Creepy Circus Mall

So, I am walking down a dark alley with a man. Sometimes my dad, sometimes a current boyfriend, sometimes someone I barely know or a stranger. We walk down this alley and see someone being mugged. I try to go help them but whoever I'm with pulls me back and says, "ignore them" and pushes me toward a mall. We walk in the mall and its ominous with fog and mist and tinted red lighting. Surrounding me and the man are circus like people like ring leaders, clowns with terrifying faces, men on tilts and midgets pulling on my pants legs trying to get my attention. We continue walking and the man disappears from beside me. I keep walking forward trying to find the man and the circus people are all grabbing at me trying to pull me in when I walk up to a line and stand in it next to an old woman with a twisted face. She is holding a bundle in her arms and is wearing tattered clothes and looks to me with this crooked tooth smile. Sometimes she says "hello dear" or "you're next". Someone I am not able to see from behind me pulls me back from the line and I wake up.
Please help me figure out what this means It's been reoccurring for the past year!

The man is your idea of a protector (male) but you also dont trust him to be truly compassionate. You don't trust yourself, you feel weak, and the protector keeps saving you from peril, and the circus of life in general. You want to be rescued, you don't believe you are strong enough without a protector but you don't feel you can fully depend on one either.
