it's science fiction, i think... but it's set in a different world with similarities to ours, but there are special people who have strong powers that can alter the world and the people in it at certain times. It's pretty interesting and there is a lot of scandal and twists within the main story.

[color=#BF0000]I know I failed 4 or most likely 5 subjects..... I know it's my fault... I just became empathetic... I just don't care...... and I forget too.... today's card day so there's a big chance that my parents will take away my stuff..... Like that time I didn't make a business plan for L.E 'cause I forgot and my group mates didn't remind me either (I'm not blaming anyone, just putting some points to strengthen my side) so my teacher said, " I don't want to see you in summer class"

And I thought, "Don't worry teacher, you won't see me next year"

My username is ****, I am 14 years old. I once had a nice life.... in a way. My dad used to be a drunkard and abusive and would always send me and my sisters locked in the bathroom for hours especially when we don't sleep when we where told so. My mother would use a belt, a hanger, a slipper, anything she see to hit us when we disappoint her or if we don't sleep when we where told so. We where tutored in school and me and my sisters weren't smart nor do we have the greatest mind to remember as we kept forgetting so our tutor would hit us whenever she's pissed. My mom and tutor would pinch and twist our ear until our ears are swollen red for days.

I used to love hugs and act childish... my parents and tutor don't do that now... but.... I just turned cold. Whenever I'm angry or crying, I have to hold it in until my head hurts and heats up like an oven. I was pressured. Now I don't care if I die, my parents die, I could care less if the whole world rots too. Having a boyfriend never crossed my mind nor am I interested in it. Now I'm hardly interested in love or hugs until slowly, gradually, my heart is secretly stone cold. I'm still pressured and we're still blamed for a lot of things that we didn't do and all the while, I have to shut my mouth because even if I 'protrest' they will think I'm "talking back."

I just wish I'm dead or killed, now I'm crying as I type this. I hardly care for my education, I hardly care for love, I don't care if everyone dies and I thought, "Why am I still alive? Why bother living when less people care for me? I'm always forgotten in school and friends just come and go and I found out I have social anxiety and feelings hurts. I think I'm ugly and most especially, stupid while forgetting isn't an excuse...

Besides, isn't it my fault?

can you see IT now ?

I finished the book. It was an easy read.
It's about a boy that wants to leave home to find his 'personal legend', his goal in life. So, he buys some sheep to breed and sell, so he can make money for the journey. He leaves Spain and travels across North Africa until he reaches The Pyramids .

He makes and loses large sums of money, as well as his possessions.

He meets several people along the way and they each give philosophical views that enrich his life. One of them is the Alchemist.

He reaches The Pyramids and starts digging in the sand for his treasure. A man comes by and makes a comment about finding treasure in a vacant field by a Sycamore tree, the same field where he grazed his sheep back in Spain.

You get different lessons from the book. One is that everyone should have a goal in their life, a burning desire to do something and don't keep dreaming about it. Make it happen.

Sometimes what you want most in life is right in your backyard and not half a world away.

And a man's life is not complete without a woman's love.......he meets a girl along the way.

It's a pretty good book if you read between the lines. No wonder it is still in print after 25 years.

It is a really good example of Camus' philosophy. It really opened my eyes to how different people deal with the "absurdity" of life in different ways.

Hi Tal,

So you bumped this old thread up, I see. Reading dreammoods.com?
Well, yeah. Me too.

I am also reading the series, A Song of Ice and Fire by George RR Martin. It is the fantasy series that the TV show Game of Thrones is based on. I am on the fourth book of the five that have been written. The word on the street is that the books have no conclusion as of yet. There is a fifth book promised, but it has been years. Apparently, the story on the TV shows has progressed way past the books as of yet. So, the readers are hoping for an alternate ending.

I plan to watch the TV shows after I have finished the books. I enjoy the story very much. My one critique is that he goes overboard with graphic sex scenes. I could do without it.

Peace,
Operator Mike
