What inspires you?

Postby amyhikel » Mon Jul 25, 2011 7:17 pm

Hm. I have this burning desire to create. I feel like I need to outpour this unused ... energy ... into some project, some form of creation. When I experience masterfully created art, film, literature or music, I feel like I, too, have the ability to create such wonderful works for others enjoyment & want to badly.

But .. it seems I have no ideas, no inspiration, no motivation of my own..
It's there but all pent up, and I don't know how I should go about releasing it.
What sorts of things give you inspiration before you endeavor to do art?

I, too feel the need to create. Watching films can inspire me to write and make a film of my own. The work of Stanley Kubrick inspires me especially.

Yes! Dreams are incredibly inspiring. I sometimes use the surreal settings for my short stories.

Mm, I know whatcha mean. I definitely feel the same way when I watch movies or listen to orchestral music. Epic movies and symphonic scores are like, larger-than-life things to me. They're these massive productions that I have the potentiality to create in my mind, but to make them a reality is another story. No I won't be the writer/director of a major motion picture anytime soon, but I have studied cinematography to a small degree and can express creativity in home movies. No I can't write music for an entire orchestra, but I can attempt to piece things together in orchestral sampling programs. See what I'm saying?

Try making a movie or learning an instrument. You won't regret it. =]

What inspires you

Postby verioutfive » Mon Sep 26, 2011 1:00 pm

What inspires you to play the drums? Is it the same as what first inspired you?

For me, its mostly a simple love of music, and since I know the drums, its my best outlet. But theres a whole lot more to it.

What inspires me is the unknown. I draw based off of my moods, basically my favorite animals/things. I like drawing Dragons, personally. Some of them are storming about their cave, or flying gracefully, some of them are nurturing hatchlings, some of them are being hit with a broomstick on the head by a woman who is confused and scared at her welcoming site when she comes home from the store. You know, things like that :D

I always feel inspired after looking at the work of certain artists. My favourite artist at the moment has to be CrookedTrees. After seeing his artwork I just could not resist trying to express myself through drawing. I'm a terrible artist. I have almost no knowledge of anatomy or even basic lighting. But I keep at it, feeling really driven, until something good comes out.
Here and here are a couple emulations he did of other artists' work.
Here's an original piece.

Well if I play my flute I usually and up drawing of something graceful compared to what I normally do such as,Couples,Self portraits, also animals occasionally.
My dreams do inspire me enough to do stories but not drawing. Other then that what normal inspires me would be people in general and my moods.

What he said. My dream is to someday make films of my own. :P
Also, music and dreams inspire me a lot. I've had dreams that gave me ideas for stories that could be made into short films. And music helps me uh.. "sculpt" the scene. I get a very clear image of how I'd shoot a scene when I listen to some music. :)

So, yeah. Films, music, dreams. Sometimes art, in the form of paintings or drawings or whatever, but that only happens rarely, 'cause, while I do appreciate art like that, I find it very "static" and it doesn't really fuel my creative fires as much as the aforementioned three do. :)
I have fallen in love with the sky.

I like photos very much, because I think that they’re the dearest memory in our life. Also I like when photos are in the beautiful frames which decorate your house and fill it with warmth and coziness. In my mind any photo certainly must be in the cool frame, because without it – photo will be incomplete. From my part I can advise you to dig this where everyone will find huge assortment of different frames – any form or size. I always buy here perfect wooden frames, because in my opinion they’re more cordial and soulful. Visit this site and you won’t be sorry for this choice I assure you. And good luck you and creative inspiration! :)

I get inspiration from walks in the wild and from riding roller coasters. Inspiration floods me when i take a day to the beach and swim for hours. A good nights work is often written after a day spent smoking reefer and hiking up the pine hills behind where i grew up.
Cemeteries have a darker inspiration but see i also get inspiration from emotional hurt and spiritual decay.
Every moment i am filled with the inspiration to create my experience and to be full filled in my life.
Beware that no one lead you astray saying Lo here or lo there! For the Son of Man is within you. Follow after Him! Those who seek Him will find Him. Go then and preach the gospel of the Kingdom.
