Metatarsalgia

Postby Lillith on Mon Jul 09, 2012 5:41 am

I would like to know if anyone here has ever suffered with this condition?

I have been diagnosed with it and I am suffering immensely on a daily basis as a result. I do not have the luxury of resting my foot for 6 weeks, so I would like to know if anyone has any suggestions on home remedies etc.

Thanks :D

Have a look at this site. I get something like that, but only while I am actually running or hiking for long distances. I would think from a postural perspective, something like massage or doing yoga would have some effect and change your gait and posture which could help keep you from overstretching the foot. The articles say's there are special foot pads to help with this problem. I use Epsom salt soaks for almost any kind of foot pain. Hot Epsom salt soaks are contra indicated if you are diabetic or have certain kinds of nerve damage in your feet, so keep that in mind if you choose Epsom salts.

Have you tried icing it? If so, did it help?
