An oddly annoying reoccuring dream.

Postby Nowhereman on Sun Dec 07, 2008 1:24 am

For the past few weeks, I've been having the same exact dream incorporated into different dreams I've been having. I've looked through this website but nothing really fits together.

I'm on a boat and I see my best friend at the stern with her feet in the water. she splashing water onto the deck so I go to join her. I put my own feet in the water, and she tells me about some event (always involving a shark). Of course, this makes me paranoid and I imagine a shark dragging me down into the water so I get up to leave. Unfortunately, all I can see is the water and the supposed shark in the back of my mind and my feet keep slipping. I can't seem to stand up and my friend doesn't seem to notice that I'm freaking out beside her. Then, I feel myself being pulled up onto the deck by my boyfriend and he says he needs to tell me something. I can't hear what he's trying to tell me, though, because the waves are being abnormally loud.

Could I just be thinking into this too much, or what? because I'd really love to know what he needs to tell me. :]

Being on a boat is quite good as you are sailing through life, not so good if the sea was rough though. Sharks in the water, water to me is our emotions and how we handle them, longing to hear words in a dream often means you need to communicate more in waking life to get results. Sharks are feared objects and in the emotion of water it could be your fear of loosing your lover. alternatively the shark is a big fish and to catch a big fish you must be brave in waking life, Feet in water is often a playful aspect and denotes light hearted aspect of character, perhaps your friend sees you in emotional trouble and hints for you to be more light hearted, brothers depending on the relationship brings a feeling of understanding to any situation, know me like i know my brother, a longing for closeness and security, the sea is always a good sign.

Wow, thanks so much! That makes a lot of sense compared to the stuff I've been coming up with in my head. Thank you for not being really vague. :)

I will add that it is apparent that you feel or intuit something in your life that is not going quite right. Your friend represents the inner you, the part of you that knows what is going on inside (also known as the subconscious mind). She is at the stern of the vessel (symbolizing the part of you that guides you through life) also the subconscious mind.

The fact is that you know down deep that things are not quite right (the shark indicates that you are being taken advantage of in some way). The innuendo of the dream is that you are choosing not to pay attention to something that you down deep know is happening. This is an early warning dream telling you to beware (it probably has to do with your relationship with your boyfriend). In any case be careful not to be taken advantage of...require those in your life to be truthful and upfront in their intentions.
