Need Help, About DURING Lucidity

Hello all. So I have been able to achieve lucid dreams at least once every 2-3 days now. Sometimes very vivid, sometimes not. I have 2 problems I'd like to ask about, listed by level of importance:

1. While full-blown lucid dreaming, as in I know 100% I'm in a dream, the only thing I can control is my own body??

For example, about a week ago I had this one dream in which I was being chased by enemies. During this I became fully aware I was dreaming. At this point I decided, since I was dreaming, I would just fly through the door up ahead to escape these bad guys. When I got up to the door, however, it was rock-solid... or at least as solid as a normal door would be. No matter how hard I concentrated on making the door allow me to pass through, it wouldn't. I then tried to make the enemies disappear as well, to no avail - and I knew they were right on my tail. When they reached me I woke up...

These types of unfortunate things happen all the time while I'm lucid dreaming... How do I fix this? There's always something happening in my dreams that I'm powerless to control even though I'm lucid, and it ends up making me wake up eventually...

2. Sometimes when I become lucid in a dream, I can feel that the dream is beginning to fade. I start making myself spin around, which works in making my connection to the dream stronger, but at a very slow pace. So slow to the point that I get bored/unwilling to continue doing this method as it feels like I'm going to have to spin forever just to get the dream back to a level that I can go explore or what have you.

Can you kind folks please help me here? I'm still in love with lucid dreaming, but I want to be in full control!! Lol.

First of all, if you are lucid dreaming you should know that lucidity tends to wake up the dreamer, since lucidity is actually a form of consciousness. When you are supposedly lucid dreaming and you can't get what you want, then you are trying to force the process into an un-natural state of control vs just free associating or whatever it is that normally goes on in the dream process. Dreams help us to process our emotions and concerns, like fears, angers, etc. So, what in the world do you mean by "fix it?" IT seems to me that there is nothing wrong with the dream process. We are supposed to be fully asleep to gain that and when one does not sleep for extended periods, since we then don't process the daily stresses, one can literally become psychotic!! I suggest you stop trying to control the process and just go with the flow! The dream is of far greater benefit than trying to control things.

Normally, Lucid dreaming is suggested to victims of severe abuse to actually stop the dream-terrors, and adjust the reactive responses to ones that are more creatively beneficial to victims. Similar to teaching self defense. But those dreams don't last as long since waking up fully is the goal. Since you don't seem to late that you are a victim, just let the dream take you to places that your subconscious chooses to teach you what you need.

I agree with TenderLC.
A little advice from someone who has actually achieved total control within lucid dreams- it gets boring real quick. Like hacking into a video game to play God Mode. So have fun with the limitations the dream presents! It gives you a (relatively) safer environment to acknowledge problems and explore possible solutions to them.

I've got two suggestions for you:

Once you are in a LD, whether you're being chased or just driving your dream car, try spinning in place (after you safely pull over your car!). I've read from many sources that say spinning, for some reason, seems to ground one's self in an LD. Just two or three quick twirls should do the trick. Some also say to rub your hands together as if you're washing your hands, at the same time. Give that a try and see if that door doesn't open.

Second is in the case of running from someone or something. If you are truly experiencing a lucid dream then you need to realize that what is chasing you is not a threat. Face your fears! Literally. Turn around, face your pursuer and hug them. Yes, hug that monster or those bad guys. It's another mind-trick; an action that your waking mind would never do and when you do the action you should find that the outcome is vastly different than what you expect. It might just make that door disappear.
