Help Me with my dream its bugging me and it freaked me out

I cant stop thinking about the dream i had yesterday about my Grandad (who isnt with us no more he passed away 5years ago) Prior to the dream i hadnt thought about him much lately it went like this

I was sitting in the sitting room with my older sister, the passage light was on and for some reason something caught my eye in the door way of the sitting room. It was my Grandad just standing there with his usual clothing on (his blazer etc) but the thing was he had a beard, not long but a tiny bit longer then stubble, the exact size he had a few days before he died. Anyway i could smell him (you know his house smell how everyone has a house smell)

In the dream my sister was alarmed i was shocked, in a state of shock because in the dream he was dead but somehow here he was standing in my passage way/doorway. He never spoke at all in the dream his face wasnt blank either kind of a smug look about him, anyway He slowly began to walk up the stairs, i got out of my seat and stood at the bottom of the stairs and watched him slowly walk up, i follow behind slowly, he gets to the top of the stairs and its like hes going to turn right ( When you turn right at the top of our stairway you either go into the bathroom or into my parents room)

So in the dream i asked if he was going to have a shave because he looked untidy (jokingly said) he had a big smirk on his face, he took his hand off the bannister kept looking down at me 3/4 of the way up the stairs i was at this time, he walked into my mams room then that was it no more, he had vanished. I went back downstairs and saw my mam and i told her all about it, how her dad my grandad was in our house.


This dream has freaked my right out, what can it be? Smelling his house smell, the beard etc. I cant stop thinking about it, its the most 'real' dream ive ever had, the fact i knew he was dead in the dream but him being there was weird.
