Killer Squirrel

I almost feel ridiculous sharing this publicly, but unlike other dreams I've had, it seems that I always remember my nightmares so I guess I feel they're important. Anyways I will get to the point.

I had this dream about a week ago, that I was in my bed just as if it was real life, I was in the same position I fell asleep in, with my back to the wall. I opened my eyes to find this cute little squirrel watching me. At first I freak out a little "what the fuck is this squirrel doing in my house," but then again who wouldn't wonder that. I notice that it's eating an acorn, but for some reason it sniffs the air and drops it, as if a much more delicious delicacy could be sitting around in my room. Long story short it leaps onto me and starts gnawing into my chest. I don't know what it wants, but everytime I pry it from my chest it comes back, until I realize that it's not my flesh the squirrel wants. It's my heart :heartpump: . Before it leaps again a final time and I wake up, I can see a clear opening in my chest revealing my still pumping heart. What does this mean, my life will be complete if you tell me!

Hi,
First of all, we all remember nightmares more because a nightmare is created to wake the sleeper, so most of a nightmare happens when we're near waking.
Regarding your squirrel dream; the subconscious uses surprise elements to get the brain into gear! :) In this sleep you probably had a bad dose of indigestion, caused by some hot fatty food. It is also probable that you actually was sleeping on your back with your hands on your chest or belly. Your subconscious was trying to move your hands off your chest:
" Long story short it leaps onto me and starts gnawing into my chest. I don't know what it wants, but everytime I pry it from my chest it comes back"

In sleep we simulate or actually make the movements the dream suggests! however if the subconscious does not succeed in making us comfortable it wakes us; sometimes with a frightening dream scenario: "I can see a clear opening in my chest revealing my still pumping heart"

That actually makes a lot of sense! Thanks, I'll keep that in mind the next time I wake up from another terror. You're awesome. :)

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
Don't take your dreams too seriously. Even the very bad ones are dreamt to help you in some way.
