This is more weird/unsettling than funny, but I didn't think it deserved a new thread.

I dreamed last night that Obama was assassinated and it was really, really realistic and graphic. I think this might be a result of all the dead Gadhafi pictures/video I've been seeing.

@DeepSleeper44 - That's most definitely the case, I'd say.

And last night I finally had a dream I can remember (a little)!

I was running up a road with multiple lanes, but no matter in which lane I ran, there was always a car heading towards me, forcing me to continuously change lanes. Finally my frustration made me become lucid and I turned around and created a transparent wall in between me and the oncoming car. I wasn't really sure if the wall was there since it was, well, transparent. I counted every anticipating second as the car came closer and closer, wondering if the wall was really there, until it crashed into it, its hood crushed like a soda can.

I'm so happy, because now I'm able to lucid dream more often without using any tricks!

Oh man I HATE it when that happens! It's as though your dreams are trolling you, which is what mine are doing to me too, but differently

Like two nights ago, I had a dream with one of my favorite characters; Wheatley from the game Portal 2. But throughout the entire dream he liked my sister better then me, and I even felt like he thought I was just annoying to him.

And last night I dreamed I was standing in front of a table where a group of guys my age where smack-talking me and saying things that really pissed me off, this one guy in particular, and I swear I was on the verge of exploding. When he told me I should apologize to him, I decided that even though it was him who should be apologizing, the fight would end quicker if I did it, so I took a deep breath and apologized. One of the dudes said : "What?" and I repeated my apology again, but then he said that the main guy left the table. I just dropped to my knees and screamed my head off, yelling the most foul words I know!

Even though that last dream was really frustrating, it felt great to be able to let all of it out. I would highly suggest screaming at the top of your lungs in dreams

the last time i screamed in a dream was when i had my spider night terror. might not be good for me to scream in my dreams. and i did remember two of them but they were premonitions and not something entertaining.

Aha ha! Obsessed with Portal? XD lol, I love that game too. I just finished it and I played it over again. But i had to get a new hard drive and wipe out my stuff. And because of that I can't play Portal 2 anymore :cry:

i just remembered an odd yet wickedly awesome dream i had a few years back. i was at bush gardens or somewhere similar with my sister and some other people. all of a sudden, it was just me standing at the entrance of the park and everyone running in all different directions. i look around and see this monster terrorizing the park. i knew what i had to do. i had to fight and defeat this monster. only problem, i don't remember whether i won the fight or not. i'm sure i did but that's a blank.

i had a weird dream last night that i was running trying to get away from someone ind i was at my aunt's old house. i was running through the back yard and i tripped and fell. i kept trying to get up but couldn't. turned out the person i was running from wasn't trying to kill me or anything. i kept trying to get up but my back just hurt so bad and wouldn't let me get up. the person i was running from (who ended up being good) was trying to help me get up but even they weren't able too. my back just wouldn't let me get up. that was both frustrating and scary.

i was at my freinds house ad i realused i had pooed my self and i saw sone on the carpet so i left quickly and then realised i was wearing a white tshirt and just knickers and id done it again only this time it was all over me i ran down theroad and it is where i live and was running towards shops but luckily there was a brand new built toilet suddenly on the grass where i could wash myself and my tshirt

Guys I totally forgot to mention this a while ago.....

I could never really do such a thing in my dreams because I keep believing I will hurt myself if I dare run straight at a solid wall XD. But I learned the little secret! I figured I have to stay neutral by controlling my emotions and I have a bit of faith in believing that I can do it. And yup, it works alright for me.

When I tried walking through a wall, I stuck my head through it first then the rest of my body slowly. As I was penetrating through the wall, it felt....weird. Its difficult to explain...... it felt as if I was going through a wall of water, I can feel a sort of wetness as I pass through but I stay dry. Something like that. Its a strange feeling, but it was very interesting. I remember last week I had a dream that I was messing with some random guy with my new ability

He actually thought he was being haunted by a ghost XD

i have been having tons of dreams every night this week. all of them have been very weird and only remembered two of them. one of the i will mention. it was like the movie mist except not a horror story. my grandparents and i were up in the mountains and my grand mother was looking out the door and says she thinks she sees snow. i go to the door and look and don't see anything. i decided to step outside to get a better look. then i see fog start to move in from over the mountains. it doesn't seem like much at first but then it gets thicker and thicker. it got so thick you can't even see your hand in front of your face. i didn't dare move to go back inside for fear i might get lost trying to find my way back in. i never could tell if it was snowing or not though.

Oh geez I am never eating chocolate before bed again.

Two nights ago I ate some chocolate before going to sleep, and that night I couldn't remember my dream, but I knew I had gotten a nightmare and I woke up very early in the morning sweating like a pig (and it wasn't even hot in my room). Then yesterday I couldn't remember if it was the chocolate that had caused such a weird night, so I tried eating chocolate before bed last night. I remember a short part of my dream, and it was not pleasant one bit; I dreamed I was out at sea. We were in the center of a raging storm and a giant killer whale (I'm not sure if it was my dream guide Moka) was attacking our ship with the intention of eating everyone on board. In the end, we had no choice but to kill it (I was completely against the idea if ever it was Moka). I can't remember if we did end up killing it or not, though. And in the morning I kept waking up and going back to sleep, but I wasn't able to really "sleep" properly; I was more half asleep, half awake the entire time, and it sucked because I feel like I haven't slept well at all.

OK, i'm a newbie to this posting stuff but i need some answers. I was in this old decrepit house, by myself at first. I was looking to remodel it. There were spiders everywhere, some black, some brown, then there were some that were black with red diamonds on their backs. So i'm walking thru this old empty house looking for ideas, when one of the red diamond spiders jumps onto my index fingers, wraps all it's legs around my finger, and sinks it's teeth in. The weird thing is, i can really feel it, in real life!! I tried to pick it off, flick it off, with all attempts failing. It was stuck there and i could feel it's grasp! Finally after what seemed like forever, it just fell off. I tried to stomp it, but it was too fast and shifty. All of a sudden, there were other people there, but i don't recognize them. Now they are going thru the house with me and my 1yo son is there. A big spider comes up and grabs him and does to his whole body what it had done to my finger. I woke up at that point. None of us were able to kill any of them, but only the the ones with red diamonds were the dangerous ones. Any offers of interpretations on this one? I am desperate!

chibi, i have no idea when or even if my dreams will return to normal. i don't remember having any last night or the night before but i'm sure i did. and i doubt that whale in your dream was your dream guide moka. i don't think a dream guide would ever have the intentions of hurting/eating their dreamer.

Why just the ones with the red diamonds? There were thousands of spiders in that house. I just read about lucid dreaming yesterday and was very intrigued as right now i am looking for answers in my dreams. Not sure if lucid dreaming is the way to go or not, but sounds like fun anyway. I tried last night, repeating in my head what i wanted to dream about. Didn't work out that way. I dreamt i was at a funeral, i believe it was to be my uncle, but i didn't recognize anyone there. I turned and one of the funeral programs had caught on fire, so i threw holy water on it to put it out. Then i woke up. Uuuuhhh yeah.......

Hmmm... Did you find the spiders with the red diamonds to be somewhat pretty? Maybe they represented the danger that you feel is after your son. So it's possible that you feel as though those who you deem to stand out from the rest regarding beauty in your waking life have little power over you (spider on your finger), but that your son is at risk.

I have no idea if this information is remotely accurate, but I do hope it helped you in some way

They looked the same as the other black ones, just the red diamond. My son is healthy and happy, no fear there. The bad thing, the part that sticks out the most wasn't even my son getting swarmed by a spider. I still remember the feeling of the spider on my finger and this was a few days ago. Like someone grabs the end of your index finger and squeezes. It was sucking on me like a vampire. I even checked my finger when i woke up to see if a bug really bit me.

@lostinit: Here I am, upon request. I generally avoid interpreting lucid dreams since they dissolve the most intricate aspects of the dreamworld. But I'll give this a try since the core of the dream scenario appears to be nonlucid, that is, solely caused by unconscious processes.

The spiders, while being displacements of the actual and hidden fear, simultaneously conceal what they represent. This is also the case with the red diamond.

If we assume that the old decrepit house is a self-reflection of decline and illness, then the spiders take form as agents of this infection. Your index finger, your sense of direction in life, appears to be the target of this disease. And, in the end, a greater fear is realized as you see your son assaulted in the same way and by the same parasites (blood-sucking vampiric spiders). As such, the dream scenario portrays a repressed revelation: whatever ails you, physically or psychologically, will also ail your son.

Now, let's go back to the dream's most veiled feature, the red diamond. Taking a look at your previous dream, it appears to be a metonymic for the fire by the funeral site. None that i can really think of besides the fact that there were other people in both dreams that i was supposed to know i guess, but i don't know recognize them from real life. I do agree with a post i seen that the "life is being sucked out of me". I am finding myself yearning for some type of adventure/excitement/mystery in life right now. I am "stuck" where i am at.

The symbolism of "being stuck" extends from the funeral site to the decrepit house to the stung index finger, it mirrors the current state of affairs. Further, I assume that the fire and the red diamond are linked to this notion of adventure/excitement/mystery.

What we face as fear in our dreams is anxiety, which highlights our inability to follow through on a choice. In your case, you are faced with two possible directions, to start a new adventure (fire, red diamond) or accept decline (decrepit house). You are urged to drastically change what is around you, but you simultaneously resist it since you worry about which effects this change will have on your son.

At that exact moment, i got a papercut, on my index finger, bad enough to put a band aid on. It feels like the spider! :whoa:

Does that mean do it, dont do it? Wow...is there a psychiatrist in the house?

I forgot to mention, it's the opposite hand, opposite side of the finger. And i'm not dreaming(pinch).

It's a slip of the hand (parapraxis), but you shouldn't read too much into it.

Moreover, make sure not to jump to any rash conclusions. Instead, take your time to think about what is at stake, and maybe call a friend or close relative.

I had a dream on Wednesday night, which I can only partially remember.
I was in a multi-story building with a group of people. I don't know if we were looking for something, or what exactly we were doing, but we would go through an entire floor, and once it had been thoroughly explored, we walked up a flight of stairs to the next. As I got higher up, what I found became increasingly disturbing and bizarre. People began to get lost in rooms that held nothing but darkness, doors would open up to completely different realms and the layout of the hallway I was in would shift if I turned my back for a minute. The staircases would go in peculiar directions or they would lead to a dead end or a completely different place. After many frustrating journeys up and down the darkly playful stairs, I reached a floor that reaked of death- before I even got to the top of the stairs, I knew something gruesome would await me. At the top was what looked to be a fragment of a largely abandoned hospital. Blood was smeared on the walls and the air was heavy with a sense of dread. Fearing for my life, I turned to go back down the steps, warning my group of the dangers ahead, but unable to articulate the deatils. :worry:

The more you elevate yourself (ascending the stairs), the more "disturbing" the milieu. But the only way in which the disturbances manifest is through absence (dark rooms, disappearances, doors opening and closing, the decor changing, etc.).

As the events themselves are repressed, you are left with remembering the effect (blood smeared on walls) but not the act itself. This is also mirrored by your inability to detail what you have seen to the (conscientious) others--that is, for yourself.

You have "seen something"--reached an uncanny insight--which remains as inexplicable as it is irresistible; cf. the protagonist's fixation in Lynch's Lost Highway.

Man, I had a pretty weird dream last night :/

In the first part, my grandfather was mad at me because I wasn't paying attention to some type of family meeting we were having (we never do family meetings IRL).

In the second part, I found myself tied from head to toe to an enormous torture contraption of some sorts: it resembled the shape of a Guillotine (http://digitalph33r.wikia.com/wiki/Guillotine_(Execution)) but with a roller under my feet. My grandfather and what I presume were other family witnesses were standing below, watching me. He had a remote control in his hands, and as if to confirm my suspicions, he explained to me how he was going to start moving the roller with the remote and that I had to try to keep up with it, because if I veered too much then the ropes tied all around me would electrocute me. Throughout the entire process I couldn't stop myself from crying as I was constantly electrocuted. Weird thing is that I could actually feel the electricity, but only faintly. I remember falling off the roller and hanging in the air (with only a long black swing to support me as I descended to it slowly). I'm not sure if it was him or not, but I do remember that someone came to my side to try and help me, and although I didn't see him, I feel like it was my dad who had had enough.

I have no idea about the first part, but I do know that the part when my dad came to help me probably reflected what happened just a couple of days ago; I heard my parents fighting and my dad found me crying, right before we went out to eat for my sister's 19th birthday too

This leaves a lot of questions. Firstly, what do you mean by "family meeting"? Is it a holiday dinner, indoor party, outdoor celebration, picnic, or a camping trip? Secondly, is the man in question your mom's or your dad's dad? Thirdly, in what way did he express his anger? Was he grunting, yelling, or waving his fists? Fourthly, what distracted you?

The reason I ask is because the info would clarify the second part. You see, being tied to the contraption (electrocuting guillotine) is a condensation (compound metaphor) reflecting your social environs, "walking a tightrope." You are forced to act in certain ways--but there is no reward for your efforts, only various degrees of punishment (electric shocks). Considering this situation, it is no small wonder that you are despairing (crying).

Lastly, if the one "pulling your strings" (controlling the contraption via remote) is your dad's dad, then the scenario opens up yet another dimension.

It was what I felt to be a very business type meeting, like those that very high-ranking business men would be in. The room itself was somewhat of a toscan color (brownish redish color) with a long wooden and varnished table in the middle.

The business-type meeting around a varnished wooden table and brown walls reflects an atmosphere imbued with rigid, bourgeois prestige. Your mom's dad, the highest patriarchal authority, scolds you for not matching expectations, which extends from your career pursuit in visual arts (activity) onto the social scene in which you are inscribed (location). This also amplifies the anxiety made manifest in the torture contraption in the dream's second part, and how your mom--your granddad by metonymy--socially outranks your dad.
