Nightmares almost every night!

Postby Kissie on Wed Jul 04, 2012 1:07 pm

So, for actually quite a long time, I've been having nightmares every night. And it's almost always about the same thing, just a different scenario. It's always about me getting killed, tortured or haunted by someone, who I just heard about doing the same to somebody else. Like, in the dream. For example, last night I dreamt that a young girl had been tortured in the worst ways and then killed, and then it happened to me. But the girl was still alive, and I talked to her at some point. Weird, considering she had been murdered.
I then woke up, and fell asleep again, having another bad dream. This one was about a girl, almost identical to the girl from The Grudge, just haunting me around outside my house.
Actually, these kind of dreams happens so often, that I kind of give up in my dream. I don't even bother trying to run away or hide, because I know they'll find me. I just go with it, even though these dreams scare the living hell out of me.
I really hate going to sleep now, and I always end up being up way too late. It ruins my sleep schedule, and I don't know what to do.

Any help will do, I'm quite desperate. So please!

Love

Maybe, while you are in the dreams, you could try willing them to change into something good. I just realized that I've had nightmares for the past two nights in a row, and I can honestly say that I don't know what is causing them, but I hope they get better. Yours too. :) Best of luck.
I believe that whatever doesn't kill you simply makes you... stranger.

Hi,
I always end up being up way too late.

If you go to bed late, you're still tired when you have to get up, therefore you need a more violent dream to wake you up. It is even worse if you take any medicines or sleep aids.
Try to get back to regular bedtimes and disregard your dreams. They should be forgotten after waking.

This is definitely a very terrible dream, and even worse if you see it every night or so. Maybe you should see a professional psychologist. You don't want nightmares to ruin your precious sleep every night.

This is a scary dream and it certainly sounds like you are sensitive person, reliving what other have experienced in dreams.

I can't relate to the very scariness of your dreams but I do often have reoccurring nightmares, even after I thought I have figured them out.

For myself, through this site, I found this: ( paraphrased, if you look around you can find it here)

To understand occurring nightmares:
1. be able to accept change in your life.
2. Confront what you find
3. Get passed the emotions in the dreams, they can be a mask preventing you from delving deeper.
4. Write down your dream every time...pay attention to what changes
5. Pay attention to what is happening in your wake life..there will be a correlation between the two, find out what it is.
6. Don't give up, don't get discouraged. I understand feeling hopeless because dreams are making you crazy. The repeat because they are an important message, so re-frame into "an email from your psyche"

I wish you peaceful dreams,
truly truly.
