Lucid Abilities, what are yours?

Once I dreamth of a lady that was dying, and everyone kept telling me that she was my dad... and I asked her if she could tell me what my dream meant, she took my hand and squeezed it softly as an answer... I really think that meant "yes"....
So, you can learn how to start lucidity, it doesn't hurt you, but don't do it every single night of your life.... dreaming and letting the dream happen is also healthy.

well.... I've only done this a few times.... it was fun and I want to learn more about lucidity... I hope to see if someone can help me with that hehe
I have.....
- been able to breathe underwater (I don't think that's a big achievement)... every time I see water or a pool in my dreams, I feel like jumping in and swimming for a long time :3
- I have summoned someone... It's hard, because I don't have that much experience with that.. and I keep forcing it when I'm not supposed to..
- been able to fly.... It's still hard to keep afloat.. Once I had wings, they were black.
- this one time I was practicing my lucidity, and I started changing a friend's face... I wasn't that much into a lucid state though...

I really want to be able to do all those things that you people mention.... what I REALLY want to do is to be able to wake up my boyfriend from his dream and get him lucid so that he believes in this lucidity stuff.... he doesn't believe me when I talk about it! :dummy"

well..... I hope someone can help me with this... HELP ME FIND LUCIDITY!!!

well, first you have to remember that u ARE dreaming, and say it calmly without waking yourself up. Then understand u can do ANYTHING. ANYTHING. Say it over and over a few times. Then keep on practicing. It doesnt always work the first time. THEN abut your boyfriend. Say to him to try it himself. And if he doesnt believe it or it doesnt work, it doesnt matter. u either believe or dont. Have fun. Sweet dreams!! Hahaha :rofl:

Um I'm sixteen and I can fly have VERY good taste smell sight touch in my dreams I experience and both watch mh dreams and everything that happens I get waves of emotions come through my body and I can sometimes talk in my dreams and control them very well.

I am not good at lucid dreaming as I once was. I do remember having a dream that I was the metroyed prime(the video game character with that special suit and futuristic gun) and had that same dream twice the first dream was the original where I didn't know I was dreaming and this was before I knew the main character in metroyed was a woman. the other two dreams I summoned were the same dream as the first exept each dream was slightly different. usually when I have a lucid dream, every time I realize I am dreaming I wake up or when I try to do something in the dream I will wake up but anyways I havent had a lucid dream in along time. I've always wanted to have a sexual lucid dream but those dreams seem hard to recall at least for me and I don't have sex dreams that much, It would be nice to have more of them.

Guys you better be serious about this: Dreaming is another reality, another Plan of life. I live a second life dreaming (not awake, but dreaming). In fact there are even different plans of dreaming. However one that I am very interested in is the one were I REALLY foresee things and events. It has in fact been tested a few times, and some people just say that's coincidence. But things of this kind are no coincidences. I can't predict. but I can Involuntarily (?) foresee. 1-I Dreamed that my house had been Robed. It was that day. !0 years before it happened, I dreamed (or better 'saw' it while in deep meditation) the war in the Middle East (I recorded it at the time -I record the most important dreams- and wrote it to someone at the time, so it is not an after the fact guess) and around the "Aegian Sea" which boiled in balls of fire.Now I am scared that it would become a Third WW with nukes n all because o Syria..I have others.I love dreaming.

My ability to be lucid seems sporadic and kinda out of my control. Working on it, except that a psychologist from my work told me that since dreams are a sort of gift that we receive, it defeats the purpose of our dreams to try to control the outcome. That made sense to me, so I rarely try anymore. But, since I'm the kind of person who in real life feels that her life is somewhat haphazard, often I feel comforted by changing things around or halting events that are frightening. And lately, since studying symbolism, I am able to recognize symbols as I am dreaming and analyze them, and in the last couple of days I have been interjecting what I've read are "positive" symbols, like blanketing the ground with acorns around an old oak tree that I came across. I have been noticing that there is a very early stage in dreaming that starts right before I fall asleep, with images flashing through my mind and it is easy to manipulate my dreams at that point since I am still conscious. Anyone else notice this about themselves?

How do you tell yourself your dreaming WHILE your dreaming?

Read some books and articles on how to lucid dream. One way I read about was to pretend that you are asleep when you are awake. Look around and repeat several times to yourself, "Wow! This is a dream. I can see so clearly...look at what I can do...". Look around, examine different objects, etc. You are tricking yourself to be more aware in your dreams. Just a suggestion.

the flashing things, yes

but I rarely pay attention to them.... and I've been trying to keep myself conscious while on that, but I forget after a few seconds and fall asleep.

well... it's really hard.... it doesn't come up just like that.... first of all, it takes practice to be able to do cool things.... and certain factors make you have a lucid dream....
To be able to lucid dream, you have to be able to remember your dreams first..... to do that, the moment you wake up, don't move and try to remember your dream...
When you are able to remember most of your dreams... try this: Before you go to sleep, repeat in your mind that you're going to dream, and you will notice it... also, something useful is to think about dreaming most of the time while you're awake.. that might trigger it during your dream..... Some people even practice it, they look at their hands during the day and ask themselves if they're dreaming, just to lucid dream...

I've been looking up pages and there are actually online classes I'm taking for lucid dreaming practice :cabbagepatch:

I tried it last night but I can't tell if it worked or not cause i don't remember my dream(s) :fuming:

I can remember dreams pretty well i just couldn't remember having a dream last night...idk why..maybe i like jynxed myself or something...and the website is Lucidity.com they have tips classes exercises lessons everything! :ecstatic:

THE FOLLOWING IS ENTIRELY MY OPINION: Jeez. I think thats pretty cool but dreaming isn't supposed to be serious. Anything can happen in a dream. It should be FUN. Your dreams however sound (to me) more like precognition. I think anythings possible so why make a big deal out of it? Your brain creates dreams out of your memories and life experiences that you either think about constantly or push so far to the back of your mind that they just pop up. The only difference is it takes those memories and alters them to it's own extent. (the way YOU wanted the experience to go or just based on thoughts and emotion) Please don't take offense to this; I find all of this absolutely fascinating; I just don't know how serious you should take your own imagination. Our minds are mesmerizing aren't they? :wideeye:

actually.... it really depends.... Lucidity can be fun, and there's nothing wrong with playing around in your dreams for a few times... but dreams aren't only memories.. it's a way for your subconscious to communicate with you, and he (yes, your subconscious can be referred to as another person) teaches you what you're doing wrong in your life through dreams... that's why there's a dream dictionary, to know what the heck your subconscious is trying to say to you... At least, from what I've read, that's what dreams seem to be
Restating my opinion: Lucid dreaming is ok, and it sure is fun, but you also gotta let your dreams be non-lucid too :3

I've just uncovered flying, also i can talk with animals which is awesome. Also i am an amazing marksman able to pep any ace at any distance. And lightning quick reflexes, but not all the time with those

and I have shape shifted but it only happened twice so unsure of how to do that exactly. I just started taking control of my lucid dreams a few months ago and I am loving them whole-heartedly!

I know exactly what you mean about that "Early stage" for a while now it;s been the only way i can get to sleep though :dreams:

. If i don't I'm in too much pain (medical stuffs) to let my body calm down :goldblob:

But it's great it allows your mind to be calm so you can travel your subconcious and figure out certain things. ANother thing i tell my self before i go to sleep is, "Time to check out the universe, or galaxy. Depending on how much exploration I feel I can take that night! :ecstatic:

Aw man, where to start!

Well, first of all, my abilities all depend on my dream.

I can fly, but barely. I have to work so hard just to get off the ground and stay flying, but even then I will fall back down at some point.
I can manipulate elements. Usually one per dream. Most common is fire, most recent was air.
Shape-shifting is kind of a given. You become someone different quite frequently in dreams. I always end up turning into a boy, and if I don't, I'll force the change.
I stay asleep when I die. I can not be awoken by being killed in any way.
A few days ago I had the ability to run really fast (but to be fair, I had rocket skates xD) and last night I tried running but ended up hopping really dreadfully slowly.
I turned invisible one time. Awesome as hell.
Portal guns are plenty in my dreamland, too. I had to kill Dracula's brides by shooting a portal at the floor and in the sea. Greeaaaatttt.

Dreams are amazing, but mine are very limited in abilities. What I wrote may seem a lot, but I can only do those things to an extent. If I want to bend an element, I need to concentrate really hard and move my body like they do when water bending in Avatar.
Fire balls? Yeah, I need a wand.
Flying. BItch you won't leave the floor without training to jump and use those wings of yours.
Invisibility. Start concentrating.
Portals. Gimme the Portal gun, junior.
Immortality? Yeah, you gotta be a ghost and find something that will bring you back from the dead. Good luck with that.
Speed. Rocket boots.

Good times.

I need all this stuff to get away from whoever decides to chase me until I'm dead in my dreams. Every dream consists of me running, but hell, I enjoy it. The hunt is what I live for. If it gives me opportunities to defy logic, then BRING IT ON.
I'll fight anything you send my way (and run rather effectively too)!

I guess if you don't know what's happening it might be hard. I have no way of helping you with this, but I have always known that I was dreaming in my dreams. It's fairly difficult not to notice as everything is cartoony/anime-like.
So I just stand there thinking, ok, dream scenario. What do I have to do.
Then I just go ahead with whatever needs to be done in my dream.

It's weird, I guess, but I always know when I am dreaming.

i cant lucid dream yet

but my friend does every night! she said that every dream she has she knows is a dream and she can control it completely, if she doesnt like it she wakes herself up, and if a dream she likes is disrupted she can go back to sleep and carry on with it!!
she hasnt even practiced lucid dreaming and didnt even know what it was until i told her, she could just always do this!

Every time I lucid dream I always fly really high and I have this ability to produce energy balls that comes out of my hand,it's always colored white.The energy ball is like a lightning ball. :rasberry:

I can't seem to fly unless I really and truly concentrate. I wish I could easily though haha. I have fallen out of the sky many many times.

I can teleport though, which is useful, and I can move things telepathically by directing them with my hands. I can call past dream characters I've met in previous dreams to hang out and talk haha. I can use kidou, if anyone here is a Bleach fan :excited:

. I can "animalize" into a panther-like creature to move unrealistically fast. Lately I've been able to melt into the shadows, hopefully that sticks (: . I need to develop more abilities for fighting in my nightmares though :lol:

Oh, and sometimes I can write what comes next in the dream as if it were a storybook. I only write the beginning though and then I get to act out what happens and see how it turns out. It often turns into adventures and sometimes into epics, which are really fun

I used to do this more when I was younger, but I could fly in my dreams quite easily. It's usually over a city where the buildings are black and the edges are ctiny coloured dots.
I've done that many a time, but my only problem was if I landed, the lucitidy cut out! I was able to guide myself through the cityscape, usually following street patterns.

I always remember one time where I was flying along a cityscape wondering where to go next, when a block was floating in front of me and I just knew there was a vampire behind it with intent to harm. I willed it not to lunge out at me as I seemed drawn to the box. I knew it was going to happen either way so I forced myself to believe the vampire had a stupid face and wonky broken teeth, so when it did lunge out, I looked as I had wanted it to and I just laughed!

I've not had a lucid dream in years, sometimes I miss them.

I haven't discovered any of these. All I have learned is how to fly, and I cannot stay in the air for more than a few seconds. Any way I could figure out any better powers? Oh, and I have a super form that I cant maintain for more that 7 seconds. It's frustrating! Help!

I find that, just like in this world, practice makes perfect. So anytime I'm in my dream world, and I'm not doing anything in particular, I try to develop and solidify my abilities. I find the more I use them, the easier they become to wield. As for attaining abilities, for me, it takes boatloads of confidence and practice to invent a single ability. Most of my abilities, if not all, have come when I have not been lucid and they were granted to me as part of the "storyline" of the dream. They merely just stuck and I can still use them for future dreams. (they don't all stick though haha). I don't know if anyone has another technique (if they do, I'd like to know it! :lol:

I use to be able to lucid dream very well, but no so much anymore, as my brain discovered a way to outsmart itself into making me believe I'm awake when at first I knew I wasn't. I use to say in my dream when I recognized something was off, "This is a dream, I know it's a dream because I'm dreaming." It enabled me to control whathappened and It feels really cool.. although I couldn't really do much. I also had to fight myself to stay "Down" in the dream, because it constantly felt like I was being pulled up from the dreams.

I could teleport, or change the scene to my preference.

And lastly I could change the age, gender, and appearance other others.

Now a days, at times I recognize I'm dreaming, but for some reason I can't do anything about it and I quickly loose power over what happens again.

i have lucid dreamed only 5 or 6 times and figured out that i can run on water, fly, and also i think i have noticed that it becomes a lower gravity once im lucid dreaming (i don't know why) so thats all i can do but when i fly it's only for a couple of seconds.
once i got scared by my lucid dreaming and ran through the walls and jumped of a cliff to wake up.

Hi I am new to these forums.. but I am a dreamer too : I foresee things in my dreams but they are often in an abstract form.. and hence I usually understand my dreams when the incident happens. I would like to know if we all can become lucid dreamers? And can we go places we wish to go as a lucid dreamers? Or can we meet our dead loved ones in our dreams when we wish to?

@Sofiiii,

We all have the potential to become lucid dreamers through practice and determination. Once you can attain lucidity and sustain it, you may travel anywhere you wish once you develop the technique and discipline over your mind. As for visiting the deceased, I believe it takes a special gift to truly contact the dead once more. They may come to you, but for someone to initiate contact (I imagine) it would be difficult.

I would say half of my dreams are Lucid, I do not know how to control them exactly, but flying is my most used thing I do, most of the time I cannot fly real high, most of the time I fly to barely exscape something, but last night I flew really fast to my dads house at night to confront him and let him know there was an assassin on the way to exterminate him. :balloons:

Ok so here are more things I remember I can do great parkour, also one time I was able to jump off a roof and dive right into the road where I created a portal to go unto another roof when some british cops were chasing me. Recently I had a very stressful dream where I did good backflips teleported a lot, and at the end I pulled out a mini machine gun that I kept telling myself I had in my pocket and I mowed down a crowd then woke up right after heart pounding!

The only thing I could do is rewind my dreams. Like if I'm being chased by a murderer or something in a maze and I ended up running into a dead end, when I realize that I'm dreaming, I'd think, "Wait, wait! I didn't mean to go there!" and I would rewind my dream back to the moment where I could run somewhere else.
I remember the first time I did that and then waking up thinking, "Oh my god...." Now, I've done it a lot of time where I just don't care anymore.

Also last night, I just discovered that I gave myself like martial arts skills, lol. That was weird.

I sat there on the floor with my forehead on my arms... shivering. Everyone tells me that I'm crazy. One day when God begins the 7 years of hell, people will see that God put me here for a reason. God is using me to help.

My dreams aren't just for myself. They're for everyone. Specific people; I find those people. This is what my life is about.

Im turning 20 ,have piercings, do lots of drugs, I ussualy have black hair and my favorite band, artist and personel hero is marilyn manson. Unless you have a mental dieases if the only reason why you were in a asylum was because of those reasons then i am sorry someone steered you wrong in life.

I can do anything i want in my lucid dreams, If they dont work the first time i have to focus a bit harder. Ive also come to the realization that anything i do thats to intense i wake up. Ussualy with a head qche which proves to me its like a musle lucid dreams
