Running, begging and guns

I had a dream that me and a friend were staying in a hotel in Spain or Italy. I don't know the friend in real life, but in the dream it seems we were close. I can't remember what happened next but we were suddenly running from a man trying to kill my friend. In the hotel we were staying in people kept dying mysteriously all the time so detectives were there. At one bit we enter a room where the detectives were and I begged for them to protect us as someone is trying to kill us. They laughed and sent us away.

Then he finally caught us and made us sit on swings in a park. He talked about things and then said he was going to kill us so we wouldn't have to run any more. He said he was going to start with me and pointed at machine gun at my chest. I agreed previously to let him end our suffering but then as he was about to shoot I broke down crying saying I didn't want to feel the pain of dying. He scoffed and threw a pistol at me saying that if I didn't trust him to do it right, then I should do it myself. I picked the pistol up and aimed it at my temples, ready to shoot. Then I dropped it, crying about how I was scared of doing it wrong.

then me and my friend managed to escape into the streets.

Maybe your subconscious is trying to tell you how much you really appreciate your life and current friends and how much you really fear death, even though as humans we tend to take so much for granted, like life, for instance. I hope this helps.
