Lucid Abilities, what are yours?

Well i cant say i got super powers for the most part i have never flown or shot fire from my hands but I have notesed that i am in better controle of myself and can munipulat things to my will not thing like spoons rocks or objects but i can controle what a reaction is from another person in my dreams,even the weather i controle if i need to most of the time i let it ride out i like werther it controles the mood of my dream

My lucid dreams are typcially about places, and occassionally about people I know. I am able to impact parts of the dream in ways that are often invisible. My impact is to actually script the story in a satisfactory way, but I don't overtly impact the dream.

For example, I was on a cruise ship in one dream with my wife and kids, but the ship was sinking. It wasn't the titanic, it was just some big cruiser. So my impact was to exert a calming effect on all the people in the dream and instead of it being a disaster, the ship became a submarine and we were all standing at the windows staring out at all the exotic fish.

My dreams are often not bad. As a matter of fact, I haven't had real nightmares for over 10 years. Back then I had lots of teeth dreams, where something alien was trying to hunt me down and kill me. (Recurring nightmare since I was a kid and saw Alien...) So now, I tend to have these dreams that are like reading the best book ever, or I am watching a movie that I can direct from a subliminal directors seat, while I actually play out the part like a live action role play. I am the hero or protagonist in the dream, and I sometimes do good, sometimes not. But I always seem to have the option to drop right into an exciting adventure.

I'm amazed at the difficulty some people seem to have in manipulating their dreams. What could be easier? It's a dream, people! Anything is possible in a dream. Why does it surprise people that you can control and manipulate things in a dream or that the dreamer can influence every aspect of it like a god? What's so shocking about that?

I mean, sure we all have our limitations from time to time, but I hear a lot of complaints from people who just seem to get stuck in their dreams more often than not. Normally, when I take control of a dream, the sky is the limit and I just have a blast. The dream becomes my slave and I am its master.

Yea I'm surprised about that too because I'm not a natural lucid dreamer but I can change things in my dream if something I don't like happens.

Sure, at some random times I become lucid and do something that I can think of, but it isn't everynight that this happens, especially these days. How can it? Easy. As soon as you become lucid, just tell yourself that anything is possible. Just tell yourself that you are a god in this dream and everything is at your command. Then just do whatever you want. You should instantly get a feeling of complete liberation and exhilaration. You have to empower yourself in the dream before you can really take full control of it. Think of it like Shazaam saying his magic word. After he does that, he gets his power. The same is true for your dreams.

Yes! I do that all the time. This ties in to what I was saying earlier about interpretting your dreams as you are dreaming them. Sometimes I also look at the symbols and tell myself that I will look it up and think about it later to discover its meaning.

It sounds like you are trying to feel "grounded," searching for stability and meaning in your life. You are searching for a foundation for your thoughts and beliefs. Your hands are what you use to relate with the world around you. Just as you try to step toward a higher understanding, you notice that you are dreaming. It's no wonder that paying attention to the hands is a very common way to induce lucidity.

The more you do it, the longer it can last though. It's just like physical exercise. You need to build up your endurance.

Your fear of lucidity can be what's preventing this ability from progressing. It's like saying that you don't like to get tired, so you avoid running. Running a little more every day can eventually lead to the endurance and strength necessary to run a marathon.

I say, go for it. As soon as you find yourself being lucid, empower yourself. You may wake up, but so what? What have you got to lose? You will sleep again and you will get another chance to try. No harm, no foul.

Power over elements is always my "power" (Earth, Air, Fire and Water!) ! In most of my dreams i don't have any "powers" which is a shame! But, when i do it power over elements! =D

I strangly enough don't find this weird i really like nightmares, probably because i find it hard to get scared! I'm constantly watching horror movies! I've not had a nightmare in aaaaaaaaaages! I think it's 'cos now i call them dreams!

I think people find it hard because i know when i dream i don't know it's a dream. It feels so real i sometimes I think when i'm awake i might actually be dreaming!

That's why in order to induce a lucid dream, you need to get into the habit of questioning whether you are awake even when you think you are awake. Dreams can sometimes feel as real as anything in the waking state. It's easy to forget that you're asleep.

I can't tell you how many times I've had false awakenings, only to find out it was all dream. It really p1ss'd me off too!

When I was younger I would dream that I could shoot lasers from my eyes and that I was a member of the Teen Titans. That later turned into a fascination with flight for i would grow wings and fly everywhere and anywhere I wanted, though in some dreams I would pout at the fact that it was raining. Now that I am older my dreams involve me being chased but I would turn around and pull a gun out of nowhere and blow their face off. Just the face, not the head.

(In fact once I dreamt my school was being attacked by this spider- like thing. I realized I was dreaming because I looked at my hands and I jumped and sliced it with a sword. Also it jumped back up and I said something and a bolt of lightning came down and zapped it. The school was dark and shit was going on.) Yes, I know, laame.

-Teleporting, once I needed a teleportnote, like a deathnote, but you write a name in and the person teleports to the place you write.

sometimes when I am in a dream, I try to do things but it doesn't work. Quite frustrating.
for example. In a dream I was doing alchemy (Fullmetal Alchemist style) on a black minivan. I was changing the shape so it had big spikes coming out of it. Then slowly I noticed how awesome this was and tried to make the other side the same but I couldn't remember how to do alchemy and kept trying and didn't know what I was doing wrong.

My powers are weird. And mean SERIOUSLY weird.
I can seem to control the flow of time and send out electromagnetic pulses at things. These pulses are blue and purple and glow with an interior light. They seem to warp the reality of things, melting, setting fire to or vaporising what they touch.

The time thing is awesome. I can go anywhere and do practically anything. I can pause, rewind, fast forward and record time. The record thing creates a kind of copy of me that can talk, walk and do everything i can do. I can have battles against myself or other things i record.

I can fly - Or at least blast upwards.

Devils Palm is my alter ego's attack if i get beaten badly i transform into him (and become very demonic looking but am only able to watch as he battles in my place) he fights without remorse and to crush my foes but im usually battling inside of him to regain control to get my body back. the devils palm is where he teleports right at people grabs there face in his palm and like a blast wave of dark energy blasts out destroying everything with in its path only done it once myself without losing control but it really drains me of energy.

My main attacks are ones made with medium length blades duel wield but holding them hilt down wards and i have very fast speed (my demon self is fast over powered and doesn't use a sword as my hands become claws and i get long hair and claws) pretty cool but weird sometimes

my lucid abilities are usually what initially signal to me that i am dreaming....so i guess my best lucid ability is to become lucid in the first place....
this almost always happens in the form of me being immersed in water and not being able to come up for air....
i have drowned in waking life, so i know how it feels to really drown, and i can instantly recognize the difference in the dream world...in my dreams i slowly take in a little water through my nose and gain confidence in the "breathability" or "thickness"of the water...then i am able to take deep breaths under water with no "thick" or "milkshake" sensation...

from that point on, it's anything goes, as i am completely lucid...although i tend to keep the superpowers to a minimum, as i prefer to just go along for the ride and try to interpret themes...it just means that i am definitely going to remember the dream when i wake....

I can control my dreams in any way, I cannot die and can change my dream at will.

Only downside I don't dream often.

Well, I'm a natural lucid dreamer, but i usually limit my interference to sarcastic comments to my subconscious. I'm always aware that i'm dreaming in my dreams, but i usually limit my interference because, unless my subconscious is being annoyingly illogical (like killing me without a good reason for it), i enjoy seeing what it will come up with. On the occasions i do influence my dreams, i usually have the ability to defeat any enemy (think awesome fighting skills), speed, agility, occasionally fire and water-bending, a 6th sense which tells me when danger is coming, the ability to teleport other people out of danger (though this usually kills me), flying, and the over-all changing of the conditions of the dream in general (i.e. giving myself a gun).

Ive only had a few dreams but in mine I can fly, run super fast without ever getting tierd and breath under water

I don't lucid dream very often and when I do I have a bit of difficulty manipulating things inside my dreams. When I do, I can usually:

-Fly (with or without wings)
-Breath underwater
-Use portals (to different worlds)
-Turn into a boy (I really have no idea about this one.)
- Shapeshift (Only into youkai though, not animals)

I'm working on being able to run in my dreams, because I can't in real life.

I am just learning to control my lucid dreaming so that I can astral project and explore other realms. I mainly do this by realizing that I'm dreaming, and then jump out of a window to trigger flight. The flight triggers my astral body to eject out of my sleeping body. I'm still learning and sometimes have trouble with this. I often get stuck under power lines and have difficulty jumping out into the higher realms.

I have seen some of the most hauntingly beautiful and life changing imagery when I have successfully projected. I have also been subject to a rather frightening lower astral entity attack. But, the aching and colorful beauty of the astral planes is counter enough for me to try to project over and over and over again, despite the power lines.
Anyone have any tips on overcoming them?

Us non-lucid dreamers have a hard time understand or even realizing that we're dreaming in the first place. I for one would like to lucid dream, but with my dreams being how they are nowadays, it's more entertaining to just let them play out by themselves.

I have the awesome ability to grow wings on a whim, though it hurts really badly. Also, I can bring weapons forth into existence. So far, I've mastered swords & other simple weaponry, but summoning a gun that operates is hard, since I don't know the inner workings of guns.

I also have the permanent location of a door between realms memorized, though getting there is sometimes a challenge, as it's in a heavily wooded area so I can only fly so far.

Alright, this might be a ridiculous question, but I feel like it needs to be asked.

In this one dream I had a couple of days ago, I'm in my high school gym sitting on the floor with all these people, and someone releases this green helium balloon. It's going up towards this fan, and they normally have these grids over them so that nothing can get to the blades or anything like that. But, I just keep on thinking that the balloon is going to go into the fan and pop, it's going to happen, any moment now-- and suddenly it does, like I thought about the event so much it actually happened.

Can dreamers have lucid abilities even though they don't realize they're lucid dreaming?
