Disturbing Dream

Postby Plexi on Tue Jun 12, 2012 12:11 pm

I have been having this recurring dream/nightmare that leaves me feeling very emotional when i wake up.

A little background on me: I'm 5 & 1/2 months pregnant, & in a very up and down relationship with a man i love dearly.

Ok so heres my dream. I will be sleeping..sometimes by myself, other times with my s/o. I will be laying on my left side with my right arm dangling off the side of the bed. I wake up because i feel something or someone playing with my hand/fingers. I wake up and its a scarey looking child..he looks of indian descent, very dark scarey black eyes (similar to the child in the movie Grudge), hes very thin, almost malnutritioned looking. And i am terrified of him. He wants something..i'm not quite sure what it is, but i feel like he wants me to be his mother. Like he wants to possess my baby that im pregnant with.

I know the creepy childs name. Its Sando. I dont know how i even know that.

I freak out, i wake up my s/o and we try and corner this "child" to see what or who he is and what he wants. But he always gets away. This dream scares the crap out of me & i keep having it!

Any ideas?

Sidenote:
We decided to NOT find out the sex of our child during our last ultrasound. We are hoping very much for a girl, as we already have an 8 yr old son..but my s/o believes its a boy from watching the ultrasound..i don't know if that has any significance. *shrug*

Hi,
The "up and down" Relationship does not help when you're pregnant, especially if it is a bit one sided. Pregnancy brings with it hormone changes, discomforts and worries about the baby. The subconscious tries to resolve the problems that crop up during sleep to give you a as much rest as possible.
I will be laying on my left side with my right arm dangling off the side of the bed. I wake up because i feel something or someone playing with my hand/fingers.

A certain sleeping position causes you discomfort. The dream is trying to make you move your hand; it may be dangling or more likely trapped under your body. You may also feel the babies movement inside. However the worst sleeping position is when you sleep on your back with your hands on your stomach. In this position breathing is restricted by the weight of your hands and you may also feel the babies movements through your hands. The other psychological parts of the dream are waking element.
You should regard your dreams as your helpers and if they wake you, get comfortable and go back to sleep! Should not look for any meanings; dreams are dreamt to respond to problems during sleep.

I am reminded of the tale of Bridey Murphy. People believe that was a fraud, but I've seen so many instances of past lives in my own life that I'm a believer (and I'm definitely in the minority). The reincarnation beliefs within Indians may be upsetting to you, but you know I believe in past lives and future loves, that we go to some Heavenly waystation when we die and God puts us in the body of a newborn and we live again. There are so many instances in nature of death and rebirth, like a sapling growing where an old tree died. The seasons pass and there is no end, but forever and infinity.
This baby "Sando" will not possess the child, but I understand he sees you as a maternal influence and a motherly type. I think if you're kind to Sando and encourage him to go to Heaven or have a psychic help him cross over you'll be happier.
Another aspect of the dream that concerns me is malnutrition. We are so very fortunate in the US (at least some of us are) to have enough food to feed our babies. I think you could drop off some food at the Second Harvest Food Bank, or volunteer to help the less fortunate. I think the key here is you're upset about the poverty around the world, especially in India, at it's coming out in your nightmares.
The best thing to do is engage in social justice and try to right the wrongs and help the needy. You could volunteer at a soup kitchen or befriend a poor mother and help her get welfare for her children. Apathy serves to hurt so many, particularly those in need.
Hey, good luck and well wishes and have a happy childbirth...for sure, your child will grow to be a lovely, loving kid, despite the gender of the babe. Does it really matter what sex a kid is...all babies (male and female) are a blessing from God! :P
