Over the past couple weeks, i've had bad anxiety attacks. What can I do to help manage them?

I recommend meditation and calm rational self loving consideration your life issues and stressor's

Getting perspective on them is prob the best cure for what on the surface seems un provoked panic.

Xanax and meds that affect the brain are dangerous, can create a dependency, mask the pain

mask the worry and other mental foibles (that are often the root cause) allow them to remain in your head

Anxiety is in part chemical imbalance and like with some antibiotics, that LAST thing

you want to do is make you psyche/brain partially immune to it's ability to heal naturally.

Pysch meds are a very slippery slope. BEWARE THEM.

Diet and exercise can help more than you might expect in conjunction with the above advise.

and may God Bless!

all more alike than different.

I used to have panic attacks. When you have one, focus on your breathing. In through your nose, out through your mouth. Don't curl into your body, that just intensifies the attack. Even though you won't want to, lay your body out and expose your chest. Will your body to release the tension. Numb your mind until you can get it under control. It helps to have a mantra to push out the thoughts. For instance, you could say "let it go", "breathe", "it's ok". Whatever you want. You also need to find out what is the cause of your anxiety. Then you need to face it. Kind of like immersion therapy. It will suck to face your fears, but the end result is worth it.

Also, what Tsetse said. Diet and exercise will definitely help. Exercise will drain all your excess energy. Cardio in particular will help with your breathing technique. Start jogging and work up to running. In order to prevent the stitch in your side you have to maintain proper breathing. Healthy foods will help purge toxins in your body and help you to feel better as well. If all else fails, meds may be the way to go. Just don't let your doctor dope you up on several kinds of meds. Start with the lowest dosage. Wait a about a month and see how you react to them. Pay attention to your body and mind. If you think that it's not enough, up your dosage to the next level and wait another month. And so on. NEVER mix them with illegal drugs or alcohol until you know how you react to the meds.

in 2005 i was having increasingly bad panic attacks i used canabis and alcohole to overcome them, but obviously this is not a perminent solution, so i started to learn yoga, with gentle streatching and deep breathing, also going for a short run. (it worked very quickly to reduce the intensity of attacks )

physically i belive panic attacks are caused by and excess amount of adrenaline which is not being utilised, so a short run, and streatch will use up the excess adreniline.

and the yogic breathing andf meditating that others have suggested will calm you nervous system down and allow you to get to the root of the cause in time and with patients.

happy dreaming :)

Do some exercise to control your anxiety.
Yoga is more effective treatment to control the anxiety and depression.
You should also take healthy diet in your daily routine and meet the people to handle your anxiety.
