.

It has happened to me 3 times since.. but nothing as worse as the first time. I think i have a sense about me though - i get a different feeling in my head now when something is around me. i only experience this feeling when i feel a spirit is around. does anyone have this happen to them?

I've had this happen twice. Once was after I had gone through a spiritual exercise of cleansing, but obviously can happen at other times also. This particular time, I was asleep and it had to be around 2 or 3 AM. I was kind of half-awake, and felt paralyzed, but could 'see' this ball of white/blue/transparent light. Even though you would think the colors might represent purity and goodness, I was terrified of it and felt like it was something meant to oppress me again. Next thing I know, I see a needle coming from the center of it, aimed straight at my forehead between my eyes. I couldn't speak, couldn't move. Finally I just breathed and said the name Jesus. That same instant I was able to literally jump off of the couch I was sleeping on, and nearly screamed, but caught myself before waking anyone else. After that, I just spent some time in prayer before falling back asleep (at about 6 AM :( )It IS scary, but you have (can) have power over it.

Another time, a similar event happened, but I knew the oppressor was a human or human-influenced spirit. As it was a familiar person, someone using gris gris, and trying to force me to be with him in any way he could. Therefore the best he could do was to influence me through my dreams first. You still have your God-given authority over your dreamlife as in your waking life.

I've had the same thing happen to me, but it only has happened when I'm home alone. And also it was like I was half asleep, half awake..and we have fake trees in the room, and it was like a wind was in the room moving the trees really hard. A few months later I watched paranormal activity and the same thing happened to their fake trees when they weren't home. I don't know if that means anything?

Here are my two cents: :2cents:

I am sure that the dream study people are correct about the dream paralysis. I am also sure of the presence of demons in this world. I have seen them while I am awake. But they are intelligent beings and want to get to everyone. They understand the human sleep process and use it to their advantage. They can communicate better with us while we are asleep. But listen to Lucidly Purple and the others who say to stand up to them and do not fear them.

Their goal is to destroy God's plan for us to live in peace with each other. They want us to live in fear.

I like the wiggle your toes idea. Try it. But I know what definitely works. PRAY. The prayer that always works for me is: Holy Father bind the evil spirits and cast them out, I ask in the name of Jesus, Amen. You don't have to be Christian to say it. Jesus loves all of us.

Some demons are geographically located like that apartment, although that could possibly be a ghost. A pretty intelligent ghost, if so.

All demons can do is make us hear and see things. They cannot control us. They try to convince us to do bad things. Do not let them. They get their power from us. Make them powerless. God is within us.

GREATER IS HE THAT IS IN YOU THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD........

It is a part of the normal process of falling asleep. The are yoga practices (not hatha yoga) that take advantage of this. One can learn how to take advantage of this to induce Lucid Dreaming. The problem is different people process different things in different ways according to socio-economic and cultural .

Example of socio-economic and cultural processing: "I am also sure of the presence of demons in this world. I have seen them while I am awake. But they are intelligent beings and want to get to everyone. They understand the human sleep process and use it to their advantage. They can communicate better with us while we are asleep. But listen to Lucidly Purple and the others who say to stand up to them and do not fear them."

The ultimate thing to remember is that you cannot change external realities, just your reaction to them. This is true equally for the wakeful state and the dream state. If you look at some part of your dreams as bad, then you will have bad experiences.

I noticed, since a young age, that I would go to sleep and become paralyzed. I have never feared this, but always looked on it as part of the going to sleep process. I look forward to it especially on any sleepless nights, because that means that i am finally falling asleep.

The paralysis starts at the extremities and the envelopes the whole body. It is during this process that I have noticed that one loss of external hearing. I remember starting to wake up, when I was a kid , at first I can't move anything, and then during this process I can't hear anything, but then all of a sudden my hearing comes back on. I know this happens because I have always left things running: radio, stereo, music, or some other back ground music. I've noticed this happens going into sleep and coming out of sleep. I don't notice it as much now that I am older, and then only rarely. It is the things other than this process I notice.

Now, this is where it gets interesting. I have noticed also during this stage that I sometimes here voices, but it is not any external voice that you hear with your ears, instead it is like a external voice (ie: not your own) only inside your head.

Sometimes you can tell the distance (far or near) and directionality. Most of the time it is just a single voice ( The voice is always indistinct and so impossible to discern the identity.) saying my name.

I have also had the sensation of someone sitting down beside me (between wake and dream) and then putting their hand on my knee, as if to comfort me. This happened at a solitary time in my life when I was engaged in a specific occult Tantric practice involving heavy imagery and various spiritual entites. I woke up directly afterward, in my empty apartment. I didn't suck, because I knew what I was doing was working and that I wasn't alone even if it seemed that way physically.

I have also seen faeries or elves during a lucid state, they involved specific parts of the room I was sleeping in. One faerie was on top of a closet shelf, the shelf was about 5ft off the ground and built into the door-less closet. Another time involved a whole procession of faeries less than a half an inch tall, the marched into a small door in the baseboard on the wall under my bed. the door had a light
coming from it. I moved my bed in the morning to take a closer look at the baseboard where the faerie door might be. I did discover a small half a knot in the baseboard in the shape of an arch that was right along the floor, and about in the middle of where my bed was.

I also do see dead relatives, and friends. Most of the time I look at it less as that I miss them or have some unresolved conflict, and instead view it as they have come to visit, check up on me and say hello. I never had this really when I was younger, but know that I am older it happens more frequently.

mycyclonic jerks: I tend to get them when I am drifting off to sleep. I knew a girl who would get them during certain stages of sex. The reason I bring this up is I have a older view (pre-modern times) of it's a result of spirit or faerie intervention.

The following is from: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/myoclonus/detail_myoclonus.htm

"Other familiar examples of myoclonus are the jerks or "sleep starts" that some people experience while drifting off to sleep. These simple forms of myoclonus occur in normal, healthy persons and cause no difficulties. When more widespread, myoclonus may involve persistent, shock-like contractions in a group of muscles. In some cases, myoclonus begins in one region of the body and spreads to muscles in other areas. More severe cases of myoclonus can distort movement and severely limit a person's ability to eat, talk, or walk. These types of myoclonus may indicate an underlying disorder in the brain or nerves."

Is separate from mind's fabrications

Hello all,
I have some more experiences that I have had that I would like to share with you all. Back in 1992,when most of the experiences I was having were at a peak, (happening alot). I had this one occurrance happen in the middle of the night, as well. It was not so much the holding you down feeling, but, I was sleeping on my side and I felt something pierce the middle of my back. Like it was trying really hard to enter into the middle of my back. It made my whole body shake. I did not wake up, it was very strange, I am a very strong minded person. I fought this really hard. it never got in. It finally stopped. But, it is strange how we react to things that are, scary, tramatizing... I honestly think the house we lived in at that time was haunted.

One other thing I need to say... ever since I started writing on this site, I had a dream the other night that I was in a dark room. There was a door. At the top of the door there was a glass window, and I could tell it was also dark on the other side of the door. I saw a phone and picked it up. I was trying to dial and couldn't, and stopped because I heard something... a man's voice, either a latin or spanish or something said my name twice, in a whisper, slowly, then said the word "moro" and then my name again.... and I woke up.. it was 3 AM.

The Bottom Line

Postby operatormike on Tue Jan 26, 2010 12:32 pm

A tip of the hat to OLK, great insight!

We can summarize all of this in F. D. Roosevelt's words,

"There is nothing to fear, but fear itself."

We should not fear the natural human process of falling asleep. :dreams: This includes sleep paralysis and mycyclonic jerks. Also, we should not fear demons, whether real or imagined. Imagined ones are not to be feared for obvious reasons. :alien: Real ones because they truly cannot harm us. God will protect us. :halo:

Peace to all of you!

Hi girlwolf..
Do you know what does the word 'moro' means?
(I don't know. That's why i asked.)

Do you recognise the voice?
Haunted house could clearly be the perfect explanation of why did you experience that feeling.

Hey Cravell and Girl Wolf,

I looked up moro and spanish-english dictionary.com It has a few related meanings. It can mean a person of Moorish decent (a Moor). It can mean a sexist male. ( Maybe that's a trait of Moors?) They have a saying "no hay moros en la costa (figurative) -> the coast is clear " Relating back to when Moors were the enemy expected to show up on the coast..

Does this help?

Like it was trying really hard to enter into the middle of my back. ... I honestly think the house we lived in at that time was haunted.

Did any other strange occurrences happen to you in this house? It definitely sounds like a haunting to me.

Was that the only time it happened? If it was the only time it happened, the just keep in mind that not all of those that have gone beyond sorrow(dead people) are necessarily here to harm or scare the shit out of you. The afterlife is full of a wide variety of people from the saints to the sociopaths. It is my understanding and experience that most people die and don't realize they are dead.

If it was just that one time, I would say that someone from the other side is trying to get your attention real bad. If it happened more than once I would be concerned.

Do you still live there? If you do still live there that would explain the voice.
If you don't still live there, then just remember that like attracts like. Your mental state and thoughts determine what sorts of spirits you attract. If you are pissed off, angry, and violent, then that is what you attract. If you happen to be thinking a lot about Greece or ancient Polynesian customs, then you will attract that sort of help. I do stress that sort of help, because the world we do not see is more than willing to help no matter what spectrum of the human experience you partake.

girlwolf wrote:I heard something... a man's voice, either a latin or spanish or something said my name twice, in a whisper, slowly, then said the word "moro" and then my name again.... and I woke up.. it was 3 AM.

One last thought. That voice was in your dream. It is a whole different story when you hear them when you are awake. I am not talking about mental instability, but the occasional ghost. It definitely, freaked me out the first time it happened. Believe it or not it actually took a night's sleep to regain my composure that first time.

I would like to also expand on something I wrote earlier.
O.L.Kapardin wrote:mycyclonic jerks: The reason I bring this up is I have a older view (pre-modern times) of it's a result of spirit or faerie intervention.

I know that mycyclonic jerks are not really spirit or faerie intervention, but it is more of a romanticized view. I also don't pick or eat any wild berries or fruit after Halloween, because that is supposed to be left for the faeries. It is very unlucky to pick it. (Another romanticized notion)
