i'll see if i can post photos of lower manhattan one of these days. i'm just not crazy about going downtown because the streets are confusing for me and i end up getting lost. especially around chinatown. i only go downtown just to use the gym.

it was beginning to rain so i couldn't spent too much time there. i've been giving my body a workout break so instead i decided to explore different neighborhoods on my free time. i enjoy exploring the rich neighborhoods just as much as the poor. the good thing about living in new york is that you have easy access to public transportation making it easy to go from one city to another or one neighborhood to another. the bad thing is, its expensive. ok, i'm done talking to myself.

yep they really cleaned up the city.
before the trains were cover with graffiti both inside and out, garbage was thrown everywhere, people would piss on the floors.
the neighborhoods that surprised me the most are time square and harlem. time square was filled with prostitutes, strip clubs, porn stores. you also had a high chance of getting pick-pocketed and robbed. now its mostly filled with disney stores and disney characters. instead of seeing prostitutes on the street corner you see disney characters.

harlem use to be filled with junkies, abandon buildings, you would see needles on the floor, graffiti was everywhere. kids couldn't play in the parks because the parks were filled with people sticking needles in their bodies to get high, shootouts would occur. it was a war zone, a place filled with violence. now its improving, businesses are starting to open up there. its still dangerous at night (especially east harlem, that seems to be the worst spot) but its improving alot compared to before.

i have more photos but i'll post them later tonight. i just got home.

I would so rather see Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck than trying to dodge all the pee, poop and garbage.
They only keep the rich / tourist areas well cleaned.
They really need to sort out the metro though. You feel dirty just standing in it.

I liked the pic of the buildings with the stairs going up to the doors. Always see that in movies.

the neighborhood is similar to that of the south bronx in which its mostly filled with housing projects. i don't recommend roaming around those neighborhoods. do so at your own risk.

yep, and i still have a lot more photos that i haven't posted up yet. what i like about the city, is the diversity of the neighborhoods. how you can walk from a Jewish neighborhood where its quiet, to a Spanish neighborhood where its filled with people and noise, to a poor black neighborhood in just minutes. but its hard to capture that from a picture.

the ones of the park is central park. grand central is a train station. i've been there but never photograph that place. i would like to take pictures at night but for some reason the pictures never come out good at night unless your in a very well lighted area such as time square.

Very cool. 8-) Opps about Grand Central. lol I'm obviously not a New Yorker, but still I should have known the difference. Are the trains and subways up and working now?

i enjoy walking through these neighborhoods. if there is one thing i love about the city is the cultural diversity. so i decided to film a spanish neighborhood, a black neighborhood, an asian, and indian neighborhood.
