Hey, did i tell you that there is a slight chance i might move to Florida?! My daddy went down there yesterday for a job interview, and they want him to come back! They'd have to pay him a good deal of money for us to even consider moving, but it is a slight possibility. I am excited and scared all at the same time! I think it would be an adventure, but then again i would miss my friends. And what if it's a bad neighborhood? I am very anxious, sometimes in a good way, and sometimes in a bad way. My poor dad, though, he got stuck in the airport all night because of the storms. :( he's probably going to be REAL grumpy when he gets back!

well, if you moved close enough, we might be able to actually meet and hang out and stuff :) That would be awesome :D

if he does take the job, i have to wish you luck with the move, as i have moved a few times in the past 3 years, and it was never easy... and the pets should have an interesting trip ;)

I had to sit in a taxi with 7 cats pissing themselves and a dog. :banghead:
I've nearly had to move to California a few times, after a few too many words exchanged with my mother, usually ending in 'I'm sending you to your father, I'm sure he wants to see you'.
Wow, Cay I hope everything goes well with moving and such if you do. It's a bugger being inbetween knowing and not knowing eh>?

I was thinking of that, too, and that is part of the reason why i am not extremely terrified of moving. The fact that i might know someone from that place makes me feel better about it. my mom is obsessing about all the "what ifs" and it is making me uneasy. :D i think i'll be fine.

Thank you! the sad thing is, my dad said that the pets can't come. :crying: he says they'd be happier here. i don't want to go if my pets can't go! :( i doubt we will move, but ever since the interview, the chance of us moving has gone up quite a bit. once we start talking money, though, that's when we can really decide if we're moving or not.

wow. that sounds pleasant. :D it's always comforting to know that if one parent doesn't want to deal with you, that they can send you to the other parent, isn't it. i have noticed that when i am in trouble with my mom, i'm not her daughter anymore, i'm my dad's daughter, because she always says "your daughter did this" and whatever. i feel the love, mom. :D Thanks Vikki! i am kinda nervous about the whole ordeal. it sounds like fun, but we'd have to live in the city, and i hate the city. i'm a country girl through and through. :D

Haha, I felt sorry for the taxi dude driver. I was like sat there awkwardly in the back, with my music pumping so I wouldn't have to hear anything. XD Haha, well it's a bit hard in this case, we don't exactly know where he is. XD All I know is he's 'meant' to be somewhere in California. So I'm like "Yeah mum, good luck finding him." Haha, aww Cay. Just be like: "Well you're the git who got it rumpy and made me, I didn't have a say in it :nodding: " Although you'd probably get a slap, so don't take my advice on parents. EVER.

City, euuughghhhhhhhHhhHhHh. We have few cities although we tend to have more 'areas' of a place that are real terrible. Haha, where I am reminds me of Santa Carla in the 80's. Or what I've seen of it in The Lost Boys. :whistling:

I really don't want want to leave them. i don't know who is going to get them if we do move, though. I've lost numerous pets in my lifetime, but the dearest ones were my cats Shadow and Ashley, and my first rat, Stella. Shadow got hit by a car, and that was devastating, and Ashley hung around for a while, and then she disappeared, and Stella, well, Stella got a tumor in her ovaries, and i had to watch her suffer for a week before she finally died. i felt so horrible. shortly before that, my aunt's house had burned down, so it was a double hit. at least these ones won't be dead, right? :D

i had to watch my cat - kris - die slowly from pussy bite-like wounds all over his hind-part... he looked like he was melting from the inside out, making little holes that leaked puss whenever they were touched... or not touched... and all he wanted to do was sit with us, but we couldnt stand the smell of the puss - it smelled like shit, literally - and he was too gooey to touch without making you want to barf... i felt horrible whenever he tried to sit with me, and i just couldnt let him... :crying: i did what i could to make him feel as "ok" as i could... we all did... but it wasnt enough... he was dieing a slow and agonizing death and we just couldnt watch him suffer anymore... i was the only one who didnt go when they put him down (murdered him)... i didnt have anything else to do that day, i just couldnt handle it... i knew i wouldnt be able to make it... i would break down or punch out the doctor or just stay there all night staring at my dead cat, crying, my tears falling into his puss-filled wounds... and i knew that would not have been good for any of us... it was hard enough... i still feel horrible for not going, though... but the other night i had a dream about him... he came up and sat on my lap - like he used to before he got sick - and looked up at me like he was saying "its alright, i still love you, too", and then he closed his eyes and fell asleep - in a dream i was having, no less - and i woke up and almost cried... but it was a cry of joy, knowing that he didnt resent me for it... and yet... one of sorrow... wishing he would still be there, sleeping in my lap, when i opened my eyes... *sigh* i couldnt have helped him any more than i did, even if i knew how... i just hope it was enough to keep him from hating me... i wish i could've gone and seen him one last time, but............. :crying: :crying:

:crying: :crying: i'm sure he understood. Cats are smart animals. That dream was probably his way of telling you not to worry about him. I know i wouldn't have been able to see them kill my cat either. my parents would have dragged me along, though, because they wouldn't have wanted me to stay home alone, and i would have had to sit there and watch the whole thing. It's amazing, the bond that is shared between a human and their pet. A sort of friendship that can't be rivaled by that of humans. It's beautiful.

All my pets are my friends, too. I can tell them anything, and they seem to understand. No, they don't just seem to understand, they DO understand. That's what i love about my pets, they love me, regardless of how i look, or of how smart i am, or anything other people judge me by. They just love me because i am kind to them, and i take good care of them. They don't assume that i am double-crossing them, cheating on them, lying to them, or anything else, they just love me. That is why i adore my "pets".

Of course they're still with you. A love like the one shared by human and animal is not so easily broken. Death can not stop love in any context.

Isn't it? i was surprised! I was doing three things at once while i was writing it: talking to you on gaia, talking to everyone on dreammoods, and trying to come up with a creative tek tek. it's a wonder i got it done at all!

wow, that's been a long time ago! what's the contest called? i entered a poetry contest in february, and i haven't gotten anything back from them, either. i entered "desperation" in the contest, but my teacher helped me edit it so that it would be 21 lines or less, and it kind of lost something after that.

~ Emotional Maelstrom ~

He woke up one morning
And felt in his heart
His love, evergrowing
Would tear him apart

For, he felt so strongly
For more than one girl
All beautifully perfect
In each, his whole world

He loved them completely
Though, sometimes, unwilling
He'd never consider
A soul for a shilling

His body, in pieces
Now swept by the wind
He'd not be forgiven
For how he has sinned

His soul to his first love
His heart to his second
His mind with the third girl
To home he was beckoned

But he know not when
Nor where he would find it
A light he commands
Knew not where to shine it

Three girls in three states
Ironically so
His heart gave three options
His mind told him, "NO!"

A house, so divided
Could not ever stand
Is this also true of
The heart of a man?

He loved all three women
The farthest was first
The others much closer
His love bubble burst

For he wanted more
And needed it, too
He needed three lovers
But what could he do?

His life complicated
Completely unwhole
He made few good choices
Mind-blind, like a mole

When he found his second
His first felt betrayed
She found someone else who
She thought, with she's stay

His third, though, confused
In love, plus a crush
Her heart's indecision
Had made it too much

So his current "legal"
Was his second lover
His heart now convulsing
He loved one above her

His first having problems
Though, wouldn't explain
However, not stupid
He knew she felt pain

But how could he fix it
If she wouldn't talk?
He knew this conundrum
His mind, now, would stalk

For when she was ready
Or close to a break
He would break her fall
Her life, now, at stake

But until that moment
His soul stayed with her
To keep company
And never disperse

He always would lover her
So true to all three
His heart left with nothing
But this painful plee:

"Help, someone, help me
I've failed yet again
Help me gain power
To save all of them!"

Ooh, Steven, i like this poem! It's wonderful! My favorite stanza is:

His soul to his first love
His heart to his second
His mind with the third girl
To home he was beckoned

I can honestly feel your pain through the words of this poem. You are a great writer to be able to do that. "(can) You make folks feel what you feel inside". (The Ride by David Allan Coe. It's a good song. Somehow your poem reminded me of it)
Anyway, your poem is great. I also like this stanza:

His third, though, confused
In love, plus a crush
Her heart's indecision
Had made it too much

Reminds me of my own life...

God is an Atheist

This may sound confusing
But really it’s not
No, I am not drunk, and
I do not smoke pot

This “God” that you speak of
He’s within us all?
If that is the case
Then who breaks your fall?

When everything’s burning
And melting away
You jump from the building
When falling, you pray

But if “he”s inside you
Then who gets your prayer?
You jump in death’s taxi
But who pays your fare?

You head for the entrance
Those pearly white gates
But if “God” is in you
Then who, there, awaits?

If “God” is inside you
Apart of yourself
Then what is the purpose
In asking for help?

If you don’t believe
That you can survive
Since “God” is part of you
Is he, then, alive?

If you are a skeptic
Or just don’t believe
Than part of you’s missing
And you self-deceive

But what to believe in
When “God”s in us all
Believe in yourself
And you will still fall

Believe in the “God”
Who’s deep in your heart
Your faith doesn’t matter
When you break apart

If strength you are lacking
Extreme pain you feel
You see no way out of
A fate you have “sealed”

You look to a power
Greater than yourself
But where is that power?
Away on a shelf?

That power, within you
Grows great with belief
But strength can be taken
If you are the thief

Nobody can take it
Except if you let them
But then if you do that
Those gates, you won’t get them

If “God” is inside you
And you don’t believe
In yourself you place
Much doubt and receive

The title that many
Call an “Atheist”
But “God”, himself, is you
Now ain’t that a twist?

You don’t believe
In yourself or “God”
You both are atheist
Now don’t that sound odd?

But just think about it
You’ll find it is true
You don’t believe in him
Nor does he in you

Now which will it be
Belief or demise?
Regardless of which “God”
In you it resides

Wow, i love that poem! It's kinda funny because today this one kid and i got into a "discussion" about which religion was the "right" one, and if there was one god, no god, or many. This poem is very cool and very philosophical! I like it!

April Fools!

She woke up one morning
And knew that this day
Would be her last fun time
For jokes she could play

And so she decided
To go out with a bang
Her friends found not funny
Her joke when she rang

Her last April Fools joke
Was somewhat surprising
“Surprise! I am pregnant!”
Could use some revising

“Hey guys, April Fools!”
They all were freaked out
“Oh my God, you’re crazy…”
Was all they squeaked out

They, mad for a while,
Did not want to talk
She didn’t say, “sorry”
So, away, they walked

“It was just a joke!”
She said, so uncaring
Of what her words meant
The weight they were baring

Though she sounded mad
Did not understand
This issue, too great
To joke, or command

The fear that she caused them
Remains to this day
Though she has forgotten
It won’t go away

And now they are worried
Though, trusting her, still
She’d little protection
Now long off the pill

But she wouldn’t do it
Unless she was sure
One hundred percent that
Her “friend” loved her pure

And so they could trust her
Though, worried, they were
She scared them, unknowing
Of what she could stir

But even this memory
Confusing and cruel
Could not stop them loving
Their friend, past the duel

Easter Surprise

The day of Easter’s Eve
A parent made a call
But little did he know
That he had dropped the ball

The paper in his hand
Had many names and numbers
He tried to reach each one
Resulting in a bummer

He reached the last two numbers
And he could not decide
For if he chose the wrong one
It would be suicide

His wife was quite obsessive
When it came to the kids
Last year they went to Sea World
And kept close like the squids

At times this was a good thing
But sometimes, not so much
He knew if something happened
She’d scream at him a bunch

So he then left a message
For both the companies
And that Sunday they waited
For the “Easter” Bunny

However they were careless
Did not check their machine
One company responded
“No bunny to be seen.”

And so they waited, patient
Unknowing of surprise
A Playboy Bunny entered
And all bugged out their eyes

Some things were expected
The kids all scarred for life
The husband, though, could not help
Staring at his wife

He thought “She’s gonna kill me”
And, thus, did not expect
To see a kinky smile
Across her face, be swept

He’s known that she was “special”
The second that he saw her
But now he understood why
And couldn’t help but gawk her

“Let’s send these kiddies home, now”
She said with lustful eyes
“And once they all have left us,
We’ll play with your surprise…”

She licked her lips so slowly
While staring at the bunny
He looked at both and smiled
Tonight they’d taste her honey

But who was more surprised her?
The husband or the wife?
But then it didn’t matter
This cured their marriage strife

They lay in bed together
Exhausted from surprise
He dreamed the night continued
When he had closed his eyes

Unequal Equivalence

Such terrible times
We live in, I say
A man, one day, living
Is dead the next day

So many, the reasons
Why, taken, his life
From borrowing money
To marital strife

The worst, eve now
Is racism’s spread
You wake up one morning
By noontime you’re dead

For even in freedom
Nobody is free
Especially people
Who’s color’s skin-deep

If you think about it
It doesn’t make sense
But people are crazy
They’d fight over cents

Not even a dollar
Off life’s money tree
It should be devoured
By flames, you ask me

As racism wages
A war over skin
And, just as bad, even
Over religion

The Nazis’ example
Of irony’s war
His mother was Jewish
His family was torn

I guess every problem
Within every child
Stems straight from the family
Now isn’t that wild?

If parents and siblings
Or gone, not alive
The child grows tougher
Self-taught to survive

Though, hard as a diamond
Every rock cracks
The weak spot, located
It’s love that he lacks

No love ever given
To defenseless munchkins
Results in behavior
So bad, even drunken

But, then, even if
The family exists
Possibility
Of damage persists

If treated unfairly
Or scarred deep enough
He might grow immune, or
Increasingly rough

Effects vary greatly
With each different soul
Different life choices
Come from different molds

With family, or lonely
The difference is clear
Love is half the battle
The other half, fear

The two greatest weapons
Manipulative
Depend on the wielder
Communicative

In suffering’s chaos
We’re seemingly equal
But everyone’s different
We wait for the sequel
