Falling in Dreams

I dream a lot and about a lot of things, but for the last two years most of my dreams are ending up in me falling from a high place or slipping or stumbling hard. It makes me wake up with a jerk, though I get to sleep again in five minutes. Anyway I do not like this... what does this mean and how can I get rid of it? I don't know if this is related or not, but in real life I'm afraid of heights.
