I am often a boy in my lucid dreams. :I Porque?

My first legitimately lucid dream was pretty cool, the kind that I wake up later and am just like "YESS! I DID IT!" It was a heroic deed, so that's probably why. This happened like, a couple of years ago and I've been having lucid dreams on and off sense.

For some reason, I had a female friend whom had been looking for me all day. We met in the street after she informed me of this and began walking behind her house into her back yard. We talked- well, she talked for a little bit (I think about moving or something) and out of nowhere I yelled "GET DOWN" and pulled her to the ground just as a shadowy creature sailed over us, bent on attacking her. It then proceeded to growl incoherently at me after knocking me down, perhaps a warning then I woke up. The end. And the way I sensed it... it was just like BAM-! OH-TROUBLE! before I even felt the thing's presence. I'm thinking it actually had a running lunge at us and that's why it came up so quickly. Anyway. yeah. That happened and I woke up feeling rather accomplished if only because of that dream.

These sorts of dreams become really inspiring for writing and such funtastical activities.
