Weird reoccurring dream

Postby Twolane83 on Sat Jul 28, 2012 3:34 pm

First a little background, I am a 24 year old male, enlisted marine, have a 23 year old wife with a child on the way. I have three dogs and live in the middle of the desert. I have been diagnosed as bipolar possibly because of a tbi, and I'm currently on medication. I think the medication is why I am able to so vividly remember and recall my dreams. So here goes nothing..
I have a re occurring dream about a mountain lion eating the snout off of my dog (my youngest. She is my baby.), my dog is alive and disfigured, and I ask my dad for his gun to kill it, he wants me to wait.( i thinke he disapproves of it.) I use my own revolver to shoot the mountain lion in the head, as it's now friendly with me, but it doesn't die. ( i feel genuinely bad. I cry a lot as i do this.) I feel like the mountain lion is suffering and have to shoot it multiple times as it looks me in the eyes and asks me why I am doing this to him.. What the hell does this mean? It's really starting to get to me.
Thank you for your time in helping me on this.

A mountain lion or a wild cat means a thief person.Your dog means someone who is kind but ignorant. His nose means his dignity. If a cat ate something means something will be stolen.
The ups and downs of the life .It will happen from a few days to a few months later.Dreams sometimes have happened a few years later. Please update when something like that happened.

So I am worried one of my friends will have his dignity stolen? I am just so sick of having this damn dream. Every time I remember it a little bit more, and this morning it really got to me.

And why would I be encouraged not to kill the cat, and feel so damn guilty about it?

To kill a cat or eating a cats meat means taking back the stolen money or dignity.SO, you dad is wiser than you.

Is that why I had the overwhelming sense of guilt?

I've had a lot of twisted dreams, but I felt so much guilt, remorse, abandonment, and sadness I actually had to consult somebody. I'm expected to ride this kind of thing out, it's part of the job, but I'm still reeling from the dream.

Your dogs symbolize those loyal to you, your countrymen, and allies. You're in the military, so you have taken on an important job to protect your people, the good people, from aggressors. The mountain lion represents those aggressors. When one of your comrades represented by the dogs, is under attack, you try to do what you've been trained to do, to counter that aggression with strength and aggression. But authority represented by your father, denies permission and is subtly disapproving of your aggression. This goes against your training, your loyalty, and your instincts, so you attack the enemy anyway. Then you realize that all is not black and white. |the enemy is not necessarily all bad, so fighting the enemy doesn't feel good. It's a mixed bag, mixed emotions. No clear path to true heroism. To make life and death decisions can a great burden on the conscience.
Sometimes I hear a thousand twanging instruments, sometimes voices lure me back to sleep when I've just woken up— then I dream of heaven dropping such riches on me that when I wake up, I cry because I want to dream again. -Shakespeare
