Bad Dreams

Postby Mistysong » Mon Sep 18, 2017 7:25 pm

Normally when I go to sleep at night I can never remember my dreams when I wake up. Nightmares are the only dreams I ever remember having. Lately I've been having nightmares where I see someone being stabbed to death and I can't do a thing about it. Is there a way to get rid of these nightmares? I honestly don't want to remember them.

Dear Misty,

If you think about yourself as the stabber and the person being stabbed, there is a part of yourself that wants to be rid of who you are. The next step is to become a new person. Somewhere inside you must feel that you need to be reborn or reinvented.

The way to get rid of recurrent dreams is to become aware of the issue that they are pointing out. Once you are aware, you may begin to work on solving the issue. Then the dreams will go away.

I think that there are no "bad dreams"... Because even dreams that cause you concern, worry, fear, anxiety...are all extremely purposeful. Figure out the purpose, and you could grow into a better you.

Peace,

You're welcome. Did it help? Does any of it make more sense now?

Sometimes figuring out if there is a meaning to them helps get rid of them. With dreams often being a reflection of what is going on in our subconscious, dealing with a nightmare's meaning can help to settle your subconscious. Details are important. Do you know either of the people? What is the situation leading up to that? What are details that stood out to you? These are questions I usually ask myself to try to figure out if there is a potential reason for the dream. And sometimes there isn't. Just a random nightmare.

Hopefully you find a resolve to this dream if you haven't already!

Dear RS,

Thanks for the additional input. I believe most of what you said to be spot on. However, in my experience there are no random dreams. Only dreams with meanings that are beyond our waking awareness.

Peace,

Mike,
Fair enough. I still think some dreams don’t have strong enough meanings to really reflect a message other than maybe a random nightmare just means you are stressed, or a good dream means you feel like life is good. I definitely agree that dreams are a look at what is going on subconsciously in your mind, but that’s also why I say most dreams have meaning. Some dreams just kinda seem like a daydream where the mind just wandered where the most current thought took it.
But that’s what makes this website awesome! The differences in opinion.

Agreed.

Wonder if Misty Song has figured out this dream enough to stop it from recurring? Misty?

This is a vague and general description.
If your focus is on the stabbing, the issue is being penetrated. It is coercive and alien. Perhaps thoughts and beliefs which tell you not to be who you are. That would be family injunctions.
If your focus is on dying or being dead or killed, then the matter regards change. We end one thing to begin another.

Sheena,

Would you look at a dream called Demonic Woman? I am thinking that you could see aspects of this dream that I am missing.
