Dreams about my Death PLEASE HELP

Postby mydreamjournal on Wed Aug 01, 2012 8:13 pm

For the past week, I've been having dreams (sometimes lucid) about my death. I don't actually get to the part where I die, but I am dying in my dreams. In one dream, I fell off a rollercoaster. In the other, I overdosed on pills. These feel so real to me and I want to know what they mean! They're really scaring me!

Hi mydreamjournal,

First and foremost don't worry. Dreams are a very small part of either something at the back of your mind or worry that might not be addressed and has addressed itself in dream. Next thing is if you are aware you are dreaming then you know it's a lucid dream. Lucid dreaming is normally at the beginning stages of dreaming within the first 1-3 hrs (sometimes at the last 1-3hrs) before proper REM dreaming begins and your mind and body are in recharge mode. Regardless of this if you are aware you are dreaming then this is good. Always remember this is your mind and body - if you know you are dreaming then you begin to control your own surroundings. If you sense yourself in danger or feel something bad is going to happen you can literally take flight - disappear or wake yourself up. It's when the dream itself controls you - that you have to overcome.

Now, if it isn't lucid dreaming - and you don't know you are dreaming and this is happening still, don't worry. Sometimes strangely 'Death' in a dream is like the 'Death card' is to tarot cards - it doesn't necessarily mean you are going to die (95% never is) but that a part of you is possibly changing. And this could mean a good thing - maybe something your life has changed or changing / beginning. Say you were upset at yourself for being a certain way (or you want to kick a smoking habit and want to stop this) you are essentially in a exaggerated dream state making a life decision (ironically) and are killing off a part of you that you do not like - or want to change.

Another reason it could be is a curiosity or fear of death - which we all get and dream about at one point in our lives. First and foremost don't worry!

I hope i have been some help - any further questions or worries let me know.

Unlike the scientific version, as stated above, there is another possibility that a lot of people don't take into account - Reincarnation.

It is possible that your mind is dreaming of past-lifetime-deaths, and that these events were crucial to you because they will determine how you choose to die, in this lifetime.

No one has the right to call me a hypocrite, in this situation, due to my experience with Death (the act of dying, not Death himself). I have dreamt all my life of death, dying, being reborn, reincarnation, etc. So, I could explain a bit on this topic, but I am going to need more details from you, and if this is a Lucid Dream, then you should be able to push your mind to enter within these unlocked doors in an attempt to open your mind to these possibilities that could be occurring.

Here's what you can do, if you wish to help yourself, by giving yourself answers and relief, and perhaps even changing your philosophy on life.

1) Next time you dream about death or dying, try to analyze it for what it is. Log this in a journal, and make note of every single detail you can think of when you wake up.

2) Think of this as an attempt to explore your mind. You can discover things about yourself that no one could or would ever know. Only you can discover these details, memories, etc. because only you have it in your mind. So, until memories can be downloaded and transferred, it's up to you to do the work that you must do.

Tip: If you do not wish to explore your mind, then you will likely be a zombie; simply walking through life with no care about yourself.

3) If you can gain enough control, try to take different paths in the dream. For example, instead of taking the pills, try to throw them away on the floor, or try to take different pills. Whichever comes to mind, from your heart (so-to-speak), you should follow. Trust your instincts and they will lay out a path within your dreams for what you must do.

Little hint: Now, I'm not sure if this is the same as with all dreams, but your dreams may be a little chaotic, confusing, and lost. So, don't expect this to happen, correctly, the first 5 times. Sometimes it can take 30-45 days of dreaming about the same dream everyday straight, in order to figure out what that dream meant.
